DOODLEBUG SHAKERS FLORAL SNOW GLOBE | with Karen

Sometimes a product comes along that you didn't know you needed in your crafty life until it is in your hands. You stare it down, put it to work and then quickly realize...there is no going back. That, my crafty friends, happens to be the exact experience I had with Doodlebug's new Shakers. These amazing little spheres have me going gaga! I had no idea I was going to love them as much as I do.

   Shakers-2

You see, I love to make paper flowers. And I am always looking for ways to add definition and texture to the flowers. Take this set of flowers that I created with Doodlebug's Thanks a Bunch and Hello Fall Doodle Cuts and some textured cardstock. I wanted to create a little floral scene inside the adorable new DIY Kit - Snow Globe. So I whipped up a few flowers to team up with the Shakers inside the snow globe. But as I was sitting at the crafty table, I realized that not only will the shakers be adorable inside the snow globe, but they could make the most amazing centres for my flowers.

So I got out some liquid adhesive and my tweezers and voila! In fact, not only did they work, but they were the perfect size! I played around with different placements and had a blast adding that little bit of extra to each flower.

Now, before I go on, I do have to say that this is not for the faint of heart. It is a bit tedious, but if you love fiddly work (think - diamond painting tedious), you are going to love this! For the two sunflower florals, I added a layer of Glossy Accents on the top too...I actually really loved it without but I wanted to make sure they stayed in place in case this décor piece gets moved around or bumped here and there.

  Shakers-1

I love the way this piece turned out - and it wouldn't be nearly as amazing without those Shakers! It's like the sprinkles on top of a cupcake - delightful without, but something extra "yummy" with them on. I have a feeling that Shakers are going to become a new obsession for me! Doodlebug, why do you have to do this to me??!!! Thanks for stopping by! Hugs,

PETITE PRINTS HAPPY TOGETHER LAYOUT | with Erica

One of my favorite products to use with pattern paper is steel dies! There a so many ways to use a die set to create a page! I really wanted to highlight the new Candy Stripe-Sprinkles and Plaid-Polka Dot Petite Prints so I pulled out the papers that match the Pretty Kitty collection!

I also pulled out some of the Doodlebug Design Stand Alone Dies! For this layout I used the Hello Fall and Spring Garden Stand Alone Dies. I die cut flowers and leaves using the new Petite Prints 6x6 paper pads. For the design of my layout I went with a floral wreath!

I assembled all the die cut flowers and arranged them in a circle on a piece of white cardstock that I trimmed down to 11x11. I matted the white cardstock on the Dear to My Heart Paper from the Pretty Kitty collection and then matted onto my favorite Backyard Bunch floral paper in this collection.

Once all my die cut flowers were arranged on the page I went back in with some smaller flowers and popped them up around the page. I added some puffy stickers, shaped sprinkles and sprinkles to the center of some of the flowers and also around the wreath.

I adhered my photo to the right side of the wreath and added one of the die cut flowers to the bottom right corner! At the top of my photo I added a tab from the Pretty Kitty This & That cardstock stickers and adhered a word sticker from the Seaside Summer collection. I love how this layout came together using the new Petite Prints and Stand Alone dies!

Thanks so much for stopping by the Doodlebug Blog! I hope you are inspired to use the new Petite Prints with dies in your stash! Have a great day!

PETITE PRINTS FLOWER BOUQUETS | with Niella

Hey crafty crew! Thanks a bunch (excuse the pun) for popping by, it's Niella here with such a fun and pretty project showcase using the versatile and sweet Plaid-Polka dot rainbow petite print papers and the ever-versatile doodle-cuts! To begin, I die cut a whole bunch of different sized flowers using the Thanks a Bunch set and also the Spring Garden Doodle Cut sets. These are my fave-to-date die sets to create with ;-)  And the different patterns and colors of the new Petite Prints were perfect for this project!

And now to show you what I've created! Darling paper flower bouquets; super layered and extra special!

The measurement for the pink bouquet is: 8.25" x 5" wide and the kraft bouquet is: 6.5" x 4" at widest point. Adorable right! These can be displayed on your craftroom shelf or office pinboard! How about gifting these!

Start off but making the bottom piece which will hold the flowers. I've simply angled a square piece of each chosen paper and folded the sides in and then folded a smaller corner outwards.

Then with the flowers, I've pinched together each petal to add dimension and then layered each off set upon each other with a foam pop dot. Then I've added a Sprinkle enamel dot as the flower centre.

The bouquet still needed some extra detail, so using the leaf die from the Hello Fall Doodle Cuts set; I die cut a whole bunch and tucked the finished leaves in between the flowers.

Finish off each bouquet with some Doodle Twine (my other fave product of the moment)

And how about those tweety birds! Adding in the love birds only seemed natural! How cute are they perched amongst the flowers! SWOON!

These turned out so SO stinkin' cute and I hope these inspire you! Can't wait to see what y'all create, please don't forget to share your creations on all your socials by tagging us in so we can see what you've been up too :-) Until next time; doodle dee!

FARMERS MARKET LAYERED FLOWER CARDS | with Karen

When the new Farmers Market collection arrived at my house, I was smitten. Fall is my favorite time of the year and all the harvest fun that comes with the end of summer really warms my heart! So while I thought I would first be grabbing for fun fruits and cute harvest papers to craft with, it was actually the Hello Fall Doodle Cuts that caught my eye. A whole set of die cuts just for flowers?! Yes, please!

All-three-2

I decided to start a set of cards with the coordinating Cards & Envelopes and added a background layer of the 12x12 papers on each - just for some more color. Then, I got my die cut machine and got to work!

Closeup-1

These Doodle Cuts create the most beautiful layered flowers! I used textured card stock for all my cuts, coordinating them with the collection's color scheme. I layered some of the flowers with foam adhesive for even more dimension.

I then added a sentiment from the Chit Chat set on each, putting together a series of cards I can use for birthdays this season.

Closeup-3

A little Sprinkle or two here and there added a little texture and shine to the cards. Voila - a beautiful fall bouquet of cards!

All-three-1

Flowers might not be the first thing I think of when autumn crosses my mind, but this awesome Doodle Cut set is going to be making a regular round on my crafty table all times of the year now - reminding what I have been missing out on! Thanks for stopping by! Hugs,
