Alphabet Challenge: Hip Hip Hooray Card Set by Wendy Sue Anderson

Hello Doodlebug Friends!  It's Wendy Sue here today, sharing a fun little card set using lots of rainbow mix & match letters!  I really love love love (x infinity) the Chippers!  They are larger letters, so my first inclination is to use them on layouts...but I LOVE the big bold statement they make on cards!  I created this set of birthday cards using various chipboard letters.

I used the "hip hip hooray" collection because I love the colors and designs for both boys and girls.

Little colorful bits and pieces add to the unique design of each card, including sprinkles, doodle tape, and twine!

Of course, I added dimensional adhesive behind the stickers for a little bit of added dimension.

For this final card, I opted to use several different letter stickers from many different alphabet sticker shapes.  I love the eclectic look of all the different styles.  Yet there is still a cohesiveness because of the amazing doodlebug color pallet!

Try mixing and matching colorful letters on your next set of cards!

Lattice Scored Card Technique and Sequins

Hi there Doodlebug Fans- It's Tya here to share with you my project featuring our yummy Sequins! I love using sequins when I want to add a little bling and texture to my projects. I wanted to share with you this lattice scored card technique that I think highlights just how fun the sequins can be when you add them to this type of card. It is super simple and adds a fun touch to an otherwise ordinary card  front.
Let me share with you how to do the lattice design on the cards:
I used a 3 1/2 x 5 1/2 inch piece of card stock on my projects. I used my Scor- Buddy to make the scored lines. Starting on the top right corner of the paper, I lined the cardstock up on the diagonal and scored every inch
. Now, take the paper and line up the top left corner and again score every 1 inch.
I then added the sequins to the intersecting scored lines.

Here are the cards- I used the Sugar Shoppe and Hip Hip Hooray lines to make these cards.

Thanks so much for joining me and go try this technique on your next card if you want to add a little extra "bling"- with the different styles of sequins in each bottle from opaque to metallic - you are sure to find just the right sequin to use! Happy Crafting!

Hip Hip Hooray: Layout Inspiration by Melinda

Happy Thursday... it's Melinda with you today and I'm going to show Hip Hip Hooray's versatility by sharing a layout I created with a non-birthday or celebratory theme! Sometimes it's easy to look at a collection and think 'I love it but I just don't scrap that particular theme'... however, if you flip the papers over you'll find an array of gorgeous patterns and prints that can be used for any style of layout... if you love it then you'll find a way!

I must admit I find it hard to go past a chevron print so used the grey reverse side of the Shades of Chevron for my background paper. Then I decided to go a little wild with colour by adding more of the reverse papers in a wave panel across the page. The idea was to really make the panel 'pop' against the grey background plus to have a little fun!

Now the actual theme of this layout isn't one I really wanted to celebrate because it broke my heart to make the decision to finally cut my little man's hair. However, he wasn't worried about it at all and was actually quite cute and cheeky during the trim so I decided to use that as my inspiration which led me to the collage of Sprinkles, Sequins, Buttons, Stickers etc!

The photo collage was mounted on a mat of patterned paper layers to which I added small touches of the new Sprinkles vellum to soften the overall look.

Would love for my hand writing to be this neat but sadly I can't lay claim to the journaling as I used the mini rub-ons in Lily White.

Pocket Page Spread
by Wendy Sue Anderson

Hi Doodlebug Friends!  It's Wendy Sue here again today, and I am super excited to share my latest Doodlebug creation with you!  One of the biggest trends in scrapbooking today is using pocket pages - did you know Doodlebug has their very own collection of pocket page protectors?   They are called Storybook Album Protectors, and I just love all of the sizes and styles - they are perfect for adding in with my regular pages in my albums.

Today I am sharing a layout using the 4x6 vertical photo protector page...along with the super fun, super happy, super colorful "hip hip hooray" collection.

I used these fun photos from Zach's 5th birthday.  He requested a "pizza picnic" on my bed for lunch - which is appropriate since his birthday is in January and it's way too cold for a picnic anywhere else!

I used one of the little treat bags to create an accent for one of the pockets - and also to act as a mat for my journaling.  I tucked some of the fun doodle-pops right inside and secured them with some foam dots.

For the title, I used some of the stickers from the border sticker sheet, some of the sweet little tickets, and that short, squatty, sweet little monster - I just love how everything coordinates and makes scrapbooking so easy!
For my final little decorative piece I used a card out of the Simply Put pad.  It was cute all by itself, but I wanted to jazz it up a little bit, so I added some doodle tape, doodle twine, stickers, and sprinkles.

