Cream & Sugar Collection: Layout Tutorial with Caroli

Hello! How are you? Caroli here, too excited because this is my very fist post as part of Doodlebug Desing Creative Team :)

Today I want to show you how I made this clean and simple layout filled with lots of Cream & Sugar goodness!

First thing I made is to cut few circles on a sheet of white cardstock that will be the base of my layout. I cut some of the circles fully and some of them just he half, you'll see why later ;)  Once the circles are cut I splattered some ink drops over the page, not too many, just a few!

With the help of a ruler and a bone folder I scored a line on the half-cut circles, just like I show you in the pic.

And then I folded the paper through the scored line, thus I created the whole circle, don't you just love the effect? I do :)

After that, I used some patterned paper to fill the negative space in circles. I used some 30x30" sheets and also the 15x15" paper pad for a smaller pattern as well.

Once the circles are ok it's time to put the pic. In order to keep the design I used a circle photo and layered a journal card behind it. Then, I used this "love you" quote from the Ods & Ends package. I finished my title with word "frapuccino" I cut with my Silhouette Cameo machine using font Learning Curve.

In order to complement my circles design I cut some more circles from patterned papers and sticked them here and there.

Next, I used my sewing machine for fastening the half-cut circles. I make sure to leave some extra thread loose so as to have a funny look.

Finally, it's time to decorate! I used lots of Ods & Ends, sprinkles and also some alphas for adding the date.  I used some foam dots to adhere some of the embellies, this way I added volume to my layout and made it more interesting.

This is how my layout finally came out. As you can see, it's really simple but yet funny and colorful.

Here some close-ups:
