Who doesn't love a touch of cuteness in their home?!  Well, there is nothing cuter than the new Shadow Box Inserts from Doodlebug.  And to make it even cuter, I have chosen the new  Fairy Garden Insert to create a new décor piece for my dresser.

I followed the step-by-step instructions to create the vignette on top of the vellum piece from the kit

I chose different widths of foam adhesive when attaching some of the stickers to the vellum.  I love the play on dimension and different heights in the pieces.

I decided to cut the white cardstock into an circle to match the circumference of embellishments, then mounted it on a piece of Bubblegum petite prints.

To finish my piece, I am thinking about rotating the sentiment piece on the shadow box, so that it always feels new on my dresser. Make sure you check the new Shadow boxes and inserts from Doodlebug, you are going to love them!

SHADOWBOX INSERT KITS SPECIAL DELIVERY & BUNDLE OF JOY | with Kathy

There's not much more special than a new baby... unless it's two new babies!  My cousin and his wife are expecting twins... a boy and a girl!  We are all so excited for them!  Of course, as soon as I saw the new Shadowbox Insert Kits for Special Delivery and Bundle of Joy I knew I had the perfect gift for the new parents!  I set to work immediately!  Take a peek....

These insert kits are super easy and fun to put together.  They come with all of the stickers, jewels and sprinkles you need, along with a fabulous guide.  You just need to add some pop-dots and foam strips.  I love the Scrapbook Adhesives 3D Foam Squares and 3D foam Strips.  They are the perfect size and width for some of the more delicate stickers. 

To start, you will want to trim the included vellum piece to be 8"x 8".  Then using washi tape (or very low tack tape) center the vellum over the template and secure.  Now for the fun part, embellish! I find it easiest to start with the jewels.  

Next I add the shaped sprinkles which are noted on the template with an "S".  If there's an X with the S, it means to use a foam dot on that sprinkle to pop it up.

Once the sprinkles were done, I added the stickers.  Some stickers are flat while others are popped up... as indicated by an X on the template.  I find it easiest to do all the flat stickers first, then the popped up ones.

This is where the thin pop up strips come in handy.  They can be cut to fit the smallest pieces. Of course you can use any type of foam tape or pop dots.

Once you've got all the stickers done, just check to make sure you haven't missed any spaces.

The kit also comes with a piece of white cardstock to back the vellum.  I trimmed that to be 8"x 8", and added it behind the vellum in the frame.  You can also use patterned paper if you prefer.

These shadowboxes were a big hit with the parents to be... I can't wait to see them in the nursery!  That's it for me today, thanks for stopping by to peek!

SHADOWBOX INSERT KITS MADE WITH LOVE ALBUM | with Traci

Hey friends! Today, I'm sharing a new project that I created with the Made With Love collection and matching Shadow Box Insert Kit. It's a cute recipe album that stores all of your 4x6 recipe cards in Storybook page protectors. It will keep them organized and safe from messy fingers. Take a look ...

I started by cutting two 9.5" x 8.5" covers out of white acrylic. You could easily use chipboard or card stock for these instead.

I added the Cupcake Cuties paper to the front for a little color, the "baked with love" piece from the This & That stickers and layered two of the utensil container icon stickers in the corner.

Inside, I used the Shadow Box Insert Kit on the first page. It comes with a circle template, card stock, vellum and tons of stickers to create this adorable collage. The kit is really fun and it's also pretty relaxing. You place each sticker on the vellum with the help of a template behind it - then remove the template. So cute!!

To hold the recipes, I used one package of the 8x8 page protectors (10) that hold 4x6 cards. You could add as many pages to this as you want, as long as the binding rings are large enough. I used 1" rings for mine.

This would be a fun gift for anyone but imagine if you organized this for a new bride! Before sending out the shower invitations ... include a recipe card and a return envelope. Then as you receive everyone’s favorite recipes, add them to this cute album. The bride will love this sweet gift!

OOOOOOOOH Ya!!!!! I'm sorry - I didn't mean to start this post by yelling at you, but I am so excited to share today's post with you. I am totally and completely obsessed with Doodlebug's new Shadow Box inserts. And by obsessed, I am talking about "hoard all your Doodle-pops" obsessed. I know you know what I mean.

Not only are these inserts filled with all the cute Doodlebug you can imagine, they are incredibly fun to put together. I may have ordered 10 and put together 7 of them the morning I opened them. The only reason I didn't do more is that my daughters stole the other 3 to do themselves. I see the perfect opportunity for a girl's crafting night with this product! Grab your foam adhesive and your favourite friends and you will be laughing and creating in no time - no crafting experience needed. Just follow the templates and voila!

I mean, come on!!! The seagulls in the Sweet Summer insert are as cute as it gets.

And while I may have had to explain what this was to my daughters, feeling old and nostalgic was made fun while crafting with this product.

