Sweet Summer | Fun Card Trio with Karen

Hello Summer! It's me! I was wondering if after all these months you like to meet...you know, to grow things, and stuff. They say the sun's supposed to heal ya, and I am ready for healing!!!
Okay, now that I am done with my little musical interlude, I am ready to welcome summer back with a cute new collection from Doodlebug called "Sweet Summer" (fitting, don't you think?)! This collection is filled with everything that is fun about summer - even the summers of my past! As a teacher and a mom summer marks the end of my year, so it is usually filled with thank-you cards and gifts galore! I thought it might be fun to see how I could use this collection to thank some of the special teachers that I have been able to work with this year, either as colleagues or as those that put up with my kids for the last 10 months! But not just any card was going to do! In fact, for these special people, only cards adorning my favorite character was going to suffice. Let me introduce you to Steven...Steven Sea-gull (isn't Doodlebug clever?)!
I first saw this cute guy at the Doodlebug booth for the Creativation show and I couldn't wait to craft up a project with him! So I went back to one of my tried and true card styles - the side step card! I love that this card allows me to feature an image or a sentiment, but also create a bit of a scene. Steven really wanted to be at the beach, so I kindly obliged! You will find these little versions of Steven in the Odds and Ends packs - the perfect embellishments for you card makers out there! And don't forget to give Steven a little voice for himself by adding a cute sentiment from the Chit Chat pack! And if the idea of a side-step card is a bit much for you, you can actually create a similar look on a regular A2 card as well simply by placing the majority of your embellishments on one side! Layer them on top of some cute mini doilies, add a few mini paperclips and Sprinkles and you are all done! Teacher thank-you cards checked off the list! Summer, I am so glad to see you coming just around the corner! In the meantime, I will have all sorts of fun with this great new collection! Thanks for stopping by!

Sweet Summer | Summer Planner Set Up with Jomell

There's just something about this Sweet Summer collection that makes me want to go to the beach and enjoy a refreshing Sangria. The colors are fun and bright and it's perfect for my Summer Planner Set Up.
It was so hard choosing which pieces to use from the odds & ends for my Summer Dashboard. After going through all the elements, I finally settled for the bike, palm tree, beach signs, surf board and the seagull.

I used fun summer color doilies and layered the pieces. I then used adhesive foam for the seagull and the bike to give them a 3D look. The sprinkles also added a little bit more character and made it look prettier.
As you may already know by now, I love decorating my planner pockets with all kinds of goodies. They're not so functional but they are oh so cute when I open my planner, don't you agree?
Those jelly clips looks so yummy. As a planner girl, I was super excited when Doodlebug came out with jelly clips that matches with all the new collections. There are 8 total jelly clips in this collection. They come in 4 jelly clips in one pack.
I haven't made an envelope for my planners in a while so I decided to make one for my Summer set up.
I chose the Summer Fun 12x12 cardstock and I used my Envelope Punch Board to make this. It's very easy to make.
I punched holes on the side of the envelope so that I can insert it in my planner. This envelope will hold the odds & ends pieces.
All planner girls loves washi tapes. Instead of carrying multiple rolls of washi tapes with me, I laminated a small piece of the patterned paper and I wrapped the washi tapes around maybe 10 times. I then added holes on the sides to insert in my planner.
I am so ready for Summer and I can't wait to head to the beach. Thank you for stopping by.

Sweet Summer | Beach Treat Set with Brigit

The Sweet Summer collection is filled with so many wonderful beachy icons it makes it so easy to put together an adorable summertime project.

Along with the sweet summer paper collection I used some of the svg cut files, you can get these individually or in a set from Lori Whitlock's shop. Most of the paper used is from the 12 x 12 sweet summer collection pack, also used lily white, chocolate chip textured cardstock, bumblebee and maple and gingham-linen petite print.

I used Lori Whitlock's sand pail shaped box file but the shovel and sand are from the sweet summer sand pail svg. The face on the shovel just made the box that much cuter and so did the summer sprinkles used for the cheeks. For the pail handle, I used a border from the punch plaid sheet and tied the shovel around it with some tangerine chunky twine. The boombox and cassettes are from the icon sticker sheet and the speech bubble from the chit chat pack.

I made the shaped card using the sweet summer bikini svg filling in the middle section and adding an outline layer and welding them together. The two little cassettes and music note are from the boom box doodle-pop, glasses, and flower from the icon sticker sheet and speech bubble from the chit chat pack. I think it made such a cute card.

Thanks for stopping by, have a wonderful day!
