Sunkissed Collection: Sweet Gift Set by Jennifer

Hello Doodlebug fans!  Jennifer here to share my SunKissed project. This gift package idea is the perfect way to give some treats, or a gift card to someone special.
The watermelon was cut out on my Silhouette, Then it was embellished with stickers and die cuts from the Sunkissed collection.
For the inside of the watermelon, a small pocket was made to hold the gift card, along with a vellum pinwheel. An ice cream die-cut was reinforced with cardboard, then a little crab was cut on the Silhouette and attached.  The cone was then attached to a wood dowel, as shown. To hold everything in place in the box I added some Easter grass, but you could also use some shredded paper, wrapped chocolate or candy in your watermelon. Here are a few more pictures of the finished project.
Thanks for joining me today!  Jennifer

Sunkissed Collection: Layout Inspiration by Melinda

Hello and Happy Easter... it's Melinda with you today and I'm finishing the week off with one final project using the gloriously bright and funky 'Sunkissed' collection.

A dear friend of mine had some amazing photos taken of her boys in their new pool and I couldn't resist creating a layout for her using Sunkissed... it just seemed to work in perfectly!

I've commited myself to making sure that every layout I do from now on has some form of story, no matter how brief and it must also contain a date. I have been a little slack worrying more about design than actually paying attention to the details that will matter in years to come.

However, in saying that... I still want to play around with fun designs and I'm hooked on using all the little embellishments to create fun mosaic styled backgrounds for my photos. And how cute are all the 'Sunkissed' bits and pieces? Doodlebug's standard colour palette means that no matter what collection you are using, all the embellishments will match... no matter what! Love it!

I love hand stitching on layouts because I truly find it relaxing and it means I can sit and catch up on a bit of television whilst I'm at it... it's my therapy!

Thank you for stopping by today and again I would like to wish you all a happy Easter!

- Melinda

Sunkissed Collection: Scrapbox Mini Album by Traci

Hi Doodlebug friends! It's Traci, and it's my turn to share a project using the new "Sunkissed" collection. Since my favorite projects are mini albums, I couldn't resist using this colorful new line for a fun mini album "scrapbox".
I re-purposed a white recipe card box by covering it with papers from the collection. I added a few layers to the top, a 4x6 title card, and lots of adorable twine and jewels. For the inside, I added some colorful striped paper and hung a summer banner across the inside lid. I attached the banner on the outside with a few boutique buttons.
For the file folder insert pages, I used a cutting file designed by Lori Whitlock. Once I had the folders cut, I layered them with lots of paper, stickers, and glitter sprinkles!
I absolutely love all of the wonderful embellishments and fun products Doodlebug includes with each collection ... like the "grass" washi tape that I added along the bottom of my journaling card.

Thanks for letting me share this fun project with you! I'll have more photos of the pages posted over on my blog at Artsy Albums today if you want to stop by to say hello!
