Yankee Doodle Collection: Treat Buckets by Wendy Sue Anderson

Hi Doodlebug friends!  It's Wendy Sue here today, sharing my latest Doodlebug project: Yankee Doodle treat buckets for the 4th of July!  We always have some extra time while we're waiting for the big fireworks show, so I thought these little treat buckets, stuffed with themed goodies, would be fun to make for everyone.  They would also be great for little neighbor or friend gifts too!  No need to wait for dark on the 4th, enjoy them anytime between now and the fun night!

I started by cutting the buckets with my Silhouette.  You can search for your favorite 3-D bucket shape in their store.  When you cut it out, be sure to choose papers that have great patterns on the front AND back because you'll be able to see both!

After I cut out and assembled each paper bucket, I added a strip of coordinating washi tape across the top of each bucket.  Then I cut three of the 4x4 cards from one of the patterned papers.  After that, I just started adding odds & ends, stickers, sprinkles, doodle-pops, and more!

Here's a closer look at the front of each paper bucket:

Yankee Doodle Collection: 4th of July Wreath by Brigit Mann

Hello, Doodlebug Fans! Brigit here to share with you a Fourth of July project created with the new Yankee Doodle collection. It's a fabulous red, white & blue patriotic themed collection with some shimmers of silver throughout.

To create this wreath, I cut out a bunch of pinwheels from the 12 x 12 paper pack and some textured cardstock using dies from My Creative Time. I hot glued each pinwheel onto a grapevine wreath and added some die cuts from the odds and ends pack.

Some of the die cuts were added by coiling wire around a pencil and hot gluing them to it, love how that looks.

The pinwheels are held together with some lily white, ladybug and blue jean mini brads.

This was definitely a fun and easy project to create, would make a lovely gift.

Well, I hope you've enjoyed this project, thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful day!

Yankee Doodle Collection: I Heart USA by Anita Bownds

Hi there Doodlebug peeps,
Anita here with you today sharing a layout I created with the fabulous new Yankee Doodle collection. For my layout I thought I would make a love layout with a big heart as the featured in the middle of the page.

I started off my layout by layering star spangled over the top of Yankee Doodle stripes
And then adding red and white doilies to 2 corners of my layout then machine stitching around the boarder

I used my silhouette cameo to cut the heart I designed out to add in the middle of my layout
Backed with patriotic paisley and I used pop dots to pop it off the page to give it dimension
Then I added a die cut flower that I cut in half from the odds and ends pack on either side of the heart
I used more of the odds and ends to create my title and then using the red white and blue sprinkles vellum to Matt my photo on then matting on some patterned paper from the 6x6 paper pad
I then added a few more flowers from the odds and ends and shape sprinkles to my layout to finish it off

Here are some close ups of my layout and a process video to show you how I created my layout

Yankee Doodle Collection: FiloFax Fun with Jomelle Gomez

Hello Everyone! It's Jomelle here today sharing my 4th of July layouts in my A5 planner. Of course I chose my Finsbury FiloFax in Cherry. It matches beautifully with the Yankee Doodle Collection.

I love it when I open my planner and I see many pretty embellishments. Here you can see I made the dashboard using one of the vellum and paired it with the stripes paper.

I left a little space in my dashboard so I can add pictures during our 4th of July celebration this year. I usually use my Sprocket to print my pictures. It will fit in the space.

Planner Girl "Pocket Love" Pockets stuffed with many embellishments.

I wanted to show how gorgeous are the Vellums are in this collection. This picture doesn't do justice on how pretty they are. You can see how the stripes 12x12 cardstock looks really good behind the stars vellum.

I made another dashboard and added the tag on the side.

Here is my weekly layout for the first week in July. It also happens that we are celebrating 4th of July this week.

I wanted to make another page just for July 4th. I want to write notes and our plan for this day. I added stickers to make the page colorful.

How cute are these washi tapes and the bicycle paper clips?

Thank you so much for stopping by. I hope I inspire you to create your 4th of July celebration in your planner. Have a nice day!

Yankee Doodle Collection: Celebrate America Layout with Tya

Hello Doodlebug friends! It's Tya and I am excited to share with you a layout I did using the adorable Yankee Doodle collection! I have to admit - the 4th of July is my favorite holiday! It probably has something to do with the warm weather, yummy food and best of all spending time with the people I love. Every year we get together in my aunt and uncles cul-de-sac and have a huge party with lots of good food, lots of visiting and we cap the night off with fireworks and sparklers for the kids. Here is my layout:
I just adored all of the patterns in this collection. I loved the vibrant blue color so I added a piece of pattern paper for my background. I cut a piece of stone grey gingham linen Petite Print down to put my photos on.  I then layered some red paisley paper and cut some strips from the border sheet and added those to the red paper. I mounted my photos on white cardstock and made them look like a Polaroid shape. I like doing this for a little variation. I did my journaling on white cardstock and cut it into a banner shape and mounted it on some blue jean gingham linen Petite Print paper. Here are some close ups of the embellishing I did:
To make the title I used some stickers from the Icon Sticker Sheet and the This and That sticker sheet. The viewmaster shape is from the Odd's and Ends as well as the firecracker. I mounted these to the layout with some glossy accents and foam tape.
Up in the top left corner  I made a little cluster of embellishments. I started by cutting a banner shape out of the July 4th paper from the 6x6 paper pad. I also cut a light blue firework pattern paper from the 6x6 pad. I glued a accetate firework from the Odds and Ends to the base and then glued the banners down. I popped the July 4th banner up with foam tape. I then added a flag and firecracker sticker from the Icon sticker sheet.
I then got quite a few different sized star die cuts from the Odds and Ends and glued them in the corners of the layout .I also added some star sprinkles to the layout. I added some word stickers and a cute little mouse to one of the photos. I finished the layout off with a blue bakers twine bow.

I had such a fun time making this layout and remember the fun time that we had that night. I hope I have inspired you to pick up this collection and record some of your favorite 4th of July memories. Thanks for stopping by today! Happy Crafting!