The final result is a quick and easy page that celebrates a fun day - the best thing about pocket pages is that you can add as many or as few photos and decorative elements as you want and it looks good no matter what!  I tucked six additional photos in the back-side of these pockets - the story is complete, the memory is saved, and it didn't take me hours and hours to do it!  I call that a win-win!

Storybook Page Spread
by Sharm

Hello there! Sharm here to share a storybook page using the Hip Hip Hooray Collection. For those of you who are going 'what's, storybook page?' Well, simply put, it is very similar to the very fast growing mode of scrapbooking called project life. I will be very honest with you.. this is my very first attempt at this current-in-trend scrapbooking method.

I have always wanted to have a go at it, but was worried that I may not be able to catch up and maybe even run out of photos to scrap. But the beauty of this is, you need not follow what everyone else is doing. You just need to go at your own pace.

Since I had the privilege of making one for my DT assignment this month, I must say, I LOVE this!! And the fact that Doodlebug Designs caters to this trend is simply amazing! Imagine the cute spreads you can come up with. Without further delay, here's my spread...

I chose to document my wish list for my two girls and instead of using the usual pink for girls, I wanted to try something different. I feel this theme turned perfect! Here are some close-ups:

What I did was to further embellish the simply put cards of the said collection and on the last photo,  I cut out a 12x2 strip of patterned paper and embellished it with washi tape!

Hip Hip Hooray: Three Layouts to Celebrate

by Jodi Wilton

Hi everyone! Jodi here today to share with you a layout I created using the new Hip Hip Hooray Collection! As soon as I saw the cute little monsters & robots, I knew I was going to have to dig up my son's 2 year old birthday party pictures! Once I saw the colors, I knew it would be perfect to showcase his party!

I had quite a few photos to work with, but I didn't want to give up any on the layout, so I decided to use all five in a grid like fashion.  I then added blocks of patterned paper, and built on each block with a journaling space, embellishments, and the title.

For the title, I used the word "birthday" from the icon cardstock stickers. I absolutely LOVED the font with the shadow effect, so I decided to create the second word of my title with a similar effect using the Tangerine Simply Sweet Cardstock Sticker on top, with the shadow bieng the Lily White Simply Sweet Cardstock Sticker! It is so easy to create this effect when Doodlebug has so many different colors in the same font. I also added some cute stickers to replace the O in boy, and added a small star sticker to dot the I (and extra cute title effect, don't you thing?)

My favorite part of the layout was working with the cute little monsters! They are just so adorable!I added the two already holding the balloons, and then added a third monster carrying two balloons, by using some doodlebug twine.

I simply LOVE the journaling stickers on the this & that sticker sheet! The spacing between the lines is perfect, and allows enough room to tell a story! I layered some more sticker on top too for some extra fun!

Finally for the last spot on my layout I added a large circle sticker from the this & that sticker sheet; but I wanted the sticker to be more dimensional so I popped it up with foam tape and added another popped up cake that fit perfectly on top. Along each side of my layout I also used the garland (yep a favorite of mine with this release!)

So I hope you enjoyed my walk-through of my creative process when creating this birthday layout! You will simple LOVE this line for all your birthday projects!

by Kathy Skou

Hi Everyone...Kathy here today to showcase a couple of fun layouts I created using the Hip Hip Hooray Collection.  I absolutely love this collection.  The colors are so cheery and those little monsters just captured my heart!  My problem ... I don't have any little guys in my life!  Besides my sweet husband...we are a household full of girls!  Lucky for me, Hip Hip Hooray is a very versatile collection.  I was easily able to come up with two layouts featuring a "different" side of this line.

My first layout showcases my husband and his "toy."  He always wanted a vintage Mustang, so last year he bought this beauty!

The coordinating washi, the papers and even many of the stickers can be used for more than birthday themed layouts.

The Life is Good was cut from one of the Simply Put cards
I created my title using a mix of different Doodlebug Alphas from the Teensy Type sheets.
My second layout features my two "not so little" monsters...Daisy and Rosie.

As I said...those little monsters from the Monsters- Icon Mini stickers are just too cute!  (Kind of like my kitties!)  I decided to showcase them as little "stamps."

Again...one of my favorite techniques, mixing and matching alphas for titles!
That's it for me today, thanks for stopping by!
