COLOR ME CRAFTY CAMERA MINI ALBUM | with Kathy

When I go to big crops with friends, we all usually bring a little something special for everyone at the table.  Sometimes it's something sweet, other times it might be a little project to do as a group.  When I saw the Smile Doodle Cuts from the Color Me Crafty collection, I immediately thought it would make a cute mini album to make at the table.  Everyone could fill it with their fun crop photos.  Take a peek...

My mini was really easy to piece together.  I started by cutting the camera shapes.  I cut two from Chipboard, and then four more from patterned papers from the collection.  I sandwiched the chipboard between the papers and glued in place.  I used the rest of the dies in the set to cut and decorate the front of the camera, and just the pink top piece for the back.

To make my accordion pages, I cut two strips of lily white cardstock.  One was 2.5" x 10" scored at 2.5", 5" and 7.5".  The second piece was 2.5" x 7.5" scored at 2.5" and 5".  I overlapped one segment of each strip and glued them together.  I then accordion folded the resulting strip.

To attach the pages to the covers, I centered the folded pages on the back of the front cover and glued.  I then took my back cover, making sure it lined up correctly with the front and glued it to the other side of the pages.

Now for the fun part, decorate!

I started by cutting 2.25" squares (I used a stitched die, but you could just cut them with a trimmer) and added them to each of the pages.  I then set to decorated all of the pages using a variety of embellishments including the mini icon stickers, This & That stickers, Chit Chat pieces, Puffy Icon stickers, and puffy words.  I also "sprinkled" a few Shaped sprinkles too!

For this page, I created a flip by cutting a 2" x 4" strip and folding in half to give extra space for journaling.

To make some of the This & That Word stickers and chit chats fit my tiny pages better, I cut them into word confetti.

How cute is that little Doodlebug tote?!!  Looks just like the one I have at home!
And here are some views of the mini fully opened so you can see all the pages front and back!

I think this would be so fun to make as a group project! And everyone could put their favorite 2" x 2" photos inside! I'll be back in a couple of weeks with another Color Me Crafty project.  If you've created something fun using the collection, be sure to tag Doodlebug Design on socials, we love to see your projects!  That's it for me today, thank you for stopping by to peek.

SNOW MUCH FUN ACCORDION MINI ALBUM | with Kathy

I'm back with another fun project featuring the Snow Much Fun collection.  I just adore the colors in this collection, they really are my favorites, and those cute little snow men... I can't even.  I decided to make an accordion mini album this time... it's perfect to document a fun winter trip or even just a snow day!  Take a peek...

To start, I made my covers.  I cut two pieces of chipboard, each 3.25" x 4.75".  I covered them with the plaid side of the Ice Crystals paper.  To decorate my front cover I added a die cut rectangle of the 6x6 version of the All Bundled Up paper.  I cut some snow mounds from the snowflake side of the frosted friends paper.  I added a tree from the Icon Stickers, and the cutest little Snow Much Love Shaker-pop.  The sentiment is from the Chit Chat pieces.

To create my inside pages, I cut two pieces of pistachio floral/graph petite prints... one 4.5" x 12" and the second 4.5" x 9".  I scored each at 3", 6" and on the longer strip at 9".  I overlapped the two strips (one section) and glued them together.  I  then accordion folded the entire strip and attached the pages to the inside of the 2 covers.  I die cut some stitched rectangles from the 6x6 pad and added to the inside pages.  I then set out to decorate them all using Icon Stickers, Shaped Sprinkles, This & That Stickers, Odds & Ends, Bits & Pieces and some Chit Chats.  Take a peek....

I even used a second Doodle-pop on one of my pages!  I'm so proud of myself lol.

I love the little notebook pages from the Bits & Pieces, they're the perfect place to add a little journaling.

Here are the pages all spread out.  I added a ribbon from my stash to tie the album all together.

I'll be back soon with another Snow Much Fun Project.  In the meantime, if you've created anything using the collection, be sure to tag @doodlebugdesign on socials.  We love to see your creations.  That's it for me today, thank you for stopping by to peek.

