Goal! Collection: Soccer Star Mini Album by Mendi

Hello there!  It's Mendi here today with a fun project using Doodlebug's newest Goal! collection and 8 sheets of 6x6 raw chipboard I had on hand.
I knew immediately when I saw these darling papers, I needed to make a special mini album as a gift for my Stepdad.  His daughter was a soccer champ and now he has a little grandson who is following in his Mom's footsteps so I thought it would be fun to give him an album to collect all his treasured photos in.  :)
I was only given a few pictures to start the album off with so the remaining pages have been left open.  I plan to make this a gift that keeps on giving.  As my Stepdad acquires new pictures, I will print them off and size them to fit in his little album.
Today I am offering a free download HERE for the cutting files I created for some of the special pages in this mini album, including the curved label for the front cover, the scalloped pages for the soccer ball sprinkles seen below and the curved labels for the last set of pages. While some of the pages are pretty simple in design I wanted to resist the urge to get too specific.  I decided it would be easier to use later with photos of any orientation if I didn't paint myself into a corner design wise.
For the last set of pages in the book, I designed it to fit a series of baseball sized cards (or in this case soccer cards).   I just love the soccer ball die-cuts in this collection.  I thought they were really fun to design with and I had fun finding new ways to incorporate them on the different pages.
In the end I was able to use 8 of the 12 papers that come with the collection pack and a great deal of the matching embellishments for my project.  Since we don't personally play soccer, I love that I was able to put nearly every last bit to good use without a lot of waste. I hope I have inspired you to make a special keepsake album of your own.  Keep in mind this project could easily be made with the baseball or basketball papers instead simply by switching out the balls so if soccer's not your game, this would be perfect for the other sports as well.  ;)

Goal! Collection: Soccer Shadow Box by Jennifer Beason

Hello Doodlebug fans!  My kiddos and I aren't really sport fanatics. So for this project I recruited the help of a relative and her handsome son, Corbin. They kindly sent me a bunch of sporty pics to choose from for some of my latest projects. The shadowbox I am sharing today was made using the new Goal collection, but could definitely work with any of the other new sport lines.
The original shadow box was a little small for my needs, so I used thick chipboard to add on the section for the stats and Corbin's name.
I love the black and white soccer print and used it on the sides and back of the box. Then added a easel, so the project could stand with support.
Die-cuts, sprinkles and stickers were used to highlight Corbin's name.
Then the small square cubbies were filled with stickers, soccer sprinkles and a shield doodlepop.
The stats section is a great spot for Corbin's mom to add some more details.
Here's one last look of the shadow box.
Well that's it for me! Thanks so much for stopping by. Jennifer

GOAL!! Collection: Soccur Mini Album by Traci Penrod

Hello Doodlebug fans!   It's Traci and I'm back to share another mini using the new "Goal!!" collection.  For this one, I created a fun box to go with my shaped album.  I think it will be a fun gift for a soccer coach!
I cut the pieces for the box out using my Silhouette machine.  I used a thin chipboard and covered it with the new papers, some lily white and beetle black card stock, and lots of soccer ball sprinkles!  I also added new chunky twine around the edges -- I can't get enough of this fun twine!
For the album, I cut out several circles with my Silhouette and layered them with papers from the Goal 6x6 paper pad.  For embellishments, I used pixie sticks, boutique buttons, stickers and enamel sprinkles.   If you have a soccer player at home, you MUST get this collection.  Everything about it SCORES!  I love it!
