SUMMER FUN CARDS | with Tya
Hello crafty friends! Today, I am so excited to share a bright and cheery set of cards I created for my latest Doodlebug Design team project. I pulled out the Summer Fun collection and paired it with the coordinating Cards & Envelopes Kit for my bases. The pattern papers are all from the 6x8 Paper Pad, and lots of ephemera and stickers. The result? Six happy little greetings that are perfect for sending sunshine to someone special! Let’s dive into the details of each card.
Card 1 – Tropical Hello
For this first card, I layered a square stitched white cardstock panel over a bold floral blue card base and added a Tangerine doily to bring in lots of summer warmth. I used the beautiful pink scallop "This is Paradise" sticker from the This and That sticker sheet as a base to layer up. The Palm trees, a suitcase, and a seagull , found on one of the Odds and Ends die cuts, create a fun little island scene. I added a pretty blue flower with a shiny yellow Sprinkle to the center, and a cute aqua speech bubble from the Chit Chat, then finished it off with a big bold “hello” sentiment also found in the Chit Chat die cuts. This one just screams vacation vibes!
Card 2 – Beach Sign Hello
Here, I chose a navy Textured Cardstock base and layered on polka dots, plaid, and some Bubblegum Textured Cardstock for a playful background. Tucked into the side is the fun notebook paper with the sun piece from the Bits and Pieces. I added a cute Puffy Sticker Icons sun to the top of the sun on the card. The star of the show is the colorful beach sign, from the Odds and Ends, stacked with words like “fun,” “surf,” and “drinks.” Notice the tiny Puffy Sticker hearts on the sign - they are from the Puffy Word Stickers. A rainbow-striped chair and a happy little seagull, from the Odds and Ends, make it feel like a true day at the beach. I added a small “hello” speech bubble, from the Chit Chat, to tie the whole scene together.
Card 3 – Surf’s Up Birthday
This card is a birthday treat featuring rows of surfboards , from the Odds and Ends, decked out in bright solids and floral patterns. I layered this on top of one of the 3x4 cards found on the Flamazing Flock paper. I love seeing if my die cuts can be added on top of matching graphics for a more 3D look. Tucked behind the card is a pretty Orange Plaid Tag, from the Beach Picnic paper, tied with some jute twine. I added a playful red crab- he's from the Odds and Ends as well, waving hello at the bottom, along with a wave border die cut for that perfect ocean feel. The sentiment banner across the top reads “happy birthday,” making it ideal for any summer-loving friend. That little cutie is from the Puffy Stickers Words pack.
Card 4 – Birthday Laundry Line
How fun is this one? I loved this little array of beachy, summer clothing die cut from the Chit Chat! I added it across the top of the card. I used the adorable white and blue dot paper from the 6x8 paper pad and some bright green Textured Cardstock as my base. A green chameleon Icon Sticker hangs out on one side, while orange flowers, from the Bits and Pieces and Icon Stickers, brighten the corners. The bold “happy birthday” sentiment, found on the Puffy Stickers Words sheet, anchors the design beautifully. It’s whimsical and just plain fun!
Card 5 – Adventure Awaits
This card sets sail with a big cruise ship from the Odds and Ends, as the centerpiece, framed by colorful layered rectangles using a 3x4 card from the Beach Towel paper, white cardstock, and some pink floral 6x8 paper. I added a playful dolphin, a ship’s wheel, both from the Odds and Ends, and lots of bright florals, from the Bits and Pieces, to tie in the tropical theme. The sentiment, “best wishes on your adventure,” makes it perfect for a graduation, bon voyage, or any new journey. Notice the pretty Tangerine Doily and the shiny Sprinkles found on the flower centers! If I can, I almost always add a Sprinkle to my flower centers for added dimension and fun!
Card 6 – Wish You Were Here
Last but not least, this one is inspired by beachside cottages. I used three striped beach huts, found in the Odds and Ends, in sunny shades of orange, blue, and pink as the focal point. A little crab, starfish, flower, and shells- all Puffy Stickers Icons- anchor the sandy bottom, which is just some light brown Textured Cardstock I tore to make it look more like sand. I tied jute bows to the flagpoles for extra texture and added the sentiment banner “wish you were here”, from the Chit Chat, across the top. It’s the sweetest way to send a bit of beachy love.
