I❤️TRAVEL MINI ALBUM | with Traci

I can't remember the last time I had so much fun with a new collection! I say it every time, but this is definitely my new favorite!!
From the vintage hotel key, to the adorable door hangers, the odds and ends package is full of colorful cuteness! In addition to the icons and words, there is even a third pack full of die cut tags!
I love the little 3x4 cards like the one above ... they look so cute on some of the fold-out pages of this album.
I used envelopes and cards throughout this album too. The envelope above is on the inside cover and will be a fun place to tuck notes, hotel keys, and other memorabilia from the trip.
This album will be available as a do-it-yourself kit over in my shop at Artsy Albums. Please stop by and check out the details because since there are so many fun die cuts with this line, I actually will have THREE kits ... one for any vacation, one for cruise memories,  and one for a road trip!
I hope these albums will inspire you to save all of your wonderful travel memories with I Heart Travel!!

I❤️TRAVEL - DAILY DOODLES TRAVEL PLANNER | with Jomelle

Travel theme is my jam so you can bet I was super excited about the new "I heart travel" collection. I couldn't wait to set up my Mint Daily Doodles TN. I will be using this TN for all kinds of my family's travel plans and document all our fun adventures.

My travel set up makes me want to grab our passports and go. I think it's time for me to plan another fun vacation and explore.
First thing I created was my front cover for my insert. I chose to use the light blue paper as the background and I started looking through odds & ends as well as the doodle pops to see which ones I want to use. After I found the pieces I want to use, I started placing them and layering them. I then added the washi on the bottom of the page.
My family loved Tokyo, Japan and Seoul, Korea. We are planning to go back to our favorite countries and do more exploring. It just so happens that I was able to find the flag for Korea and Japan in my odds & ends. It was perfect for what I intended to use this TN for.
My Daily Doodles wouldn't be complete without decorating my planer pockets. Oh and it was fun and hard at the same time choosing which ones I wanted to use since they are all so cute.
Life is too short. Travel the world and see what other countries has to offer. There are so many different places that I want to visit.
My boys are super excited to go back to Tokyo and Seoul. I am more excited I have my Daily Doodles all set up for our travel adventures. Thank you for stopping by and I hope to see you next time. I will be adding more to my travel set up.

I❤️TRAVEL SHADOWBOX CARD | with Kathy

I am so excited to be kicking off a couple of weeks of the fun new I ❤️Travel Collection!  I've been waiting for Doodlebug to create a travel collection and this one does not disappoint!  My box came last week and I immediately dug in and have a lot of projects started!  For my first project, I created a fun shadowbox card... take a peek...

I love the little smiley faces on the sun and hot air balloon and thought they would make a cute card!  I used elements from the Chit Chat, Odds & Ends and Icon Stickers to make my little scene.  Oh and how could I forget, one of the cute little clouds from the Hello Sunshine Shaped Sprinkles.

The card stands up on it's own, so it can easily be displayed.  I embellished the outside of the card with some of the new papers in the collection.  Here's a close-up of the inside...

I love how the layers give it such dimension!  That's it for me today.  Make sure to stop by the blog all this week and next for more I ❤️Travel inspiration from the design team, you won't be disappointed!

A PURR-FECT LAYOUT | with Kathy

My name is Kathy and I'm a crazy cat lady.   To most people this isn't really "news."  I am the mom to two very spoiled kitties... and since my daughter has been away at school and I work from home, I spend a lot of time with them. This means I have lots of pictures of them that really need to be scrapped.  I've been hording the Kitten Smitten collection for a while, so I came up with this layout of my quirky boy Jax.  Take a peek...

I created the Silhouette file for this layout, and backed the letters with some papers from Kitten Smitten, and some Gingham Linen Petite Prints and of course Jax.
I dug into the Kitten Smitten Odds and Ends and found the cute little black kitty, and the notepad paper for my journaling.  The mouse and the paw prints are from the icon sticker sheet, and the fishy clip is from the cute clips.
I embellished more with some word stickers from the This and That sheet and sprinkled some sprinkles around the letters.

I popped it all up to give it a little dimension.  If you'd like to use this file for your kitty pics, you can download the file from my blog here.  That's it for me today, thanks for stopping by to peek!

DRAGON TAILS MINI ALBUM | with Tya

Dragon Tails -  what an ADORABLE collection! After working on my last mini album which used the Fairy Tales collection, I knew that I had to make another mini with the Dragon Tails papers too! I loved this album! It is made from chipboard and paper and it measures 6 1/2 x 4 1/2 inches with a 2-inch spine. Plenty of room for some flips and flaps and pull out photo mats to add photos of a party!

