A NEW DESIGN TEAM MEMBER | Introducing Maryám Pérez

We are absolutely thrilled to welcome
another wonderful designer to our team.
Please could you make welcome the amazingly talented
Maryám Pérez.

Hello - my name is Maryám Pérez and I’m a 17-year-old senior high school student. I live in Osorno, which is a city located in the south of Chile, with my parents and younger sister. I’m passionate about scrapbooking, photography, memory keeping, and even though my style has definitely evolved over the years, I describe it as fun, fresh, and colorful. In my not so free time, I also love to design, to sing, and to help my sister bake cookies and decorate cakes.

I was excited to receive my first design team box and couldn't wait to start working with the brand new Candy Carnival collection. One of my favorite papers from this collection is actually named 'Candy Carnival' - yes, just like the name of the collection - because I am a big fan of colors and I also love tickets and that’s why as soon as I saw it I knew that I wanted to create a project featuring all the colorful tickets.

The first thing I did was to fussy cut some of the tickets, adhere them to white cardstock and then punched some holes around each of them and added hand stitching using a matching color of embroidery thread. After I finished that part, I went ahead and pulled out some of the odds&endsTM pieces and choose some stars that coordinated with the tickets and adhered them to the page.

The next part of the process was adding all the embellishments! I always have so much fun in this part, and this time was no exception, but I have to say that I had a very hard time choosing embellishments because they were all so cute and I wanted to use one of everything. In the end, I decided to use some of shape sprinklesTM from the Candy Carnival Collection and adhered a few of them here and there. I also added a few doddle-popsTM animals and some gold embossed hearts from the Trick or Treat Doodle StampsTM.

And last, but not least, I put my photo on the right side of the page, added the title using the Teensy Type Beetle Black Cardstock Stickers and my journaling.

That is it for today! Thank you so much for stopping by and I hope you have a wonderful weekend!
