Halloween treats are not just for kids! Everyone should be able to get in on the yummy part of the season. Sometimes that means you might need to change up the treat a bit. No, I am not talking about the beverage kind - I'm talking about something a little more sophisticated...like a peppermint patty wrapped up in Doodlebug Hey Pumpkin paper, of course!

I love these simple little treat wraps featuring some of the 12x12 papers from the Hey Pumpkin collection. For these, I used the Hey Pumpkin, Moonlight Magic, Boo-tiful Bouquet and Jolly Jack-o-lantern papers.

While they look a little bit like a tag, you can see from the side that they hold a little treat inside! Tied up with some Doodle Twine in Beetle, these little wraps take these mini peppermint patties to a whole new level!

Oh, and then all the fun happens! Grab the die cuts from the Odds & Ends and Chit Chat packs to decorate up the front. Don't be afraid to have the cute characters and shapes come off of the edges slightly to add more interest!

SWEET & SPOOKY TREAT CONTAINERS | with Karen

It's the most wonderful time of the year! Nope - not Christmas...it's Halloween. Now, don't get me wrong, I am also a HUGE fan of Christmas, but there is something so fun about crafting at Halloween that it is definitely my favourite crafting season. And with collections like Sweet & Spooky to work with, it's no wonder!

Today I decided to see if I could make some little treat containers with the Sweet & Spooky 6x6 paper. Often when I am making treat containers I use 12x12 paper, but I love the little detailed prints you can find on the 6x6 paper. And given that the treats you can buy this time of year seem to be getting littler and littler, it seemed like it could all be a cute little combination.

Well, what do you think? Cute? Each one of these bags is made out of only one sheet of 6x6 paper and fits two mini treats.

I embellished these with some adorable Doodle-pops and topped them off with a Mini Paperclip and some ribbon from my stash. They were really easy to make too! Want to find out how? It's your lucky day because I took pictures along the way.

Here's how to make them:

1. If your paper is directional, make sure the pattern is facing up. Score a 6x6 sheet at 2", 2 3/4", 4 3/4" and 5 1/2".
2. Turn the paper 90 degrees clockwise.
3. Score at 3/4" and 4 1/2". Turn the paper back to it's original orientation.

4. Take the top edge of the paper and fold it down. This will create the top edge of your bag. Create a wedge cut on the right side on the top tab only.

5. Along the bottom edge, you will see 3 small tabs that have been created by your fold lines. cut up the the 3/4" score line on each tab, creating a wedge cut on each. Completely trim off the one on the right side. The purpose here is just to make the bottom easier to fold together.

6. Use a bone folder to crease all your fold lines.

7. Add some glue to the long tab on the right side. Glue it to the opposite side of the treat bag to form the "cylinder". The little tab at the top that you created in step 4 should not be glued down yet.

8. Working with the little tab now, add some glue to the top of it and tuck it under the longer top edge.

9. Add some glue to the bottom tabs and fold them inwards. Take your bone folder and stick it inside to press down all the tabs.

10. Flip the bag over and pinch in the sides. This will take a bit of effort because there are a few layers of paper here.

Then fill them up and seal them with a Mini Paperclip like the Beetle Black ones I used! I also embellished this one with the cute Hello Sugar Doodle-pop, but there are so many in this collection you can choose from!

HEY PUMPKIN CANDY BAR WRAPS | with Karen

Treat, treats everywhere! 'Tis the season for all the goodie goodness - in my tummy and on my crafty table! Doodlebug's Hey Pumpkin collection has me crafting and snacking all at the same time with the project I want to share with you today. And I hope you will find it oh so satisfying!

While I love a little Halloween chocolate, I love a big Halloween chocolate even better. Wrap that candy bar in Doodlebug goodies and I am picking treats over tricks any day! These little candy bar wraps were created by cutting some of the 12x12 paper and then scored to wrap around each bar. They are a fun 4x4" size, so they work perfectly with the paper...

...staying snug inside until pushed out of one end.

Each one of the bars was embellished with some die cuts from the Odds & Ends and Bits & Pieces packs. On a couple of them, I also added a little sentiment from the Chit Chat packs! The whole goal with these designs was to create as much depth as possible with layers of die cuts attached with 3D adhesive strips.

On the last one, I wanted to show you that there are so many beautiful florals in this collection so you can even create a little treat that is less about Halloween and more about the fun and bright colours of the season. So everyone in you life - whether they acknowledge Halloween or not - can get in on the tastiness!

And if you are wondering if I picked that candy bars because their colours matched Hey Pumpkin colours, you better believe I did! You don't have to - just make your wrapper a little longer to hide more of the wrapper and have some fun with it! Thanks for stopping by! Hugs,

HEY PUMPKIN TREAT HOLDERS | with Tya

Hello there crafty friends! Who's ready for some Halloween treat holders!?! Treat holders are one of my favorite things to make! I knew I needed to make something with a treat included when I saw all the yumminess of the Hey Pumpkin collection!

Each of my little treat holders is made from beetle black textured cardstock and are SO easy to make! You can whip these bases up so quickly that you can make a whole batch of these for trick-or-treaters, co-workers, etc. I used this tutorial here to make the holders

After you get the bases all made, then the fun part comes! The decorating!! I turned to the 6x6 Paper Pad to decorate my bags. The cute pattern papers were just the right scale for these smaller bags, and the sheet of mini tags in the paper pad was the perfect size to decorate the front.

I decorated the tags with some October Sky Shape Sprinkles, Icon Stickers, and some Puffy Icon Stickers.

I slid some of my favorite treats into the pocket and then tied the top with some glitter ribbon and some Doodle Twine.
