LAND THAT I LOVE PARTY KIT | with Miguel

Celebrating and being proud of the country where we were born and raised is something incredible!  So let´s talk about the project that I came up with for the beautiful Land That I Love Collection.  Here in Mexico,  where I was born and raised,  we celebrate our independence day on September 15th.  I closed my eyes and just imagined this project to celebrate that great day, but now in an American version!

I made a box with cardboard  in which I took great care of the measurements with the intention of matching the 2" x 2" cards that the collection includes for my cover.  The project is designed as a party kit to celebrate with family and friends.

Inside the box I included some party supplies like glasses, napkins, snacks and some super fun glasses!!! Everything is decorated for the celebration!

I love adding fun details to my projects.  My favorite part in this one is the how the mini jewels give the illusion of fireworks by adding some flash!

Goodbye for today, as always I hope I have inspired you to create something fun this coming July

LAND THAT I LOVE MINI ALBUM | with Ashley

Hi All! Today I am sharing a cute way to document your 4th of July memories! I used the Land That I Love Collection to make a mini album.

I started with heavy weight chipboard and lined that with the polka dot paper. Along the spine, I used sprinkles and mini jewels on each of the polka dots. Took a bit of time, but I love the end result! The front cover also has one of the doodle-pop images from the collection.

On the inside, I used a hinge binding. This allowed for 4 pocket pages, each with a card insert for extra space.

The first page, I used my cameo to cut out a series of stars that I backed with vellum and then adhered onto the page as a flip-up element.

Each of the inserts opens up as a card. I kept the page decorating minimal for a clean and sleek look even with all the bold colors.

I hope you liked seeing this project. Happy Crafting!

LAND THAT I LOVE BOX CARD | with Kathy

I love the 4th of July.  We usually get together with friends to celebrate and watch the fireworks on our boat.  It's always such a great time !  So of when I got a chance to play with some Land That I Love collection I thought it would be fun to create a fireworks card.  Take a peek...

For the base of my card I altered one of Lori Whitlock's Envelope Box Card Files.   I made the base from some of the Hip Hop Hooray and the graph side of the America the Beautiful papers. Then I started to work decorating it!

For the fireworks I combined stickers from both the Icon and Mini Icon sheets.  I love that they are different sizes!  The flags are from the Odds & Ends Pack.

And of course I had to have someone setting off the fireworks!  I love the little Sammy eagle DoodlePop... I thought he added the perfect amount of dimension and his little beak is adorable..  I have him holding one of the fireworks from the Firecrackers DoodlePops.  Yes, I used DoodlePops!  Usually I just like to hoard them!

For my sentiment I combined the July 4th from the Mini Icon Stickers and the happy sticker from the This and That Sheet.

Now if I remember to mail the card I'll be in good shape!  In celebration of the 4th of July, I'm having a fun Doodlebug Giveaway over on my Instagram account... @ekskou.  Head on over to enter to win a Land that I love prize!  If you've created any projects with Land that I Love, be sure to tag Doodlebug Design on Facebook and Instagram, we love to see what you make!  That's it for me today, thanks for stopping by to peek!

LAND THAT I LOVE PATRIOTIC DÉCOR | with Wanda

Hey Doodlebug Friends! It's almost 4th of July, and time to decorate for your festivities! I love a good patriotic craft project and I'm here today to share what I made for this year's party - using the awesome Land That I love Paper Collection! Red, White and Blue never ever goes out of style. This project will translate to any party theme by changing which paper collection you use. These festive papers are so bright, and I adore the embellishments that come in this collection - especially that little eagle with the Uncle Sam hat!

These are called fans, rosettes, or medallions and they're super easy to make. I used a die to make mine but it's very easy to make with some simple tools - a paper cutter and a Scoring Board! I made five rosettes and the a garland to match.

For this rosette, I layered two rosettes! I glued them together with liquid glue and then embellished them with cardstock stickers and Doodle Pops. The Land That I Love stickers are perfect for this project! If you're doing these by hand start by cutting a 12x12 piece of paper into 4 6x6 squares. Use your Scoring Board and score and fold each square back and forth accordian style at 1/2 inch intervals. Once your smaller fans are folded, glue then together. I used eight pieces, or two 12x 12 papers for each one. To make them larger or smaller, simply cut off part of the pieces before gluing them together!

