OH WHAT FUN SWEET HOLLY JOLLY CHISTMAS LAYOUT | with Nathalie

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas everywhere you look! So, let's get festive with the beautiful Oh What Fun collection and document your memories in style.   The colors, designs, and festive feeling of the collection if perfect for your holiday projects, and this time I am using it to document one of my family photos from 15 years ago (my kids were so little, and my niece was tiny).  Let's take a look at the project:

I love adding dimension and texture to my pages, so the idea of hanging banners helps to combine them both in a seamlessly while bringing a lot of interest to the page.

I used pieces of the Christmas Eve paper, Spruced up paper and 6x8 paper pad to create the banners for this spread.  I used a pencil to help me form the curl at the top of the banner before hanging them in place on the white cardstock from the coordinating cardstock pack.

I used a pair of eyelets to help me with the design of the page.  This was an easy way to run some Doodle Twine.   I did a double loop, so the first holds the banners, then the other ties into a bow at the top of the banners on the left.

I used papers from the 6x8 paper pad to frame my photo.  Once I placed it on the spread, I used a combination of embellishments to create a cluster on the top left corner of the picture.  I used the bottom right corner of the photo for a place to add my title.

To balance the page, I added one of the scalloped border stickers to the bottom of the page, and created a small cluster right below the banners.    To end the spread, I added a few Sprinkles around each of the clusters.

I hope this inspires you to create with the fun Oh What Fun collection, you are going to love your projects! XO

OH WHAT FUN GIFT CARD PURSES | with Kathy

When you have adult children, gift cards often make the perfect presents.  To make them feel a bit more special, I always package them up in a fun and festive way.  This year, I decided to make some cute gift card purses with the Oh What Fun collection... take a peek...

To make them, I started with this Purse Mini Album  SVG from Lori Whitlock.  I edited the file to delete the book ring holes.  The "bottom" of the purse mini was open so that you could flip the pages so  I created a solid bottom in Silhouette Studio by welding a rectangle to connect the bottoms of the two sides of the purse.

I cut the resulting shape bases from some Oh What Fun coordinating textured cardstock.

I used the handles and cover pieces from the original file to layer on the outside of the purse and cut them from papers from the 6x8 pad.  I stitched them onto the base using my sewing machine.  I created and attached a little tab closure.  It's stitched to the back, and it secures on the front of the purse using small velcro dots.  I added a fun peppermint "snap" from the Goody Goody Gumdrops Shaped Sprinkles.    I decorated the fronts of the purses using Odds & Ends, sprinkles and some Bits & Pieces. Here are some more close-ups....

To hold my gift cards, I first cut some "pages" from the same coordinating textured cardstock. For my Pages, I used the same pieces that I used to cover the outside of the purse.  I added some gift card "slots" to hold each card, but you could also use glue dots to attach them.  To attach the pages into the book, I created a hidden binding which I glued to the purse bottom. (there are a lot of hidden binding tutorials available on-line)  The pages are attached to the binding using score tape.

The pink and plaid purses both contain pages to hold 3 gift cards.  For this last bag, I created 5 pages.

Now to fill them up with some cards!  I just need to narrow down my choices and I should be good to go!  That's it for me today, thank you for stopping by to peek!
