Christmas Town Layout | with Caroli

One thing I love about Christmas is the magic you can feel everywhere with little details. Every year I try to decorate the house, bake some cookies, listen to Christmas music, and keep the Christmas spirit alive and kicking! This is what this layout documents, some of the Christmas details I worked this year.
I had the idea of using some bug snowflakes, so I cut some using my Silhouette Cameo machine and patterned paper from the Petite Prints collections, and also used white cardstock. I added and extra special detail by stitching with my sewing machine on some of them.
Once again, I created a big die cut title using this tutorial, and this time I filled some of the letter with photos, I really LOVE how the came out. I'm always thinking about how could I include more photos on my layouts, and this is certainly an idea I will use again.
I wanted to use this beautiful dotted kraft patterned paper as background, but it was a bit dark to write my journaling right on it. for this reason, I paced a piece of vellum and then wrote my journaling on it. This is a great way of "partially" covering a busy background, but keeping the pattern.
Do you like t add special Christmas magic details to your house? If you do you really should document them, It's nice to see what you've created through years :)

Have a lovely day and Merry Christmas my dear Doodlebug friends!

Christmas Town Layout | with Anita

Not long now!! Who’s excited for Christmas Day?...
I know my daughter Eve is excited, she wants a new phone but what teen doesn't want some form of technology!!! I thought for this layout I would create a Christmas woodland with Christmas trees and little animals.
I started with white cardstock as my background
Then using my cameo I cut out a cut file I had Designed with Christmas trees and a snowy hills
Backing it with ho ho ho and Christmas Town patterned paper
And I decided on using the deer again because of the deer in the photo
you can find the christmas Town cut file collection here at Lori Whitlock's Shop
or at the Silhouette store

And for the snow I used the lily white floral-graph and the opposite side I cut out the snowflakes for the top of the layout then I added the festive flurry shape sprinkles to add in the center of the snowflakes
I layered leftover scrap bits of patterned papers behind my photo.
Then using the stickers I added little animals in the trees and underneath and using the odds and ends and chit chat pack diecut pieces on my photo and around the trees , I also added a cute little deer doodle pop in between the 2 big trees .
Then using Ladybug Abigail Stickers I create my title
Here is my process video

I hope you have enjoyed my inspiration today!

Christmas Town Layout | with Caroli

Hello there! You know I love Christmas, I must have told you about it like a hundred times already! But since I live in South America, my Christmas is always in summer, so I don't get to experience the "real" white wintery season.
For this reason, I've decided to celebrate in June, while in the middle of my winter, that way there's only six months to wait for the 'real' Christmas. And, I can wear my ugly Christmas sweaters and drink hot cocoa with marshmallows without worrying about the  heat :)
This is what this layout is all about, it documents the Six Months until Christmas party I throw with my friends each year.
I decided to create a big title diet using this tutorial I shared here before. I filled the letter with different patterned papers and also used come Abigail alphabet to make the title more interesting.
I created a horizontal cluster of embellishments using Odds & Ends and Chit Chat packages, and also some Doodle Pops. With the help of some Sprinkles I added an extra cute detail to some of the critters.

I completed the title with a word I cut using my Silhouette Cameo machine and free font Sacramento. Some seeing machine stitching and I'm done!
I love how simple but yet fun this page came out, the bright Christmas colors pop from the white background and I used a lot of patterned paper :)

I hope you got inspired to work on some Christmas layout with Christmas Town collection, have a lovely day!

Petite Prints Layout | with Anita

How lovely are the new petite prints.....stripes and dots, oh and the floral and graph.
They are just perfect for adding lots of colour, whether it be a background or silhouette cut flowers.
I started with a design idea to have big flowers cut from the floral and graph petite prints patterned paper. Layering them in different colours matching the flowers in the photo along with buttoned centers to add more dimension.
Next I used a background cutfile and cut the design out on my white cardstock and layering the white cardstock over the top of cupcake stripes petite prints patterned paper and machine stitching a border.
Then using a paper from the 6x6 dot - stripe I matted my photo and added 2 mini doilies behind in 2 corners. I added a few other cutfile cuts behind the opposite sides and added my big flowers on top of them.
Then using some crepe paper I ruffled it and added it just underneath the bottom of the photo.
Next I added a tag, paper clip and some cupcake sprinkles around the layout.

So Punny | Layout + Process Video with Anita

Today I’m sharing a fun layout and process video of my youngest daughter Eve using that cute and bright patterned paper gummi a kiss as my main focuses on my background.
Gummy bears are one of Eve's favourite lollies... mine too, they are so yum!

I started with a simple design, creating only in the middle of the card stock leaving lots of white space and allowing those beautiful patterned papers to pop on the white card stock.

I used the odds and ends to cluster on the bottom left hand side of photo on top of a fussy cut heart from the work of heart patterned paper and then made a mini envelope out of patterned paper from the so punny 6x6 paper pad and added one of the chit chat card stock bits ( hello) in the center just popping out of the mini envelope.

Next I added the word adorable from the chit chat pack and my title at the top 'I love you beary much' with a little bear poking out the side of the photo.
Then to finish off the layout I used those sweet little shape sprinkles sweeties on opposite sides of my photo and a few sequins...

Cream & Sugar | 2017 Layout by Caroli

I'm delighted to be continuing for another year on the Doodlebug Design Team as I truly appreciate this opportunity and really hope to be a creative inspiration for everyone.

Every year at the end of December, I make a summary layout looking back over the past twelve months. So for my first project of the new year I created a layout using the super sweet Cream & Sugar collection that captured my 2017 on a single page. I decided to use lots of small pics because I wanted them to be the main focus of this layout. I carefully chose every single photo, every pic meant something (wether good or bad) that happened to me this year.

I kept my design simple as I wanted to focus on the photos and the journaling. So, I cut the word "now" using my electronic cutter machine and placed a selection of little pics inside the letters N and W keeping the letter O to write my journaling. "Everything Now" is the name of a song by Arcade Fire (my favorite band) which I was fortunate to see live this year. It was one of the most amazing concerts ever so of course I had to include it on my layout. This song (like several of this band) means a lot to me and acted like some kind of soundtrack of my life over the past twelve months which is why I decided to use it as the title in this layout.

My idea was to document both happy moments, and also few sad ones. I thinks it's a good exercise to document not only happy times, but also the not so happy times as a way of learning and growing.

I love how this came out, its quite simple but it means a lot. I'm really glad I'm able to document my life through my scrapbooks. In the future I will look back at this page and remember how intense, confusing, wonderful, chaotic and amazing this year was.

Thank you for visiting today, hopefully I was able to give you some inspiration on creating a page of memories for your 2017.