And here's my little tip for you - if you become a hoarder....ummmm, I mean "collector" of these inserts like I have already clearly become, Doodlebug's 8x8 albums are a perfect place to store and admire your inserts while you wait to move them into your shadow boxes for the season. Because you know you are going to want to have one for every season - or maybe every month! :)

SHADOWBOX INSERT KITS CUTE & CRAFTY | with Wanda

Hello Doodlebug Friends and Fans! Wanda here today to share a super fun project with you! I am so excited to share my Cute and Crafty Shadowbox project today. Have you seen the awesome shadow boxes and inserts? What a cool concept! I knew right away I wanted to make one for my craft room. So of course I chose the Cute and Crafty Insert!! This came together so quickly and easily and it looks cute on the shelf in my room. I also think this would make an excellent gift. There are so many inserts - for a baby shower gift, or a Christmas gift, or for someone who loves Halloween! I also really think this could be a fun group project. Be sure to check out all of them!

I chose the brown frame for my project. I splattered on some white paint for a bit of an artistic look. You could also easily paint your frame any color - and I may paint mine - but I'll decide later! The frames come in white, black and brown. The insert pack comes with everything you need to put it together.

 I added some cute flowers and a sentiment from the Cute & Crafty Collection to the bottom corner of my frame! 

 These are all the items that come in your insert kit.

 The kit comes with a sheet of vellum and you place the pattern behind it and attach all the goodies!! I swapped out some of the stickers with glossy hearts and glossy flowers from other Sprinkles packs.

Once it's finished, replace the glass and put your choice of paper behind the design... it comes with a piece of white cardstock, but I chose pretty yellow 12x12 gingham! SO cheerful!

 

 How much fun is this??? SO FUN!!

DOWN ON THE FARM LOVELY PROVENCE LAYOUT | with Lisa

I'm so in love with the super cute Down on the Farm collection and I totally understand that it's been one of the most loved collections from Doodlebug so far. The color scheme is amazing, the patterns beautiful and the animals. just adorable. After creating some small cards with the collection, I decided to make a layout.

I started by flipping through the papers and decided to go with one of my faves, a paper that also caught my eye the first time I went through all the papers, the denim pockets side of the Red Bandanna paper.  I Love it!!! I cut out three of the pockets and hand-stitched the existing pattern of each pocket. 

I wanted to fill the pockets with flowers. I chose a few papers from the coordinating Petite Prints pack of patterned paper that have a gingham pattern on one side and a linen pattern on the other side. Then I also went to my stash and used the striped/dotted 6x6 paper pad to have some more colors for my flowers. 

I love creating these flowers. They are so fast and easy to make and just look adorable. I always hand-cut out a wonky five-petaled flower shape, without tracing first. It's the best when it's super wonky and all the shapes look different! :) Then I layer them going from big to small... obviously... after shaping them a bit with my fingers, to give them more dimension:)  I topped them with a large enamel Sprinkle dot. I you want to add even more dimension and detail, you can distress the edges and add some tangled thread between layers.  

I also cut out leaves from the limeade petite print and then I placed everything on my layout. For the background, I chose the teal wood grain paper from the b-side of the Country Garden paper, that I really love. I added some white paint to brighten it up and add texture and also splattered some white paint. 

I adhered the pockets and flowers to the background and then went through the stickers of the collection to chose some things to embellish the pockets. Since we're three on the photo, I added three pigs to one of the pockets ;), then I added a tree and a mouse and also some grass with flowers and a sun. 

I matted the photo and adhered it to the layout. To finish the layout I added the title and a little cluster with a fence, tree, chicken, and flower on the right side of the photo. Since the fence goes out of the layout, I wanted to balance the whole thing and do the same of the left side. So I added a piece of fence there too and a chick.

DOWN ON THE FARM BIRTHDAY BOX | with Miguel

Altering boxes is something I love to do. I created this new idea to "package" together a group of altered boxes.   It is made with the beautiful Down on the Farm collection and the Down on the Farm Petite Prints Assortment.  I plan to give this to someone special for his birthday!

Petite Prints are my favorite papers and go-to product when it comes to creating,  It's great how you can use them with a number of Doodlebug Collections. Their wide variety of designs and colors give you a great palate to create with!

I used the 3x4 cards on the b-side of the Buffalo Check paper as the main focus of my project.  They decorate the outside as well as each of the boxes.

You can fill these boxes with so many things!  Letters, photos, little gifts.  The recipient will treasure the contents!

Down on the Farm Collection

DOWN ON THE FARM FARM GIRL LAYOUT | with Nathalie

I think every kid dreams (some still do) about working in a farm, and having free access to all the farm animals.  My daughter still loves farms!  So, the Down On The Farm collection is perfect to document some of her past memories of days at one of the local farms.

My starting point for this page was the 10x10" piece of Farmer's Flannel paper.  I just love the subtle pattern on the b side.

I folded the top left corner of the paper, and backed it with one of the 6x6 paper pad designs. I used this corner to add a sky scene.  These were all attached to a Lemon Petite Print paper background.

The folded corner helped me to anchor my pictures to the layout.   I simply added a few pieces of Chit Chat as embellishments.

I pulled pieces from the Odds & Ends pack, Chit Chat, and stickers to create my title.  To complete my title, I am using stickers from My Type alpha and Abigail alpha.  I love the font combination with the cute ephemera pieces.

To complete my page, I created a small farm scene at the bottom right corner of the page...All the embellishments in Down On The Farm are so cute, it was easy to mix and match them all!

A few sprinkles complete the page. I hope this gives you a bit of inspiration, and you  also bring out some of your farm memories to document with the Down On The Farm collection.  XOXO
