HOMETOWN USA POP UP CARDS | with Kathy

I love making 3D Cards.  They are so fun, and look great on display!!  As soon as I saw the Hometown USA collection and coordinating Festive Floral Doodle Cuts, I knew what I would make!  Take a peek...

For my first card, I started with the new Festive Florals Doodle Cuts.  I created a clear jar shaker using the dies, heavyweight acetate and the new Land that I Love Shakers.  The jar pieces and flowers were cut from the coordinating Textured Cardstock pack. I also added some sprinkles and America the Beautiful shaped sprinkles to the centers.  I used the Plaid to be American paper for my base and finished it off using a Chit Chat sentiment, a heart from the Land that I Love Shaped Sprinkles and that sweet little birdie from the Bluebirds Doodle Pops!

I love the acetate fireworks in the Bits & Pieces pack and decided to use them as the focus for my next card.

I started with some clouds that I die cut from some Lily White Cardstock.  I added the acetate fireworks around them, as well as some acetate and shaped sprinkle stars which I attached to some acetate strips to make them look like they're floating.  The base of my card was created using the Summer Celebration paper.

I finished the card with some Star Spangled Shaped Sprinkles and a sentiment from the Chit Chat Pack.

HELLO AGAIN POP UP CARDS | with Kathy

Hello friends!  It's good to be back after a short break, and how lucky am I to come back to the Hello Again Collection??  I love all the fun flowers, butterflies, the bright colors... everything!  I decided to make some fun pop up cards using the new coordinating Butterfly Wishes and Home Sweet Home Doodle Cuts.  Take a peek!

My first card was so fun to put together. All of the dies are from the Butterfly Wishes Doodle Cuts.  I cut the butterflies and flowers from a combination of the Hello Again 6x6 pad and some of the new Candy Stripe-Sprinkles and Plaid-Polka Dot Petite Prints.  To add a bit of shine, I also cut the gold envelope that is part of the coordinating cards and envelope set.

To make my butterflies seem like they are flying, I glued pieces of acetate to my base, and then added the butterflies to the acetate.  I love how it looks like they are floating!  The sentiment was cut using the Thanks Die included in the Butterfly Wishes set.

My next card was made using the Home Sweet Home Doodle Cuts Set.  My nephew just purchased his first home and I can't wait to give them this fun card!  I added some flowers from the Hello Love Shaped Sprinkles to the window boxes and to the base of the card.  My sentiment is from the This and That Sticker Sheet.

Again, I used the vellum trick to make the heart "puffs" seem to rise from the chimney, and also to add the sun and clouds to the sky.

These cards were so fun to put together!  Have you created any projects with the Hello Again Collection or the coordinating Doodle Cuts?  Be sure to tag Doodlebug Design on Socials, we always love to see your creations!  That's it for me today, thank you for stopping by to peek!

MONSTER MADNESS POP UP CARD | with Kathy

Happy Halloween!  Have you been creating with the Monster Madness collection?  I just can't get enough of the adorable little monsters!  I made some more using the new Sweet Tooth and Party Animal Doodle Cuts sets, and decided to use them in a birthday pop up card... take a peek...

I just love these little guys... and the fun balloons, cupcakes and presents are too cute!

For my sentiment I pulled out my Doodle Cuts Happy Birthday Dies.  I cut the words and glued them together, then to the monsters to  make it look like they are holding the words like a banner.  The "from all of us" sentiment is from the Spooky Fun Cardstock.

I love how the pop up gives so much dimension to my little scene. And of course we can't forget the front of the card... I used one of the cut-aparts on the Spooky Fun double sided cardstock, and added a little balloon from the doodle cuts.

The pop up card was really easy to make.  I've put together a little tutorial below.

1.  I started by cutting my card base and an insert.  The base is 10"x7", folded in half.  The insert is 9.75" x 6.75" also folded in half.  I then glued the insert into the card base.

2.  Next I added my bottom pop out.  This pop out piece is 6" x 4".  I scored it at .5", 2" and 3.5".  I then added double sided tape to the two .5" tabs.  I centered the piece in my card base, making sure that the center score line was aligned with the card base fold.  I then took off the tape cover strip, and while holding the piece in place, folded the ends under and secured.

3.  This is what the card looks like when finished.

4.  I then added the second pop out piece.  This piece is 3.75" x 3".  I scored it at .5", 1.5" and 2.5". I opened up my card,  then aligned the center score line on this piece with the top of the first pop out piece.  I held it in place, removed the adhesive cover and tucked them under like I did with the previous piece.

5.  This is what the card looks like when the two pop ups are done.

All that was left was to add all of my monsters, balloons, presents etc!

That's it for me today, thanks for stopping by to peek!

MY HAPPY PLACE STAMPED POP UP CARDS | with Kathy

Have you seen the stamp sets that are part of the My Happy Place Collection?  There are 2 new ones... Happy Home and Garden Girl.  They are full of super cute images!  As soon as I saw them I knew I had to make a couple of fun pop up cards.  Take a peek...

I started with the Garden Girl Doodle Stamps.  I love all of the fun plants!  They make me think of my dad's green house!  I made the base of my card with the blue side of the Enjoy the Ride paper.  I stacked my plants on some cute little benches, and then added the birdie.  I love the "you grow girl" sentiment!  I added a few of the In the Garden shaped sprinkles to complete the look.

For my next card, I used the Happy Home Doodle Stamps and Doodle Cuts.  I have friends moving into a new house, and thought this would be a fun card to help celebrate their new "happy" place.  I made a little scene with one of the houses, some trees, the fence and that adorable little car.  I added more of the In the Garden shaped shaped sprinkles .

I just love that little car!!!  Have you made any projects using the new stamps?  Make sure to tag Doodlebug Design on Facebook and Instagram.  We always love to see your creations!  That's it for me today, thanks for stopping by to peek!

GRADUATION CARDS | with Kathy

Graduation season is upon us!  In-person graduations from kindergarten to college are all cancelled this year, but that just makes it more important to celebrate these milestones.   I decided that the Hey Cupcake, and Party Time stamps could be used for more than just birthdays, so I mixed them with some of the new Doodle Cuts and came up with a couple of fun graduation cards!  Take a peek...

I thought the first card would be cute for a little person!!!  I made a slider card using the big tag from the Large Tags Doodle Cuts Dies, and the Congrats is from the All Occasions Doodle Cuts Dies.  The stamps and papers are from the Party Time Collection.  I love how when you pull the tag up the little monkey floats up!

I made the second card for my daughter who is graduating from college on Friday.  She loved the little llama from the Hey Cupcake Party Animals stamps... kept trying to steal it when I colored it in lol.  So I added it to this fun pop up card...

In addition to the Hey Cupcake Party Animals stamps, I used the new Alex Alphabet Dies and some of the new mini jewels to add some sparkle.

Here are the card fronts.   I used the Borders and Edges dies on the front of my pop-up card.

The new stand alone dies are really great for card making, and of course the new mini jewels add the perfect bit of sparkle!  If you've used any of the new stamps and dies in your projects, be sure to tag Doodlebug on Facebook and Instagram!  We'd love to see what you create!  That's it for me today, thanks for stopping by to peek.

PARTY TIME FAVOR BOXES & POP UP CARD | with Stephanie

Hello Doodlebug friends, Stephanie here today to share a project using the adorable new Party Time collection!  I created two favor boxes and a pop up card using lots of patterned paper and die cut elements.  Let’s take a look...
First up is my Happy Birthday cupcake card.  This is the cut file I used on my Silhouette machine. I cut the base and inside layer of the card with dot/stripe petite prints in kraft and lily white and the cupcake layers using a few 12x12 pattern papers. I used Chit Chat sentiments as well as Odds and Ends die images to embellish my card. I love the candles, they’re perfect for the cupcakes!

I think this pop up monkey wearing a birthday hat is a fun surprise when you open the card!

Next up is my cupcake favor box.  This is the cut file I used (again on my Silhouette). I wanted the box to match my card so I decorated it similarly.

Lasty, I cut this favor box and decorated it using the 6x6 paper pad and one of the Doodlepop cupcakes.  I cut the center piece using a 1/4 inch rosette die and the new Doodlecuts nesting scallops die.  I tied a ribbon through the top to close the box and done!

I had a lot of fun putting this Birthday set together.  I absolutely love the variety of matching colors and patterned paper and elements Doodlebug collections offer to make layering so fun and easy!  That’s it for me, have a great day!

PARTY TIME BIRTHDAY CARDS | with Kathy

Monkeys and puppies and elephants... oh my!  I seriously cannot get enough of the cute little critters in the Party Time Collection.  Each one makes me smile.  I decided that they should be the "stars" of a couple of fun birthday cards.... take a peek...

I think the Odds & Ends are my all time favorite Doodlebug embellishment.  You can do so many things with them!  There are lots of balloons in this collection, So I decided that each critter should be holding one!  I especially love the acetate balloons!

For my first card I used the base of this card from Lori Whitlock.  I love the slider window... pull the tag and it not only reveals a sweet sentiment, but it makes the monkey look like he's floating up!

I wanted to use a bunch of the critters for one card, so I thought a pop up card would be best.  Open up the card and they all pop out to surprise you!  It would make a great "from all of us" card.

Both cards fold flat for mailing.  I decorated the front of the pop up card with a chit chat sentiment and a couple of the acetate balloons.  If you've made any projects using the Party Time collection, be sure to tag Doodlebug Design on Facebook and Instagram.  We always love to see your creations!  That's it for me today, thanks for stopping by to peek!

SCHOOL DAYS POP UP CARD | with Kathy

Happy Monday folks!  I'm excited to be kicking off a couple of weeks of School Days inspiration. This year back to school is a little bittersweet for me... my daughter is starting her last year of college.  I can't believe she's almost done and that I'm old enough to have a college senior!  I will be happy to be done with tuition bills though!  Since I don't have a first day of school picture yet, I decided to make a little card with the collection.  If you haven't seen the little icons in this collection yet, you're in for a treat.  They are all so cute, but these little crayons just make me ridiculously happy!  Take a peek...

I immediately envisioned the crayons popping out of an  old school crayon box (remember... the 64 crayons with the sharpener in the back??)  I fashioned the box from the Very Primary and Arithmetic papers.  They were the perfect colors!  I added in the crayons with some foam tape to give them some dimension and completed the look with the sentiment from the This & That Stickers and some You're a Star Shaped Sprinkles.  Here  is a close-up..

I kept the front of the card simple, using a chit chat sentiment and the crayon stickers from the Icons Sticker sheet... and how cute is that crayon paper???

We would love to see your projects featuring the School Days Collection!  Be sure to tag Doodlebug Design on Facebook and Instagram so we are sure to see them!  That's it for me today, thanks for stopping by to peek!

Why should the outside of your card have all the fun!?!

Easter Basket Pop-Up Card by Curt R. Jensen

The SVG cut file for this Easter Basket Pop-Up Card is available exclusively from Lori Whitlock.

After I cut and assembled the pop-up, I filled the Easter basket with Hoppy Easter Odds & Ends. Then, I layered two colors of Abigail alpha stickers on top of one another, Lily White and Bon Bon, to make my sentiment stand out! For a finishing touch, I added faux-stitching around the perimeter with an oldie-but-goodie, the Sew Easy rub-ons!