HEY PUMPKIN ACCORDION MINI ALBUM | with Conny

Hey everyone, It's Conny! I'm excited to share a beautiful accordion mini album showcasing the stunning Hey Pumpkin Collection. This album was a joy to create, offering the perfect canvas for adding photos on both sides. I especially enjoyed the opportunity to design flip-up pages, adding an extra element of surprise and creativity to the album.

Let's get started! I started with two chipboard pieces measuring 4 1/2" x 6 1/2". I used black cardstock measuring 8" x 6 1/8" to cover them.  I placed the chipboard in the middle using a book cover guide, leaving about 3/4" all around and added adhesive all around the 3/4" and folded those into the chipboard.

Next, I created the accordion pages. I used 110 lb black cardstock for the pages, measuring 6 1/2" x 11",  scored at 4 1/2" x 9". The ends that measure 2" between the 9" x11" were adhered to the chipboard covers. After adding the hinges to the chipboard,  I joined the pages, creating a zigzag! If you want to create a pocket out of the pages you are joining, that is also an option. Make sure when matting the pages, the pocket is facing up. The black cardstock papers throughout the album measure 4 3/8" x 6 3/8". Next I chose my favorite papers from the collection.
The white photo matts were cut in three sizes: 3 3/4" x 4 1/4", 6" x 3 3/4", and 8 1/2" x 4 3/4".  I scored the longest side of the 8 1/2" x 4 3/4" mat at 4 1/4" to create flip-up pages.  I embellished them with my favorite pieces from the Bits and Pieces, Odds & Ends, chit chat, and more.
You can find the process video on my YouTube channel (link below)  Thank you for stopping by, and I can't wait to see what you create using the Hey Pumpkin Collection. Happy Haunting!!! Xo Conny!!

LOTS OF LOVE ACCORDION MINI ALBUM | with Kathy

It's that time of year!  Hearts, flowers, chocolates... and Doodlebug's Lots of Love collection!  I have always loved Doodlebug Valentine's crafting... there's just something about the bright colors and all the cute little icons!  I decided to create a fun accordion mini ... I plan on filling it with photos of my favorite people! I fell in love with this type of album while taking the fun Mini Albums 101 class from our friends at Scrapbook & Cards Today. They are the perfect mini to document everything from day to day to a special event!  Take a peek...

I started with my covers... I cut 2 pieces of chipboard and covered each with the Hearts side of the Happy Mail paper.  I used the 6x6 pad version of the papers, I love how the smaller scale prints work perfectly with smaller projects.  I decorated the cover with flowers from the Bits & Pieces, the sweet lady bugs from the Hug Bugs Doodle Pops and then added some shaped sprinkles from the With All My Heart and Bright Bouquet packs.

For my accordion pages, I cut two strips of Raspberry textured cardstock.  I scored them both to form the accordion folds, then overlapped and glued the two pieces together to form one long strip. I glued the covers to the end pieces to form the album.  Now for the fun part... decorating the pages!

I used a stitched rectangle die to cut a variety of papers from the 6x6 pad and used them to cover most of the pages.  I also used smaller stitched dies to make photo mats, and the note pad pieces from the Bits and Pieces for journaling spots.  I then pulled out the Bits & Pieces, Doodle Pops, This & That Cardstock Stickers, Icon Stickers, Odds & Ends, shaped sprinkles  and Chit Chats and started decorating.

I made a little pocket to hold one of the tags from the Bits & Pieces.   I love the word stickers from the This & That stickers, they're fun to add to photos.  I also popped up some of the elements for some dimension.  Here are more pages...

Since I believe it's more fun to see projects in action, I created a flip-through video of my album in action...

Be sure to stop by the blog over the next couple of weeks for more Lots of Love inspiration, the design team has been working hard and they have some wonderful projects for you!  And if you've created projects using the Lots of Love collection, be sure to tag Doodlebug Design on socials, we love to see your creations!  That's it for me today, thanks for stopping by to peek!