I had so much fun putting this set together! The Summer Fun collection is packed with so many happy icons, patterns, and colors that the possibilities are endless. Pairing it with the coordinating Cards & Envelopes Kit made it so easy to create cohesive, polished greetings.
Thank you so much for stopping by the blog today! I hope these sweet and sunny salutations inspire you to create a few cheerful cards of your own. After all, nothing brightens someone’s day like happy mail straight from the heart.

SUMMER FUN FLAMAING CARDS | with Karen
Hey everyone! Today I am so excited to share with you a little card set that sort of created itself using the adorable Flamazing Doodle Stamps that coordinate with the new Summer Fun collection. It was not at all what I had designed in my head but as I started creating, the flamingos just seemed to tell me they wanted to go in a different direction. And I say, always listen to the flamingos!
The Summer Fun collection is a really bright and bold collection, so when I first started colouring up these flamingos, I imagined that I would back my cards with some of the fun bold blues and pinks that you can find in a variety of the patterned paper. But as I started laying the flamingos out on the card bases that I used from the Summer Cards & Envelopes set, the flamingos decided that they really wanted to be the starts of the show. And really, they are so cute and tranquil that I couldn't argue! Although I love all the papers in this collection, the flamingos could really stand on their own (see what I did there?!).
So, on one card, I simply used a Mini Doily in Bubblegum as the background and then layered the stamps on top, finishing it off with a few Mini Jewels, also in Bubblegum. And to create a bit of extra dimension, I stamped the flamingo twice just to be able to cut out the wing and adhere it with some foam adhesive so it stuck up a bit. I also added one of the palm tree stamps and a few leaves which I cut out with the coordinating Flamazing Doodle Cuts to enhance the shape of the doily.
On the other two cards I did use a bit of the patterned paper together with a doily (in bubblegum and swimming pool) and a small piece of textured cardstock in Swimming Pool for a mat. Polka Dot Bikini and Water Babies in the 12x12 were my choice because I wanted a simple patterned paper that just added a bit of colour and didn't outshine the flamingos (like that was possible). On these two cards I also cut out a second flamingo for the wing to layer but instead of using foam adhesive, I just glued it towards the round end (where it would attach to a flamingo in theory) and left the rest for that layered look without the bulk.
These cards give off a light and airy feel - a little more clean and simple than I was planning with this collection. But I love them that way, and I love that you can take a collection like Summer Fun and create something totally different.
I hope you love these beautiful flamingos as much as I do! I think it's fair to say that they knew what they needed! Thanks for stopping by! Hugs,

BEE HAPPY TWIST POP CARDS | with Karen
Oh, the sweetness! It's time for another Bee Happy project post from me and I could not "bee" more excited to share with you today! It's birthday time in my house and it seemed like the perfect occasion to use some of the cutest Doodlebug papers and products ever.
I decided to create a couple of pop up twist cards. If you have never made one of these types of cards before, you are in for a treat. While from the front it looks like a regular card, when you open it up...
...it twists and pops right out at you (I have this process and measurements memorized, but I am pretty sure that I first learned how to make them from this Splitcoaststampers tutorial - a quick search of "pop up twist cards" will provide you with many, many tutorials).
The best part about this card style is that there is so much room to play with products like the dies cuts from the All the Things pack. You can layer them to create cute little scenes on the front...
...and then have just as much fun on the four panels on the inside with messages and characters! Use some foam adhesive to give even more dimension to the little scenes. And don't forget to top off our creations with some mini jewels or layer on top of some mini doilies for even more texture!
Celebrating birthdays is always fun - but doing it in Doodlebug style takes it to the next level! Thanks for stopping by! Hugs,

BEE HAPPY CUTE CARDS | with Karen
Sometimes I sit down at my crafty table and I just can't bee-lieve my luck. I mean, how many people get a chance to regularly work with the cutest products on the market? The new Bee Happy mini collection from Doodlebug is un-bee-lieaveably adorable. And if you are lucky like me and a get a chance to craft with it, you will bee smiling from ear to ear the whole time!
Okay, enough with the puns - let's get serious! :) For my first project, I decided to whip up some cards. Using some Doodlebug Cards and Envelopes for the base, I grabbed some of my favourite patterns from the 6x8 patterned paper to form a little frame.
