FRENCH KISS STAMPED CARDS | with Karen

Ever since Doodlebug released the new Doodle Stamps, I have been crafting up a storm with them! So imagine my surprise as I was going through my collection...er....I mean...."supplies", and I realized that there was one set that I had not used yet! What?! And let me just say that I have been missing out! "You're Sweet" is a darling set that was designed to match the French Kiss collection and it really is sweet! In fact, I would say that it is a stampers dream set. It has elements that are cute, elements that are pretty, and sentiment elements that you can mix and match to your hearts content! It really is the perfect stamping set.
This card was created with the darling little girl image and a speech bubble stamp that I customized with the "thinking of you" sentiment stamp and a cute little flower stamp.
This pretty card was created with the beautiful flower bouquet stamp, the stamp image that was customized with the strawberry stamp and the piece of paper stamp that was customized with the "hello" sentiment stamp. Mix and match the sentiments for all sorts of occasions and even with the other stamp sets for some fun combinations! You will be creating one of a kind cards in no time!

So, while it may have taken me a while to break out the "You're Sweet" Doodle Stamp set, I have a feeling this one is going to be getting lots of love now! Isn't that fitting?!
Thanks for stopping by!
Hugs,

POP UP SHADOW BOX CARD | with Barbara

Hi everyone, Barbara here with a super fun card idea for you today. I'm using several Doodle Stamps and Doodle Cuts to create this pop-up shadow box card.

A simple Google search for "pop-up shadow box card" will yield you tons of tutorials so I'm not going to reinvent the wheel here, just tell you how and what I used for this card. I began by cutting white card stock to 5 1/2" x 6 1/4", scored at 1/2" and " on each short end to end up with an A2 size card when it's folded down. Once I had the back scored and folded, I added some sky using Simply Spring 6 x 6 paper pad. I cut the opening for the front out of an identical sized piece of white card stock with a rectangle die, scored and folded it, and added some grass to the bottom and the bottom of the background with paper from Hoppy Easter 6 x 6 paper pad.

Next I stamped the images from Flower Girl, Oh, Boy!, and Rainbows & Unicorns Doodle Stamps, cut them out with the coordinating dies, and colored them with Copic markers. Then I arranged the colored elements until I was happy with it and adhered them to the back panel with Foam tape. The clouds were adhered to the back of the front panel for added dimension. Another fun element was added by adhering the bee to a narrow strip of clear acetate card stock then sandwiched that between the front and back panels as they were adhered together. Here's a little video to show the interaction this creates:

How cute is that??? To finish up I heat embossed the sentiment from Oh, Boy! Doodle Stamps on black card stock and popped it up on foam at the bottom of the card front. There are all sorts of ways to use this simple interactive design with your Doodle Stamps and Doodle Cuts so I hope you'll make one of these super fun cards soon!

That's it from me today! Thanks for stopping by!

A RAINBOW OF COLOR AND PRINTS | with Tegan

My favorite scrapbook technique lately has been creating a colorful background on my layouts. The Doodlebug Petite Prints Patterned Papers come in so many colors and are perfect for helping me achieve a rainbow effect! On this layout, I also added some coordinating pieces from the adorable French Kiss collection
I started by using the heart from the Doodlebug Lucky Shapes cut file set to cut out a heart design on my white cardstock background. I then used foam adhesive to adhere my four favorite colors of Petite Prints Dot-Stripe Patterned Papers to the back. I then used coordinating Petite Prints Floral-Graph Patterned Papers and the Bella Blvd Florence Alphabet cut file to cut out matching letters.
I used the fun Abigail Alphabet Stickers in Beetle to start the title and lots of French Kiss Odds & Ends die cut shapes to embellish my layout. I created the little mouse heads in the die cut software by welding together 3 'O' letters from the Bella Blvd Florence cut file. The little flower Shape Sprinkles add the perfect finishing touch.
No theme park themed scrapbooking supplies? No problem! You can use your favorite general themed patterned papers (think Petite Prints!) and embellishments from your favorite Doodlebug collections (think French Kiss)!
Thanks for joining me today! I hope I have inspired you to use general themed products to create a fabulous themed layout!

ADORABLE SUMMER MINI | with Shellye

It's officially Summer and everyone's social media is loaded with beach pictures and vacation fun. For the occasion, I've designed a sweet mini album to capture those "VACAY" memories!
To begin, I started with a sheet of 12X12 cardstock that I scored at: 0.5", 5", 6" and 11.5".
Then I turned the paper and scored at: 3.5" and 8.5".  After folding along all of the scored marks, I mitered  the edges of the 0.5" and 11.5" and made them into the end flaps.
Using a full sheet of cardstock and doubling it, makes it nice and sturdy.  You could even add a lightweight chipboard between the scored areas of the front and back covers.
Before adding the flip up pages, I cut a swatch of patterned paper that measured 4.75" square and then attached them to the inside of the cover page.  After that, I cut a 4.5" square (Bubblegum cardstock) and adhered to the center of the patterned paper square. (repeat for the opposite side).

I wanted to keep the album congruent, so all of the papers on both sides matched going across.
A mix of French Kiss and Hello Collections were used!

To create the flip pages I cut various colored cardstock as follows (sizes from top to bottom) and all with a 4.5" width: 4.25", 4.5" and 4.75".  Each piece was scored at 0.5" from the top.  I applied a strong adhesive to the 0.5" flap and began attaching the pages, starting with the bottom flap.

