MONSTER MADNESS MONSTER NUGGET HOLDERS | with Kathy

Have you seen the two new sets of Doodle Cuts from the Monster Madness Collection?  These thin metal dies make the cutest little monsters!  I decided to cut some out and add them to some nugget holders for Halloween.  Take a peek...

The first set of Doodle Cuts is called Party Animal.  There are 2 cute monsters along with some balloons and confetti.  I used the 6x6 Monster Madness pad and some petite prints to piece mine together....

The next set is called Sweet Tooth.  There are two cuties along with some cupcakes and candy dies...

I pieced my monsters together, then attached them to a nugget holder.

To make the nugget holder, I cut a strip of paper 1.5" x 4.5".  I then scored it at 1.5", 2.5" and 4".  I folded the score lines all in the same direction to form a triangle.  The nugget is attached with a glue dot and the top is folded over and glued to stay shut.

The little monsters are easy to assemble.  They are all done in the same basic manner.  Below is a guide to assemble them..

  1. I started by cutting the pieces.  Since the back of my monster was going to be showing, I also cut a 2nd monster body from the back side of my patterned paper to cover the back.  In addition I cut a black piece of paper to back the mouth and eyes.
  2. Next I glued on the dots.  (same thing for stripes...)  If you want some to hang off the edge, you can glue them that way and trim them like on the blue monster.
  3. I cut a piece of my black paper and backed the eyes only.
  4. Next on the back side of my monster, I added the horns, arms & legs.  I also added the teeth.  Finally I added another piece of black behind the teeth to cover the mouth opening (not shown)
  5. If you are adding this flat to a card or layout, you do not need to to this next step.  My monsters are standing so you can see the back of them.  To cover all the layered pieces, I cut the monster again from the back side of my paper, saving the mouth and eye pieces.  I then glued everything to the back to cover.

I thought these would be fun for a classroom or for coworkers.  They would also make cute party favors!  That's it for me today, thanks for stopping by to peek!
