Guest Designer - Pretzel Boy Layout | Christine Meyer

Hi there Doodlebug Fans! Christine from Scrapping with Christine joining you as a guest designer for my second of three projects today! Have you ever had a little element in a collection just jump out at you to play with? That was the case for me today with the Pretzels in the So Much Pun Collection. First off, I have a house full of soft pretzel fans, my husband makes the BEST ones around. Second, we just took my son to get fresh pretzels on his birthday. When I found the Pretzels AND the Birthday elements in this collection, I knew I had a winning combination.

Stitching a pretzel onto a layout has to be one of the weirdest things I have stitched. But part of why I scrapbook is to see the kids reactions to a layout about them. My son was bursting with excitement when he saw this and had all kinds of questions as to how I made it! Mission Accomplished!

Close-ups

I just did a simple back-stitch for my pretzel. Making a big center focal point allowed for me to keep the embellishments simple. I stuck with hearts, stars, and of course Sprinkles!

I couldn't resist that combination of the Chit Chat piece saying "You're KNOT that old!" with my son's face in the picture. Too perfect! Imagine the fun that could be had with that one on a birthday card as well!
