Thankful for Challenge: Autumn Layout by Karen

Hi everyone! It's Karen, and today I am really excited to share my project for the design team's current challenge all about giving thanks! I have to admit that I spent a lot of time thinking about what I wanted to do for this project. Thank-you cards, which I find are an item I am making and giving all the time, seemed like a great choice. And then there was the idea of making treat container of some sort, because I use those often as well to give back to all those who help me out. And then there was the idea of creating an item that had to do with my day job - teaching - because that really is a gift that I am thankful for. But the truth was that I just couldn't think of anything I was more thankful for than my two little girls, and the fact that creating layouts of them is one of the ways that I give thanks for the little moments and memories that we get to make together!
Every time I create a layout, it is a chance for me to give thanks - to remember, to smile and to show my love for those little monkeys!
So, given that I hadn't sat down to do a layout for awhile, this seemed like the perfect time. So I grabbed the delightful Fall Friends collection and got to work! Fall Friends is one of the older Doodlebug collections, but the cute characters and rich colours and textures make it one of my favourites!
For both layouts, all the embellishments came simply from the this & that sticker sheets or from the icon stickers...
...or even just fussy cut right from the paper!
And as is my usual finishing touch, a few sprinkles made their way onto the layout as well, because a layout in my house just doesn't seem finished without a sprinkle or two or three!

You know, there are so many things in my life that I am thankful for, including this amazing company and this fantastic team design team. In fact, I can think of a hundred layouts I could create about things that I am thankful for...hmmmm...perhaps an album on just that theme is called for! Perhaps a new goal for 2018! Thanks for stopping by! Hugs, Karen
