Pinterest Inspired Challenge: A to Z Framed Art by Courtney Lee

Hello! It's Courtney Lee from Court's Crafts here and the ABC's are a big deal in my house. With daughters 4, 3, and almost 1.5 years they are constantly spelling, writing, memorizing, rhyming, and learning! I thought this would be a SUPER fun thing for them to have on their wall and Doodlebug has SO many animals in their At the Zoo collection that I wasn't missing very many to make up the whole alphabet!

I was inspired by this set of wall decals HERE.

It's already working! The girls are LOVING it and Charlotte (3) is learning her letters a la doodlebug! I mixed up doodle-pops, icons, and mini icons to make up the bulk of the animals. There is one shaped sprinkle (dog) thrown in there as well.

My girls and I all love elephants so that was the obvious choice for E. Their other favorite peacock to watch videos of was the peacock and I really loved that little waterfall and wanted to get it in there as well. They LOVED that for W.

I did run into a problem for I, N, Q, V, X and Y. I googled all animals that began with those letters and they were few and far between! So I chose my favorite or shortest ones and used the upper case letter to emphasize it and the lower case letters to spell out the rest of the word. It worked nicely and gave the piece some visual interest.

I borrowed the jellyfish from an older doodlebug line, but look at that fabulous flamingo doodle-pop and that adorable kangaroo and joey!

To fit them all in I did measure out the letters on a paper next to it so I knew about how much space I had and I just worked from top left to bottom right line by line although for the waterfall, I wanted to make sure it fit - so I worked from right to left on that line.

I hope you enjoyed this project and as I used letters that were gender neutral in color my girls can enjoy this and hopefully I can pass it along to someone else as a shower gift in the future! Animals are so "in" right now so grab some At the Zoo and craft up a storm!

Anchors Aweigh Collection: 'Name Frame' by Melinda

Seriously, Anchors Aweigh has to be the cutest little boy's collection ever and the reason why I had such a hard time convincing my four year old that he was to 'STAY AWAY from the stickers'! Usually I'd let him choose a sticker off my icon sheet and hope like mad he didn't take my favourite. However, this time he did get to choose where to place some of the icons seeing as this frame is for HIS bedroom wall.

As with all my collage circles I lay down the largest pieces first, however this time I had to take into account my son's name. Then it was a matter of filling in the gaps!

My new motto: If you can't decide which stickers to use... use them all!

I love adding Doodle Pops as they are exactly the same size as the larger stickers on the Icon Sheet yet they are mounted with a duplicate using foam pop dots which adds wonderful dimension to the project.

The complete Anchors Aweigh collection can be viewed HERE.

Thank you for stopping by today and don't forget next week we start sharing our projects using Anchors Aweigh sister collection 'UNDER THE SEA' where I will revealing another name frame.

Anchors Aweigh Collection: Lighthouse Favor Box by Corri

Hi everyone!  Corri here today sharing a couple of projects using the Anchors Aweigh Collection.  This is such a fun collection with lots of versatile patterns and adorable icons.  I knew right away I wanted to do something with a lighthouse.  I browsed around the Silhouette Store and found this adorable 3d Lighthouse Favor Box.
I selected the 50 knots and Little Sailor patterned paper for the top of my lighthouse and blue jean Swiss Dot for my box base.  I love how all the card stock matches the collections perfectly.  I embellished the front of my lighthouse with some sticker Icons and matte sprinkles. For my matching card, I trimmed one of the 2 x 2 cards from the 6" x 6" paper pad and added some stickers from the Icons sheet and the This and That Stickers.  I finished off my card with the matte sprinkles and a bow made from blue jean Doodletwine.
I hope you like this  nautical themed gift set!  Be sure to stop by all week for more fun projects using the Anchors Aweigh Collection.
