Our Family Gratitude Journal by Traci Penrod

Happy November everyone!  This month is one of my favorite months of the year ... the fall season here in Georgia is beautiful, the cooler weather is a nice change, and Thanksgiving reminds me to always be grateful for the wonderful things in my life. With this is mind, I created a gratitude journal using the Flea Market collection and one of Doodlebug's new "Jar of Hearts" cut file.
To make the cover, I enlarged the shapes so that the jar was approximately 4.5" x 7.25". I then created an offset shape in my Silhouette software and added 1/4" binding holes to the white jar.  The offset allows me to cut a slightly larger jar to mat the rest of the cover on.
Once I had my larger covers cut from white card stock, I cut the original jar shape out of pistachio petite prints and Flea Market Tiny Treasure paper.   I was able to cut two jars out of a 12x12 sheet.  I cut the same shape out of lined card stock to create the journaling pages.
I added Flea Market Odds & Ends and a few stickers throughout the journaling pages.
For the cover title, I used a scallop oval cut design by Lori Whitlock for my label, and the Doodlebug Family cut file.  Instead of cutting the "family" out, I used the print & cut feature so that I could add the additional words.
To finish my project, I added some doodle twine around the cover edge, tied some chunky twine at the top, and covered a white pen in Fall Flurry washi tape.
This is a fun project to do every Thanksgiving.  Recording what family members have been thankful for is always fun to look back on in the years to come (especially the handwritten notes from the children)!  I hope you all have a wonderful Thanksgiving ... and until then, happy crafting!