Each of the pages is constructed the same. They have a base page, then a flap that holds a 4x4 inch card like below:

The flap lifts up and reveals the base page and the back of the flap is decorated. You could also place a picture or journaling on the flap instead.
The pages are made so that you have a pocket that you can place a pull out that will hold a 4x6 inch photo. I used a tab punch on the edge so you can easily access the pocket.
The back side of the page is just made with simple papers and embellishments. you can add another small pocket at the bottom to hold pictures or tags if desired.
This is just the other side of the pull out pocket. I backed it with some Tangerine Gingham Linen Petite Prints.

I followed this tutorial to create this album: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K4lho5hJwng

You will need to watch the album walkthrough and then she shows you how to construct the album at the end. Just be aware that her album used 3x4 cards on her flaps so her papers will measure smaller.  I used a 4 1/4 x 4 3/4 inch piece of paper and scored on the 4 3/4 inch side at .5 inches to create the flap to hold the 4x4 inch cut apart.
Here is the walkthrough video of my completed album:
Please let me know if you have any questions. This album came together in an afternoon and it would be a great little way to record some memories of your favorite birthday boy! Thanks so much for stopping by! Happy Crafting!

IT'S NOT SUMMER WITHOUT FLIP FLOPS | with Jennifer

Hello, Doodlebug fans. Nothing says Summer like a fun new pair of Flip Flops, right. :)
Well for this colorful pair I used patterned papers from the Sweet Summer collection, along with some Petite Prints.

Doodlebug cutting files were used for the cherries. They originally had smiley faces on them, but for this project, I decided to leave them off.  Die-cut citrus slices and a few sprinkles were also used on the top of each flip flop.

Another cutting file was used for the labels and some hand stitching was used throughout to add some texture.
Thanks for stopping by. Happy Crafting!

ALL MEMORIES ARE WORTH PRESERVING | with Tegan

What do you do when it rains on your vacation? Take a selfie in your ponchos and document your day using the adorable Doodlebug Designs Simply Spring collection, of course! All of the cute icons are just perfect for creating springtime projects- rain or shine! I also couldn't wait to use the Doodlebug Design Simply Spring Clouds cut files and I love the way my clouds turned out!
I started by using the City of Love cloud print patterned paper from the French Kiss collection as my background paper. I then used raindrops from the Doodlebug Simply Spring Umbrella cut file to cut my rain background out of white cardstock. I then backed the raindrops with aqua blue checkered patterned paper.  I used the super fun Doodlebug Design Simply Spring Clouds cut file to cut out clouds from my favorite Simply Spring patterned papers. I used coordinating Doodlebug cardstock to cut out the cloud outline. Skinny Cardstock Alphabet stickers in Tangerine finish off my title.
I used another fun small print patterned paper from the Simply Spring collection to cut out a second cloud. Again I used coordinating Doodlebug cardstock to die cut the outline of the cloud. Seriously aren't these clouds just the cutest?! I used Simply Spring Odds & Ends pieces and Mini Icons Stickers to embellish my clouds.
Thanks for joining me today! I hope I have inspired you to document your next rainy day using the adorable Doodlebug Design Simply Spring collection!

DINO-RAWR-SOME CARD | with Karen

Now don't get me wrong - I love cute little unicorns as much as the next person. But every now and again, I have to say that nothing beats a fantastic little dinosaur! Rawrrrr! And with Doodlebug's awesome colour coordinated products, you can mix and match to your hearts content! Have a little girl with a birthday coming up who happens to love dinosaurs? No problem! Use one of the new doodle stamps, like this cutie from the "dino-mite" set, and colour her up to match some fun papers from the "fairy tales" collection. It' as easy as that! And for even more fun, add some embellishments like these cute cloud stamps that happen to be from another fun stamp set that called "rainbows and unicorns". You'll have a card design that will look like it was always meant to be!
So don't be afraid to mix and match and create a card or project that is uniquely you! The only draw back is that you might have a hard time giving it away!
Thanks for stopping by!

AN EXPLOSION OF COLOR ON TODAY'S LAYOUT | with Erica

Did you know that Doodlebug has a rainbow selection of gorgeous cardstock? It has a beautiful texture and cuts wonderfully in die cutting machines! I pulled out a handful of colors to back this beautiful butterfly cutfile from Paige Evans. I backed each butterfly trying to stay in a pretty rainbow order.
I positioned the cutfile so it looked as if the butterflies were flying off the left hand side of the page. The photo I am documenting is of my youngest son Liam and I and I placed it towards the bottom of the cut file. I added matching ink splatters to my white background to match the Doodlebug cardstock.
I added lots of pretty sprinkles in coordinating colors around the layout and matching Doodlebug buttons. Simple layout but just look at all that beautiful color. Definitely a great way to use up some cardstock and get a lot of pretty color on a page. Take a look at my completed layout. I added my journaling to the bottom corner as well and a few die cuts from Simply Spring Odds & Ends. Thanks so much for stopping by today!
