Hi Everyone...it's Kathy today with a couple of fun projects I created using Doodlebug's Sprinkles Vellum. I fell in love with this vellum the second I saw it! It is the perfect special touch to any project! My first project is a card I designed for my mom this past Mother's Day. You can download the cut file for the card base here! (files are in .studio3 format)
I used some of my thin metal dies to cut the Sprinkles Vellum to make the rolled roses and leafy flourish. I used some clear liquid adhesive to hold the flowers together and also to adhere them to my card. The colors of the vellum coordinated perfectly with the papers from the Sugar Shoppe collection!
For my second project I designed a fun cut file to create these little Sprinkles Vellum butterflies!
I love these pictures of my friend's puppy Rosie. She is such a sweet girl!! Here are some close-ups of the butterflies... again the Sprinkles Vellum colors coordinate perfectly with the Springtime collection!
And now for the fun part...I'd love to share the cut file for the butterflies with you! You can download the cut file here, and here's how to put them together.....
First, I cut the vellum using my Cameo. I used the settings for patterned paper, and set my blade to 3.
The file cuts score-lines on each of the ovals. After you cut them, fan-fold each oval shape using these score lines.
Fold each fan-folded oval in half to create a center crease as shown above. This creates more of a "wing" look.
Adhere the ovals together at the center "fold" point using a glue dot.
I used some of the Doodlebug Twine to make a body and antennae. Simply cut a piece of twine, and tie around the center. Knot it at the top for the "head" and trim the ends for the antennae.
Finally, gently play with each of the wings to spread them out. This will make your butterfly look a bit fuller. I hope you enjoy the cut files! That's it for me today. Make sure to stop by the blog each day to check out more design team inspiration using Sprinkles Vellum! Thanks for stopping by!
