PETITE PRINTS BIRTHDAY TREAT BOXES | with Karen

March to July in my family is what I call "birthday season". Almost everyone in my family celebrates birthdays during this time. So between birthday planning, baking and crafting, it's high season! So I am always happy to have Doodlebug products around to help me get the job done.

All-three-1

One of our birthday traditions is to make small party favours for our guests (and then I usually forget to give them away at the end of the party - true story). I usually try to match the theme that is chosen for the party, so products like Doodlebug's Petite Prints are perfect because you can mix and match them to coordinate with just about anything. For one of our July birthdays, I made these little treat containers to match a floral/bunny theme.

  Closeup-1

I was able to select some of the more neutral tones from the collection to for the container and wrap. I then created some flowers from the Hello Fall Doodle Die cuts and added a rabbit that was cut from a Cricut cut file. Simple, but pretty cute! Here's how you can create the treat container: Cut your paper to 6"x7".

Tutorial-1

With the 7" side along the top of your scoring tool, score at the 1", 3", 4" and 6" marks.

  Tutorial-3

Turn your paper 90 degrees. Score that the 1" and 5" marks. Using a pail of scissors, snip in on each score mark up to the 1" and 5" lines you just created. These will create the sides of your container.

  Tutorial-4

Fold all of your score lines. Using adhesive, add glue to the tabs shown in the photo. It doesn't matter which end of the paper you start on - just add glue to the end small tab and then the middle small tab on the back side of each. Repeat on the opposite side.

  Tutorial-5

Fold these small tabs up and against the longer tab right beside it. This will form the bottom of your container.

  Tutorial-6

To create the lid, add adhesive to the remaining 2 small tabs. Tuck those in and up against the longer tab right beside them to form the side.

  Tutorial-7

Your container should be in this shape.

  Tutorial-8

Fold the lid down over the bottom of the box and you are all set.

  Open-box

Have fun filling them with your favourite treats and embellishing away!

  All-three-2

Well, birthday season is almost over here, but hopefully these little containers help you with yours! Thanks for stopping by! Hugs,
