Holiday Gifts: Chocolate Christmas Wreath by Melinda

Chocolate always seems to creep it's way into our Christmas decorations, whether hanging from the Christmas tree or adorning a garland strung across a doorway. However, considering our Christmas here in Australia is in the middle of Summer the chocolate never lasts until December 25... "oh mum, it was melting I promise"!

Now I will fully admit this wreath isn't being gifted to anyone other than my doorway because I cannot bare to part with it now that it's made. And I'm already down one chocolate in the few hours it's being hanging as Master 5 cannot help himself. But hey, it's Christmas after all.

I purchased a foam ring for the base and then used three of the super cute Milk & Cookies cut files to create the pieces I needed to put the wreath together.

Then it was a matter of layering all the holly leaves and snowflakes to cover the foam before attaching the little Christmas puddings. I also decided to use Sprinkles for the eyes and cheeks instead of the flat paper pieces of the cut files as I thought the extra dimension would add to the sweetness of the little faces.

To finish the wreath I added the chocolate Lindt balls with foam pop dots... this is definitely not a time to be using a glue gun when chocolate is involved.

Thank you for stopping by today, I hope I've given you some ideas for your Christmas decorations, especially if you plan on adding yummy chocolate.

Washi Tape Challenge: Christmas Cards by Mendi

Hello Doodlebugs!  It's Mendi here today with a trio of cards showcasing some fun ways to incorporate washi tape into your holiday cardmaking!
Doodlebug Design Milk & Cookie Washi Tape Holiday Christmas Cards by Mendi Yoshikawa
For my first card, I quickly covered the front of a 5.5" x 4.25" card with the darling tapes from the Milk & Cookies collection, as well as a few fun basic polka-dots.  After my card front was covered, I die-cut a circle from the front and inserted a cute little sticker in the open space.  This card design is perfect for mass producing and is great for mailing because it's very flat.

For my second card, I wanted to show off the translucent qualities of the washi tape so I adhered the adorable milk & cookies tape to a piece of clear acetate, alternating with the basic thin gingham and polka-dot washi tapes.   I left a little space between the tapes to see through to the inside of the card and then cut a 4x4 inch window from the center of my card front.  I then sandwiched the clear acetate between my front card panel and my card base, covering the seam with the scalloped aqua frame.  To finish my card I heat embossed a stamped sentiment onto a die-cut circle and added the darling milk and cookie stickers from the icon sticker sheet.

My last card of the day uses the super cute gingerbread washi tape with the same techniques utilized on my second card.  When my frames were in place, I embellished the outside with the adorable little gingerbread stickers popped up with foam tape and a sentiment from the This & That sticker sheet.  I thought the heart sprinkles were a great finishing touch to tie the pink colors in with the rest of my card.

I hope I've inspired you to pull out your washi tapes (or pick up some of these darling ones) to incorporate with your Christmas cards this year.  Thanks so much for visiting and I hope you have a wonderful day.  :)

Milk & Cookies Collection: Christmas Mini Album by Caroli

Hello peeps! How are you doing? Caroli here and today I want to share a very special project I made using gorgeous Milk & Cookies collection.

I must say that I DO LOVE Christmas, it's definitively my fave time of the year and I really enjoy that season as much as I can: I bake cookies with my kids, I enjoy making little treats and wrapping presents for friends, decorating my house, etc.

Since 2014 I throw a Christmas party for my friends and their kids called "Caroli's Christmas Special". It started just like a crazy funny idea but every year it becomes more and more "professional". Last year we had such a blast, my friends cooked yummy food and everyone showed up wearing some Crhistmas funny outfit/hat/accessory. I love this party and I plan things for it during the whole year!

Today I want to share this minialbum I made to document last year's party, this collection is perfect in aevery possible way, so I couln't make any other project than this mini

I went for a simple binding because I wanted to have a lot of volume, lots of pics and lots of embellies, so rings were the perfect system.

I love using vellum pages on my minis, they are a cute detail and I love the transparency effect, definityvely they make them funnier and cuter!

For me, scrapbooking is all about telling memories, so journaling is a very important part of my work. In this mini I printed my journaling on vellum and used it as a one more page, love how it looks.

I hope you liked this mini as much as I do, I really had a great time working in this project and I am so glad I got to document such a happy day.

Have a lovely day!

Milk & Cookies Collection: Wrapped in Twine Layout by Virginia Nebel

Hello, it's Virginia here today to share with you a few layouts using the adorable Milk & Cookies collection.  For my single page layout I used the cute paper with the Santa and fireplace scene. This scene make for a fabulous page foundation, just add your photos and embellishments and then finish framing the scene with some colorful twine!

Don't forget the little details such as adding some initials onto the stockings hanging on the fireplace and embellishing the tree ornaments with some glittered sprinkle dots!

