Confetti Pocket Embellishment Tutorial by Kathy

Hi Everyone, It's Kathy today with a fun way to add some pizazz and sparkle to your projects using confetti pockets!  They're really easy to create and can be made in all shapes and sizes.  For my layout I created 3 Insta-frame pockets...take a peek:
and some close-ups:
This layout is a mixture of a few different Doodlebug staples, including Textured Cardstock, Tiny Prints, Sugar Coated Cardstock, Chunky Sugar Coated Glitter...all mixed it with some stickers and embellishments from a couple of different collections.  This is one (of many) reasons I love working with Doodlebug products...everything coordinates! No matter what year or collection you can easily mix and match!  Now for the pockets...they're actually very easy to create:

First, I cut some Insta Frame shapes...I hand cut the larger frame and used some dies for the smaller ones.  I also cut some vellum to create the pocket.  I cut the vellum slightly larger than the width of the opening and slightly larger than twice the length.

Next, I folded the vellum in half, and "tacked" it to the back side of my frame using a little adhesive.

To form the pocket, I stitched around 3/4 of the frame, leaving the top unstitched so that I had an opening to add the confetti.   If you're not a fan of sewing, you could also use a thin line of liquid adhesive or 2-sided tape to close the sides.
For my confetti, I hole-punched some Sugar Coated Cardstock and then added some Chunky Sugar Coated Glitter and put them into the pocket.
To complete the Confetti frame, I just stitched across the top of the frame, closing the pocket.  Again, you could use liquid adhesive or two sided tape to do this as well.
And done!  I'd love to see your confetti pocket creations!  If you decide to give it a try...be sure to link your projects to the Doodlebug Facebook page!  Thanks for stopping by today!