Then I chose some adorable die cuts from the All the Things pack for the focal point on each. I couldn't resist featuring bees on each of these cards, but there are so many designs that you could try a number of different themes (but let's bee real - if you don't loves the bees as much as I do, we cannot be friends).
I also added a little sentiment from the same die cut pack. There a bunch of different ones to work with for a variety of occasions. A couple of mini paper clips and some coordinating sprinkles and these cards are ready for their debut.
I mean, come on - how cute is that face? Don't bee afraid to play with layers here. Some well placed foam adhesive and a little bend on the wings can really make the dies cute pop off of the card!
And that's it! A set of cards that can bee the reason someone smiles today - if you're willing to give them away, that is (I won't judge). Now I really am done with the puns! Thanks for stopping by! Hugs,

BERRY SWEET CARDS AND TAGS | with Tya
I had a great time crafting a set of handmade cards and tags using the Berry Sweet collection. With its bright colors, happy strawberries, and cheerful critters, this collection practically crafts itself. Let’s take a closer look at each piece and what I used to create it.
Card 1: Home Sweet Home:
This charming card features the cutest pink house die cut from the All the Things pack. I layered it over a red doily and a patterned circle from the 6x8 Paper Pad. A “Home Sweet Home” sentiment banner and a playful mouse from the Icon Stickers bring extra charm. I finished it off with a bow made from Doodle Twine and a few enamel dots for added texture.
Card 2: So Happy Together
I used layered rectangles of some of my favorite papers from the 6x8 Paper Pad to frame the adorable strawberry couple (from the All the Things ephemera). The “So Happy Together” card is actually a 3x4 cut-apart piece, and a little bird and daisy sticker from the Icon Stickers add sweet final touches.
Card 3: Love You Cupcake Tags
This card is actually two tags mounted onto a card base—each one featuring a cupcake topped with a strawberry and florals from the All the Things die cuts. I added a scalloped border sticker, from the This and That stickers, yellow Doodle Twine, and those irresistible mice from the Puffy Stickers. The “love you” sentiment is layered over a green polka dot paper and pink strawberry paper for extra sweetness.
Card 4: Just for You Berry Truck
The blue gingham berry truck from All the Things steals the show here! I used floral and red dot papers from the 6x8 Paper Pad, and the red polka dot strip grounds the design. A cute mouse reaches for a strawberry in the back of the truck, and a “Just for You” banner finishes it off. A bit of yellow Doodle Twine wraps it all up!
Card 5: Berry Best Friends Grid Card
I created a 4-square grid on a red polka dot background to showcase four different berry-themed scenes from the All the Things and Icon Stickers. There’s a berry basket, a teacup filled with fruit, and the sweetest little mouse. A “Berry Best Friends” banner and hearts from the All the Things complete this playful card.
I also made 4 tags with some large white tags from my stash. I love making tags because I love playing with all the layers and all of the embellishments with the Berry Sweet collection.
Here are some brief descriptions of each of the tags:
Tag 1: Hello Berry Basket Prize Ribbon:
This tag features a crepe paper rosette base layered over a pink tag from the Tag Paper. I used crepe paper for added dimension, a green polka dot paper tail, and a “hello” sentiment from the All the Things. The smiling berry basket from the This and That stickers sits center stage.
Tag 2: Life is Sweet Basket Tag
A mint Berry Basket Doodle pop layered over bold strawberry patterned paper sets the tone here. I used a pink crepe paper ruffle along the bottom, layered hearts, and a “Life is Sweet” sentiment sticker. This tag screams summer!
Tag 3: The Good Life Lemonade Tag
Pink plaid and bright florals make this tag the perfect background for the adorable lemonade pitcher and glass from the All the Things. I layered up one of the This and That stickers with the die cuts that matched for some added dimension. I added a “The Good Life” sentiment strip and a few hearts and strawberries for that fruity pop.
Tag 4: Sweet Memories Mouse Tag
This tag features a layered floral tag for the base with the cutest mouse holding a strawberry. I also added a front-facing bicycle die cut for some depth. The “Sweet Memories” oval sentiment finishes it off, with some enamel dots for a little shine.
Thank you so much for stopping by today! I hope these Berry Sweet cards and tags brightened your day and gave you a little inspiration to dive into this adorable collection. Whether you’re making tags, cards, or anything in between, this collection is full of juicy, joy-filled possibilities.
Go grab some strawberries (and maybe a few stickers) and get crafty! See you next time!