When creating double pages sometimes the challenge is using papers over a 24x12 base.  On my double page I stretched out one sheet of pattern paper by cutting the paper in half on the diagonal.  To do this, fold the paper in half from the top left corner to the bottom right corner and cut on the folded line to create two triangles.  Adhere one triangle to each of the card stock bases to form a  fun geometric design while giving you lots of negative white space to make your embellishments pop off the page.  I created long photo mat strips across the double page to create a bit of timeline effect to fit multiple photos over the double page.

Milk & Cookies Collection: Cut File Cuteness by Brigit Mann

Hello Doodlebug Fans, it's Brigit here sharing a Christmas project using the new Milk and Cookies. I love all of Doodlebug's collections, each and every one are absolutely adorable, but I always look forward to their Christmas one and this is fantastic!!

The hardest thing about making Doodlebug projects is picking out what I'm going to use, everything is just so darn cute. I figured with all the sweets in this collection I had to make a gingerbread house and then I thought a pantry card would go with it perfectly to make a nice gift set.

For the card I used the armoire shaped card from Lori Whitlock's shop, I altered it a little so my stickers would fit in each cutout and I didn't want the doors to open.  I used Doodlebug's 6 x 6 pad for the patterned paper on the doors and the striped back panel, the candy christmas paper is from the 12 x 12 paper pack .  All the stickers are from the milk & cookies icon sheet and the this & that sticker sheet. I used a piece of ladybug chunky twine at the top and holly berries shaped sprinkles for the knobs.

I had so much fun making this house, I used another cut file from Lori Whitlock's shop, the gingerbread house, I altered this one also, I wanted the dear santa brick paper on the walls all to go the same direction, so a little rearranging fixed that.  For the trim and roof, I used the santa sweet paper and then embellished the house with icon stickers, sweet spruce and jolly gingerbread doodlepops, some sugarplumchristmas glitter and candy cane sprinkles. I used some liquid applique and glitter around the door, windows, and chimney.

Here's a top view of the house, the chimney didn't come with it, I made it so the adorable santa chimney sticker would fit nicely, I also added the snowy top layer.

The house can be used as a luminary, I put vellum in all the windows and added two battery lights inside.

I hope you've enjoyed this gift set, thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful day!

Milk & Cookies Collection: Printer Tray Display by Karen

Hi everyone, it's Karen, and I need a moment to gather myself. You see, the truth is that I basically have not stopped squealing since I laid my eyes on the newest Doodlebug collection - Milk & Cookies. I did stop long enough to pull a little project together, but truth be told, I may start again at any moment...don't say I didn't warn you!
I have had a little faux printer tray hanging around in my crafty space for the longest time. Up until now, I just wasn't inspired to use it. But with all the fun patterned papers in this collection that, as always, coordinate perfectly, I knew this collection was the perfect fit!
This printer tray is just slightly bigger than 12x12, so when I was deciding what to embellish the compartments with, the Odds and Ends were a perfect fit - literally!
And just in case you want to add a bit of dimension to the shapes, the doodle-pops make a perfect addition as well. I used the Sweet Spruce for one section and then matted the Jolly Gingerbread men onto some Petite Print paper for another.
And of course, I couldn't forget to add some of the cute glitter Sprinkles! I used some to embellish the Odds and Ends die cuts - like the door handle for this section...
...and the puppy's collar and top of the light shade in this section (can I just say that this cute little scene is my favourite of the whole piece??!!)...
...and even just to add a bit of dimension on the fun polka dot paper. I love me some Sprinkles!!!
So there you have it - I refrained from squealing during the whole post, but I can guarantee that you will not be able to control yourself when you have your hands on this collection. It really is a special collection that while bring the fun and cute into your Christmas decorating! I think I need to make a banner with it now...what do you think? Thanks for stopping by!

Hugs, Karen

Milk & Cookies Collection: Advent Calendar with Kathy

Hi Everyone!  It's Kathy today excited to be kicking off a couple of weeks of projects featuring the ADORABLE new Milk & Cookies Collection!  I created a fun Advent Calendar with the collection, take a peek....

I started with the flannel jammies double-sided cardstock.  This paper made this project so easy!

I then cut 26 of these boxes from Lori Whitlock (available here in the Silhouette Store)  using some Maple Gingham Linen Petite Prints.  You can fit two of these on one 12x12 page, so there's very little paper waste and they go together quickly!  I then set to decorating the boxes using the countdown squares and other papers from the collection.  Here are some close-ups....

The great thing about these boxes is that they're big enough to hold a number of items which comes in handy if you have more than one kiddo!

I added some additional embellishments to some of the boxes using the Glitter Sprinkles, Shaped Sprinkles, Odds & Ends and Doodle Pops

Here is the view from the back.  I can't wait to fill it with goodies this year!  That's it for me today, thanks for stopping by to peek!