Again, I used a mixture of the French Kiss and Hello Collections' stickers and die-cuts to help bring the pages to life together!  And if you'd like an area for tucking in journal tags, just add a folded envelope as I did above! In finishing, I applied a 7/8" satin ribbon completely around the spine with adhesive tape.  A loopy bow that I made from the same ribbon  was then attached to the front of the spine.

Thank you for joining me today at Doodlebug Design!

HEARTS UPON HEARTS | with Erica

Do you have a favorite shape? Hearts are definitely one of my favorite shapes to use on layouts. They can be used in so many ways and to document so many things. Anytime I find a cut file with lots of hearts I know I have to use it. I thought it would be fun to back this heart wreath with some colorful pattern papers from Doodlebug Design. I pulled out my Simply Spring and the Dot-Stripe 6x6 paper pads and began to trace the hearts to back my file. Since this is a very simple shape backing a cut file like this takes no time at all. I love how colorful it looks with all the beautiful colors and patterns from Doodlebug Design.

One thing I love about Doodlebug is that everything coordinates so well together! I loved that I could use the Simply Spring collection for a photo that is not spring related at all! I popped the cut file up on some foam tape and added a few embellishments around the wreath. Sprinkles are always needed on my layout and I used a variety of colors on this layout.

I also added the bright bunch doodle-pop to my layout. I love all the dimension the doodle-pops give. And lets talk about the photo because I mean...it is pretty special to me. This was the first time that I met Cynthea and I was so so excited! It was at She Loves Color in 2016 and I had the best time ever. I added a few Simply Spring Chit Chat die cuts to the bottom of my photo. I used the Love This as my title.

I hope you all enjoy this layout and it inspires you to create with your favorite shape and the beautiful colors and patterns from Doodlebug Design.

FAR OUT BABY SHOWER GIFT | with Kathy

My friend's daughter is expecting her first child... a little boy!  We are all so excited for them!  When I received the shower invitation and saw that the theme was outer space, I knew I had to use the new So Much Pun - Far Out Stamps to make her something!  I decide to make her a first year mini album, and a little box card featuring some cut files from the So Much Pun Collection.
I started with the So Much Pun Space Ship File which is available in SVG in the Lori Whitlock SVG Shop as well as in the Silhouette Store.  I worked with the flat file and transformed it into a box card.
I love this little alien!! I added a piece of transparency to the bubble part of the card to make it more sturdy.  I then added the little star and a speech bubble sentiment.  The card folds flat to fit in an envelope.
For the Album, I started by stamping all of the images from the So Much Pun Far Out Set a few times.  I heat embossed the images, colored them using my Copic Markers and cut them out using the coordinating dies.   For the cover, I created a little space scene with some of these images.
Each page of the album is actually an envelope.  You can slide a photo into the top, making it look similar to an instant photo.  I added some stamped images to each of the pages.
On the back of each album page is a note card to record the baby's monthly statistics.  I created a page for the birth picture, then one for each of the first 12 months.  Here are some close-ups.  I used some coordinating Teensy Type Stickers to add the months.

The Far Out Stamps were really perfect for this project!

I created a Silhouette Cut file for the pages of the album.  You can access it for free on my blog here.  That's it for me today, thank you for stopping by to peek!

AT THE ZOO PLANNER PAGES | with Jomelle

It's been a while since we have been to the zoo. My daughter Juliet and my son Jaden loves animals. Since my family has been super busy, I thought why not create my monthly layout with "At the zoo" theme.
I've used mostly the mini icon stickers since the size of the animals are perfect fit and I also used "this and that" stickers.
How cute is that Lion paper clip on the side of the page? You can also see the elephant paper clip in the photo above. Planner girls get so excited with any cute paper clips to decorate our pages.
My son Jaden turned 11 years old on June 9. It would've been a perfect time to visit the zoo but my oldest son Joshua is in Italy with his band from school. My family is not complete without him so we will plan to go later.
I used the bon bon teensy type alphas and number stickers for the month and the for the words "Jaden turn 11"
These are the washi tapes I used in my layout. The animals washi on top of the page are so adorable. I can create so many wonderful things with that washi, don't you agree?
I'm hoping my family will have time to visit the zoo in the near future. In the meantime, this layout makes me more excited about going. Thank you for stopping by and I hope to see you next time.

FRENCH KISS ENVELOPE FLIP BOOK | with Nathalie

I wanted to send some extra special birthday wishes to someone so I turned some Doodlebug envelopes and cards into a flip book. With elements from my favorite French Kiss collection, I believe this happy mail would make anyone smile for any occasion!

Above is a look at the flip book completely open. I used three envelopes of the same size linked together and one card in the middle.

When you first open it, you discover a tag (note to the recipient) in a pocket made out of a treat bag and decorated with die-cuts, stickers and washi tapes. On the right side, I created a shaker bag with a mix of sequins, die-cuts and glitter. The enveloppe itself also serves as a pocket.

After turning another flap, here is a look at the inside:

I created a pocket on the left side to include die-cuts and doilies. In the center, I adhered a flip-up card which I decorated (outside and inside) and included a pretty Doodle-Pop bouquet of flowers.

Do you feel inspired to make an envelope flip book for someone special? You can find lots of different instructions on You Tube. Just grab a pack or two of Envelopes & Cards plus your favorite Doodlebug collection and have fun!
