Getting Masculine with Doodlebug

My friend recently did a blog post about how hard it can be to find the right decor for a Boys Room. So she posted ideas from her own son's room and some other great blogs. Check out Today's Creative Blog for boy room inspiration. But that also got me thinking about how with the right combination of colors and placement even a scrapbook layout can be made to look masculine. So we've challenged our Design Team girls to share how they can take the darling Doodlebug products and ROCK the masculine makeovers.

Handsome Dude

"I used the Boys Only Line (I know pretty obvious!)... but instead of a too cute look, I wanted to make it more masculine and "grown up" for my son. I used gear die cuts (Taylored Dies) as stencil and misted over them to create the misted gear back ground."

"I chose earthy tones for this layout as those are the colors my husband loves. I roughed up the background a bit ---- spritz with ink, wet and crumpled. Unfold and let dry. The banner flags on the sticker sheets has two holes in it --- it's easy to add to a paper clip!"

Hey Mom

"My son came into my office one day and handed me these little pieces of paper.  He had drawn his name a couple of times, colored it, and cut them out.  He asked me if I wanted them for his scrapbook.  Of course I did!  I love that he WANTS to save things in his memory book!  I found a random photo to put with his drawings and created a page especially for him"
Supplies:  Take Note (jewels, icon stickers, fancy frills stickers, this & that stickers, quote stickers, mini pockets, album inserts, tweed stripe paper, say what? paper, totally paper, expressions paper, album inserts); colored pencil doodlepops, scissors doodlepops, gray doodle twine
