PARTY TIME - THE BIRTHDAY BOY 8.5X11 LAYOUT | with Maryám

A couple of months ago we celebrated my grandpa's 82nd birthday! We had a great day celebrating him and I wanted to document this big milestone in a layout. The collection I used for my project was Party Time because it was perfect for this occasion.

To create my layout, I started out by printing two big numbers- 8 and 2- onto an 8 x 10.5" inches white sheet of cardstock. I then carefully fussy cut them and used the negative pieces (A) as a template to trace the numbers onto another sheet of white cardstock (B) with a pencil.
Next, I grabbed some IconsTM and Mini IconsTM stickers and sprinklesTM from the Party Time collection and started to fill the numbers from cardstock (B). Once I finish I erased the pencil marks and adhered the negative piece (A) I cut earlier over the one with stickers (B).

Continuing with the process, I trimmed the Party Time Patterned Paper to 8.5 x 11" inches and adhered the cardstock (A&B together) with the numbers now completed.

Following up, I added my photo and positioned it over the bottom part of the layout. Since I had already added a bunch of elements to the numbers, I tried to kept the rest of the page pretty simple. I only added a few Chit ChatTM Pieces from the same collection and the date of the photo.
For the title of the page, I used a banner from the Chit ChatTM set that reads "The Birthday Boy!" and placed over the bottom part of my photo. I then added some more sprinklesTM and a few star stickers and that's it!
Let's take a look at the finished project!
I really enjoyed working with the Party Time collection. I hope you guys enjoyed this post too and liked the ideas I shared. If you have any questions just leave a comment below or send me an email and I'll be happy to help you.
Have an awesome day!

LAND THAT I LOVE | Geranium Box Card

Doodlebug's 4th of July Collections are always among my favorites and Land that I Love does not disappoint! I especially love the little icons in the collection.  When I saw the cute little Geranium with the flag, I immediately thought it would make a really fun box card, so that's what I made!

How sweet is that little smiley face on the plant pot??  I love the patterns in this collection.  They are of course perfect for patriotic projects, but they can also be used for other projects as well!  I combined them with some petite prints to complete the look.  And I just had to add some sprinkles!  The little star sprinkles are perfect.
I finished the card with the Hooray for the Red, White & Blue sentiment from the Chit Chat Pieces.

Have you made any projects using the Land That I Love Collection?  Be sure to tag Doodlebug Design on Facebook & Instagram.  We love to see your creations.  That's it for me today, thanks for stopping by to peek!

LAND THAT I LOVE - JULY 4 MINI ALBUM | with Traci

July 4th will be here before we know it and if you're like me, you're probably looking forward to all the picnics, parades, and fireworks this fun holiday has in store!  I hope you'll be taking lots of pictures, because Doodlebug has the cutest new collection dedicated to all things red, white, and blue!
For my newest album I used a red and white striped binder from Simple Stories (#perfect!) and then layered lots of cute Odds & Ends pieces on the cover.  No question what fun memories will be stored in this album!

Of course the red white and blue colors are great, but I love that Doodlebug added the pop of pistachio!  And that sweet little eagle is precious!

I added a fun acrylic page to this album.  It holds that darling 3x8 journaling card with the smily flower pot ... again, just too cute!

If I had to pick my favorite die cuts in this collection, it would probably be the fireworks!  My neighborhood does an amazing fireworks show every year, and my family is already looking forward to this year's celebration.  I hope I get a great picture for this page!

I know you are going to love all of the fun Land That I Love projects that the rest of the creative team will be sharing with you soon.  Until then, visit my blog for details on ordering this album as a DIY kit in my Artsy Albums shop.  Thank you everyone, and happy summer!!
