CUPCAKE MINI FLIP ALBUM | with Shellye

Hip Hip Hooray for birthdays!  Shellye here today with my first ever flip-style mini album. It's so easy to put together and makes an adorable addition to a table display.  Aside from adding small photos to it, guests can also write little notes inside the pages:

To get started I created the triangular base from a 5"X9" sheet of patterned paper and three pieces of chipboard that measured 3.5"X5" (two pieces) and 2"X5".  I placed the chipboard onto the paper as below:

After attaching the chipboard to the paper, I made creases in between the chipboard pieces and folded.  Next, I used a hole punch to make two sets of holes on both pieces of the 3.5" pages:
As you can see above, I also made a small paper topper to hold the base together at the top.
I wanted to make a cleaner transition between the topper and below, so I used the scallop border from the new Doodle Cuts "Borders& Edges" to cut a blue border from cardstock.
For the cover I made a mat with the "Large Tags" Doodle Cuts and then layered with a Doodle Pop, buttons and Chit Chat Die Cut!
I simply crafted the inner pages (as well as the cover above)  from a 4.25"X 6.5" paper that was folded in half.  I corner rounded the bottom edges after folding and hole punched the top.
All sorts of Doodle Cuts were used to make tags and mats for the following pages:
After decorating all of the pages, I used two 1" rings to clip them to the base.  Bows of ribbons were tied on and it's done!

Thankful for Nature Book

Hello Doodlebug friends!  Shellye along today with a
"Thankful For Nature" Board Book that I created with "Happy Camper"
and "Friendly Forrest" Collections.

Both of the collections are filled with the cutest critters, so I wanted to showcase them in the form of a board book!  I started with a couple of 4.5"X5.5" dies by Top Dog Dies and sheets of heavyweight chipboard.

I used some assorted alphabet stickers for the cover.

I cut the base pages from 12X12 papers and the oval inset was cut from 6X6 papers...I love the mix of larger prints with the smaller ones!

I'ved added some of the new glittered enamel dots, but if you're making the book for a smaller child, you may want to try hand-tied buttons or brads instead.

The new "Chippers" chipboard alphas are perfect for spelling out smaller words!

Doodle Pops and stickers layered on with foam adhesive add interest, as well as dimension!

Again, if you're making a similar board book for a small child, you may also consider
laminating the pages and forgoing the dimensional embellishments.  Choose critters that are indigenous to your area and go on a nature hike scavenger hunt in search of them :)

Thanks for joining me today at Doodlebug Design!

Happy Camper: Double the Fun with Two Awesome Layouts

Gone Camping Layout
by Jodi Wilton

Hi everyone! Jodi here today to share with a new layout I created using the most adorable collection- HAPPY CAMPER! We are big campers in my house, and I can see me using every last scrap of this collection, as it is so cute, and perfect for any outdoor or nature photos!  Here is the layout I created:

I fell in love the campground piece of patterned paper, and wanted to make sure that I incorporated it into my layout! I added a 3 X 12 inch piece at the bottom and I also added a 3 X 12 inch piece of the bear necessities piece of patterned paper at the top. In the middle of the layout I added a 6 X 12 piece of happy camper piece of patterned paper.  These three pieces were the base of my layout.  I then started to add the embellishments and photos. I added a limeade doily and layered on top some stickers from the Icon Sticker sheet... I LOVE all the critters on this sheet!

I then used four of the fancy frills stickers from this collection to add some interest to the top and bottom of the layout. Finally I added a few extra touches from the This & That Sticker Sheet.

Hope you enjoyed my Happy Camper Project today!

Happy Fishin' Layout
by Shellye McDaniel

Hello, everyone!  Shellye here today with a "Happy Campers" Layout.
I was so happy that my guys returned home from their annual fishing trip with some really great photos...I think I've gotten almost every single one on a scrapbook page all ready :)

One thing that I love about being on the water is seeing the reflection of the trees, mountains, etc. in it!  I had two chipboard trees on hand, so I dressed those up in patterned paper and used them as an accent similar to a reflection upon the water.

The top tree was a great space for journaling.

I used two of the new Mini Clothespins at the top of the photo strip so that it appears that the pictures are hanging.

I cut the "Happy Camper" Sticker in half and completed the title of my layout with
the new Chippers adhesive alphabet stickers!

"Happy Campers" can be used for any of your camping, hiking, fishing, hunting and
even smores-making photos!  You will love all of the cute critters and fun nostalgic icons like the vintage RV and cozy campfires :)

Thanks for letting me share with you today!