It's easy to be festive! Just decorate with your garland and rosettes, get some festive straws and plates at the craft store....and start celebrating!

Here is a close up of those gorgeous Land That I Love papers!

I used stickers and Odds & Ends to decorate the centers of the rosettes.

To make the garland, I used Doodlebug Chunky twine and glued the paper pieces from the Odds & Ends pack onto the twine. I added some mini jewels into the center of all of them for a bit of sparkle.

That's it for today! I am wishing you a happy 4th of July and a fun Summer season! See you back here real soon!

LAND THAT I LOVE JULY 4th MINI ALBUM | with Traci

Hello friends!  I'm back from a weekend trip to see family in Southport, NC and I was inspired to make an album based on that trip.  Spending summers in Southport was a big part of my childhood, and fourth of July celebrations are a big part of Southport's history.  When I got back to Georgia, I knew I wanted a July 4th/Southport inspired album.

This mini is small at 6x6", but it packs lots of cuteness between the clear acrylic covers.  I layered a 3x4 July 4th card (cut down to 3x4") on the clear cover, along with some fun mini icon firework and star stickers.

I used a 6x6 paper pad for this album and I love how the smaller print of the border paper (polka dot parade) looks at the top of the cover.  Those little flags with the hearts are adorable!!

I cut out a row of three 3x4" cards from the 12x12 Summer Streamers paper and scored a line between each card.  Once I folded the cards up, it made for a fun tri-fold element in my album!

I added some ladybug buffalo check petite prints throughout the album too.  It reminds me of the perfect Fourth of July picnic!

Finally, a pocket completes the album, along with a journaling card to document the day's fun activities. I hope the Land That I Love collection will inspire you to save your ladybug, lilyvwhite, and blue jean ;) memories!

LAND THAT I LOVE ALL AMERICAN LAYOUT | with Erica

Hey Friends! I am so excited for warmer weather and counting down the days until July 4th! The kids and I love to hit up the Dollar Stores and pick up some fun glasses and accessories we can wear on the 4th!

Little Liam picked up some sweet star sunglasses that he has been wearing everyday since we got them! I might have to pick up a back-up pair in case these get lost! In addition to our fun and funky accessories I like to get the kids some t-shirts with red white and blue! I know I can not be the only one who does this! I mean we do need to scrapbook these memories right? We might as well have matching outfits to match our collections!

The Doodlebug Design Land That I Love collection is perfect for all your July memories! If you out watching the fireworks, getting ice cream or just having a fun photo shoot showing off your red, white and blue!

I had this great star cut file in my stash and knew it would be perfect to back with papers from the Land That I Love collection. I also used some of my photo of Liam to back some of the stars! For the largest star I adhered my 4x6 photo behind it but leaving the true shape of the photo. Once this was adhered I then back the rest of the large star with some 12x12 pattern paper from the same collection!

I just love the way that it turned out! I embellished around the layout with some Land That I Love ephemera, stickers and sprinkles! I added a border sticker to the top and bottom of the page to help frame the layout.

I could not create a Doodlebug Layout without a Doodle-pop so I used this super cute firecracker and popped him up on the layout!! His little face just makes me smile!

This layout was so fun to create and I love that I was able to get 5 photos on this page! If you are looking for the perfect collection to document your July memories make sure you pick up Land That I Love!

LAND THAT I LOVE MASCULINE CARDS | with Karen

I have a bit of a confession to make. I find it 100 times easier to make feminine-themed cards than masculine themed cards. So, this last weekend, as I celebrated 4 different men in my life for different reasons, I decided it was time to sit down and see what I could come up with.

  Card-1

The Land that I Love collection was the perfect solution. While it has an American theme, it is versatile enough to create everything from birthday cards...

Closeup-2

...to graduation cards...

All-4

...to Father's day cards! With the 12x12 papers used together with the Odd and Ends die cuts, these cards became a layering bonanza! I love that they are still class Doodlebug cute, but totally appropriate not only for the guys, but for my Canadian guys.

Close-up-1

So, while I have this last weekend's celebrations totally taken care of, it's probably time to top off the masculine side of my card stash! Back to the crafty table!  Thanks for stopping by!
