PageMaps Layouts by Wendy and Shellye

Have you not been loving the fun takes on the PageMap sketches? Because we're hooked and cannot wait to create more. Don't forget to pin our project to Pinterest if you like them!

These Cute Brothers

I was so excited to use one of Becky's sketches for my layout.  I just love using sketches as a starting point for my projects.  I wanted to scrap these older photos of my little boys.  I thought it would be fun to look at the archived sketches for the month the photos were taken (June 2009) and I was excited to find a sketch that worked perectly for the photos I already had printed!

Supplies:  Take Note (icon cardstock stickers, fancy frills stickers, this & that stickers, stick to it paper, totally paper, expressions paper, count on it paper, jewels, 4x6 album inserts) colored pencils doodle pops, lily white teensy type stickers, lily white jack & jill stickers)

Introducing PageMaps

Could you believe when we challenged our design team to create some inspiring Doodlebug Design layouts and cards that some of our girls had never heard of PageMaps? Have you? Well it is a great resource of sketches and we wanted to introduce you to this amazing resource and have you go check it out as we feature the sketches throughout this week. Visit PageMaps website here.

Good Times Card

Chalk Art Layout
by Sherry Cartwright

Designer Note: I used the middle sketch on the bottom row, converting it from 12x12 to 8.5x11 format. I kept the clothesline/banner and butterfly elements from the original sketch and tried to follow along the same layout.

Sweet Pickings
by Jodi Wilton

Designer Note: I used MAY 2013 page maps sketch (photo attached). I kept with the strawberry theme, and I wanted to show how you can even use pink on a boy layout. Many people shy away from this color with boys, but it fit the layout perfectly!

Sweet Summertime Layout Inspiration

More summertime inspiration featuring Doodlebug Design products, but these fall in the SWEET category. Whether it's sweet treats or sweet subjects we hope today's post inspires you to go and capture some of those memories.

Tattipillar

We were all so impressed with Melinda's skills of lining up the triangles that we asked her if she had any tips or tricks. Be sure to jump over to her blog to find out what she told us....

Designer's Note: Apart from the cute photo of my little man with his toy caterpillar (Tattipillar) I wanted the summery triangle pattern across the page to be the main focus so I toned everything else down by using black, grey and white where possible and just a hint of pink with the washi tape and flower brad.

Products Used: I was really excited to break into the new Doodlebug Cardstock and found it added such a wonderful and unique texture to the triangle cut-outs. I was spoilt for choice with the cardstock colours which made the ombre effect a simple theme to achieve. I also added a hint of the new 'Cap and Gown' collection along with a variety of sticker and rub-on fonts in Beetleblack.

Summer SNOW
by Tya Smith

Who doesn't love a yummy snow cone during the summer. Doodlebug's papers are perfect for this colorful event.

Sweet Summer
by Jodi Wilton

As soon as I think of summer, I think of WATERMELON! We have this yummy snack so much, its hard NOT to have watermelon pictures each year. The fruit stand collection is the perfect collection to create projects of all the yummy fruitti snacks!

Summer fun Milk Carton Treat Boxes

by Wendy Sue Anderson

I wanted to make some fun little gift boxes with a summerish feel and when I found this digital cut file for mini milk cartons, I knew the Fruit Stand Collection would be perfect!

After I cut out the boxes and assembled them, I simply added a few coordinating stickers to a tag and tied them onto the top of the box. Now they are ready to fill with some sweet summer treats for some sweet friends!

Supplies:  fruit stand (icons stickers, this & that stickers, doodles tags stickers, fruit stand paper, orange blossoms paper) doodle twine (bumblebee, limeade, tangerine, lady bug)

Since not everyone has an electronic cutter, here's an online pattern and tutorial:
