HOMETOWN USA CARDS | with Kathy

The Hometown USA collection is great for more than just patriotic projects!  I used the collection to create some fun summer cards!  Take a peek...

For my first card, I decided to use the sweet Festive Floral Doodle Pop.  I love the cute little flowers and those silver hearts add a great touch of shine.  I framed it in a scalloped cut out and added the silver Happy Birthday chit chat.

For my second card, I wanted to use the adorable Blue Birds Doodle Pops.  They're just so cute!  I die cut flowers using the Festive Floral and Pocket Full o' Pride Doodle cuts.  I added some coordinating sprinkle centers.  For a little touch of shine I added the You're so Sweet chit chat.

EEK!  Those birdies are cute!  Have you created any projects using the Hometown USA collection?  Be sure to tag Doodlebug Design on Socials, we love to see your creations!  That's it for me today, thank you for stopping by to peek.

COLOR ME CRAFTY CAMERA MINI BOOK| with Miguel

The long-awaited moment has arrived: working with the collection that best represents us!   Color Me Crafty is a beautiful collection, full of color and lovely crafty designs. Today I worked with the Smile Doodle Cuts, creating a mini album to document those fun crops and how much fun we had.

This was made with Color Me Crafty Solid assortment, as this product has the perfect color combination. I layered cardstock and foam to add dimension, and also lined the edges of the pieces for a better finish.

For the inside pages, I die-cut from the 6x8 pad since the designs are smaller and are perfect for the size of the album; I then decorated with some of the cut apart cards from one of the sheets in the collection.

Some of my favorite products for decorating are the Puffy Icons because they give projects a spectacular shine and make them look very original. Look how beautiful my cover looks in the photo!

Thank you for reading!  Have a great day!

COLOR ME CRAFTY CAMERA MINI ALBUM | with Kathy

When I go to big crops with friends, we all usually bring a little something special for everyone at the table.  Sometimes it's something sweet, other times it might be a little project to do as a group.  When I saw the Smile Doodle Cuts from the Color Me Crafty collection, I immediately thought it would make a cute mini album to make at the table.  Everyone could fill it with their fun crop photos.  Take a peek...

My mini was really easy to piece together.  I started by cutting the camera shapes.  I cut two from Chipboard, and then four more from patterned papers from the collection.  I sandwiched the chipboard between the papers and glued in place.  I used the rest of the dies in the set to cut and decorate the front of the camera, and just the pink top piece for the back.

To make my accordion pages, I cut two strips of lily white cardstock.  One was 2.5" x 10" scored at 2.5", 5" and 7.5".  The second piece was 2.5" x 7.5" scored at 2.5" and 5".  I overlapped one segment of each strip and glued them together.  I then accordion folded the resulting strip.

To attach the pages to the covers, I centered the folded pages on the back of the front cover and glued.  I then took my back cover, making sure it lined up correctly with the front and glued it to the other side of the pages.

Now for the fun part, decorate!

I started by cutting 2.25" squares (I used a stitched die, but you could just cut them with a trimmer) and added them to each of the pages.  I then set to decorated all of the pages using a variety of embellishments including the mini icon stickers, This & That stickers, Chit Chat pieces, Puffy Icon stickers, and puffy words.  I also "sprinkled" a few Shaped sprinkles too!

For this page, I created a flip by cutting a 2" x 4" strip and folding in half to give extra space for journaling.

To make some of the This & That Word stickers and chit chats fit my tiny pages better, I cut them into word confetti.

How cute is that little Doodlebug tote?!!  Looks just like the one I have at home!
And here are some views of the mini fully opened so you can see all the pages front and back!

I think this would be so fun to make as a group project! And everyone could put their favorite 2" x 2" photos inside! I'll be back in a couple of weeks with another Color Me Crafty project.  If you've created something fun using the collection, be sure to tag Doodlebug Design on socials, we love to see your projects!  That's it for me today, thank you for stopping by to peek.

LUCKY ME SPRING ORGANIZER | with Miguel

Today I decided to alter this wooden organizer with the Petite Print Assortment papers from the Lucky Me collection. This collection is so cheerful and full of color, just like Doodlebug!  First, I painted the piece with acrylic paint and then cut chipboard and decorative paper to cover the structure.

I decided to use the beautiful rainbow, from the You are My Sunshine Doodle Cuts, to be the star of my project. I personally love cutting from Doodlebug cardstock and popping up with foam in the same color to give the pieces more life and movement; this creates a 3D effect and you'll love the result.

To give a more professional finish, I cut a very thin strip of cardstock to hide the foam  The thickness varied depending on the number of foamy layers cut.

For decoration, I used the All the Things and Puffy Icon Stickers that perfectly match the piece,

I love a unique and special piece that will look spectacular in my crafty workspace. I can put my markers and other desk tools in it.

Thanks for stopping by! Best regards.

LUCKY ME - ST. PATRICK'S DAY SHADOW BOX | with Miguel

If I had to talk about my favorite products and tools, I'd definitely mention Doodlebug's beautiful collections! And today I used my favorite tool, the Shadow Box Punch Board, because it lets you quickly and easily make small paper frames to decorate any space.

I worked with the petite print assortment from the Lucky Me collection to make two frames in different sizes, and then I cut this beautiful bouquet of flowers with the Bunch of Luck Doodle Cuts.  For the second shadow box, I filled the frame with a cut-apart from the  the card from the St. Paddy's Plaid cardstock.

Look how incredible the die-cut looks when cut from the coordinating cardstock.  I added foam dots to each piece to make it dimensional. I also used shape sprinkles from the same collection to add light and more design to my beautiful bouquet of flowers and clovers.

Now I have two frames to decorate and brighten up my workspace! Or for any corner of our home.

Thanks for reading and stopping by, see you soon!

LUCKY ME RAINBOW TREAT BOXES | with Kathy

Every year I attend the Crop on the Cape Scrapbook retreat.  I've been going for over 20 years!  It's such a fun event, a chance to catch up with friends and of course get some crafting in!  I always try to bring a little something special for my table-mates and this year I decided to make some fun treat holders using the Lucky Me Collection along with the You are My Sunshine Doodle Cuts. Take a peek...

I started with a Lori Whitlock SVG File for the base. (linked below)  I cut it from some Lily White cardstock and added a handle made from some swimming pool cardstock and attached with some Swimming Pool chunky brads.

Using the You are My Sunshine Doodle Cuts, I cut the rainbows from a mixture of Lucky Me coordinating Petite Prints and some papers from the collection.  The clouds were cut from some lily white polka dot/plaid petite prints.  I popped up the clouds with some foam tape and also used some foam tape to attach the rainbows to the box.  To complete the look I added a Swimming Pool Puffy Shape Heart.

To complete my boxes, I die cut the tag, hello and shamrock from the Bunch of Luck Doodle Cuts.  I punched a hole in both and tied them to the box using some Swimming Pool Doodle Twine.

I filled my little boxes with some rainbow sprinkle nonpareils from a local Cape Cod Candy maker.  They are yummy, and I thought they went well with my rainbow theme.  Now to finish packing for the crop!  That's it for me today, thank you for stopping by to peek.

LUCKY ME FLORAL CARDS | with Karen

So, up here in Calgary, we have been having a really mild winter. In fact, it has been so mild that recently plants started emerging from their winter sleep - that is unheard of in February up here. But, as is with life, winter struck again and we are living in a deep freeze...our little plants hiding beneath the snow (don't worry - they will be okay...even the plants up here are a hardy bunch). The great part about crafting is that I don't have to rely on Mother Nature for beautiful blooms any time of the year. Get out some beautiful Doodlebug paper from the new Lucky Me collection and some Rainbow Textured cardstock, and I can put the winter blues behind me!

So that is is exactly what I did for this set of cards! Featuring die cuts from the Doodle Cuts Bunch of Luck, I used the Rainbow Textured cardstock to cut out each of these beautiful blooms.

I then added some patterned paper from the Lucky Me 6x8 paper pad as a base on top of some of the card bases from Rainbow Cards & Envelopes set. I just love the beautifully coloured envelopes that come in this pack.

I layered up each of the flowers, using regular liquid adhesive for the ones in the back and some foam adhesive for the ones in the front to add a bit more dimension. Finally, I added a little sentiment to each one that I fussy cut from the 6x8 paper pad and I was all set.

Now my kitchen table is covered with beautiful blooms and Doodlebug colour. Spring still can come early! Thanks for stopping by! Hugs,

SNOW MUCH FUN CHIPBOARD HOUSE ALBUM | With Traci

Hello crafters! Traci here and with the winter season upon us, I created a super fun mini album that's perfect for your chilly memories. It's a cute house shaped scrapbook made with Doodlebug's Home Sweet Home Chipboard Album and the adorable Snow Much Fun Collection!

I just love this mini. The 5x7 inch chipboard album comes as a blank canvas that features two covers, a roof top piece, four dividers, and four pages. You could use any collection to decorate this but the winter one makes it look like a cute and cozy snow covered home that's great for photos of family, friends, everyday moments, and snow filled shenanigans!

For the cover, I chose a few pattern papers and solid card stock in pistachio, lilac, and sea glass. I cut the different shapes out with the Home Sweet Home Doodle cuts. This set includes 18 metal dies that are perfect for creating the intricate details like window frames, doors, flower boxes, potted plants, and more.

To decorate it, I used some mini icon stickers. They were the perfect size so I added the snowman, penguin, and adorable children peeking through the windows. Next came some shape sprinkles. I added a few snowflakes (Snow Colorful) to the roof, a heart over the front door (I Love Snow) and a lilac enamel dot for the doorknob. Then for a little sparkle ... I added some mini jewels along the scalloped roofline and glitter to the snow!

Inside, I covered the chipboard pages in pretty 6x6 and 12x12 pattern papers. On the layout above, I used the Snow Happy Together snowflake print in the background and made a journaling card from the 12x12 Cold Streak paper. Then, some cute Odds & Ends die cut pieces finished it off.

Here, I used with the other side of the Snow Happy Together paper. It's so cute filled with winter animals like polar bears, bunny rabbits, penguins, and seals. Next, I made a flippie with space inside for 2 photos. I used a sweet 4x4 card from the Spot of Snow paper and tucked a few die cuts behind it.

What a great page for pictures of playing in the snow! In the background, I added the Winter Wonderland print filled with tiny snowflakes. Then I made 2 photo mats out of the pretty plaid titled All Bundled Up. The title is a sticker from the This & That sheet, the snowflakes are from the Snow Colorful shape sprinkles, and the snowmen and penguin are from the Odds & Ends.

Ooooo, I love this gingham print called Ice Crystals. It's so beautiful and looks great with the die cuts from the Bits & Pieces! I chose a scalloped circle and cut it in two, placing one half on either side of the photo mat. Then, I added the snowflakes on top.

Isn't this page pretty? The lilac card stock is such a great color and makes the perfect background for the snowflake shape sprinkles and the cute snowmobile die cut. The "winter" tab and the scalloped border are stickers from the This & That sheet.

This collection has a great variety of embellishments and pattern papers to highlight your photos. You could use them for a ski vacation, the beautiful mountains, tubing, sledding, building a snowman, an Alaskan cruise, your snow covered home, and family memories. And ... there are so many! The Odds & Ends alone have 107 pieces ... not to mention the Chit Chat, Bits & Pieces, and all the fabulous stickers! I love all the cute choices!

This page started with a playful polka dot print called Snow Day. Then I added a photo mat, some Odds & Ends, and lots of glimmering mini jewels. Love, love, love the sparkle!

I hope my House Shaped Winter Mini Album gives you a little seasonal inspiration. The Home Sweet Home Chipboard Album and Snow Much Fun Collection are both SNOW MUCH FUN! It's cool colors, cute images, and pretty patterns are perfect for your winter craft projects. Thanks for stopping by the blog today and happy scrappin'!
