Christmas Town Mini Album | with Nicole

Hi there Doodlebug fans! Nicole here to share a fun and interactive Christmastown project with you!

I wanted to come up with a creative way to use the Christmastown collection Cards & Envelopes set so I decided to stitch together a few of the envelopes and cards to create this fun mini-album to capture the memories of the season! Add a few odds & ends or chit chat tags, Doodlebug Twine and a few mini clothespins to hold the album together.

 

I started by stacking up the cards/envelopes to create as even of a design for the minibook as I could, trimming off the flaps from the envelopes. The envelopes are great to create little pockets to tuck memorabilia or notes to Santa in.

Throughout the album, I added in journaling cards from the Christmastown Christmas Jammies patterned paper, and added in journaling lines, so I could add things throughout the month easily.

You can add in this & that stickers, sprinkles or mini paperclips to add little items to the corner of the album or just to decorate. You can add it a flippable page to add more photos or journaling by adding patterned paper, folded in half and adhered inside one of the pages. I stitched mine in place - you just need to be strategic about when and where you stitch.

I left spaces on each page spread, so I can print off photos from the holidays and include them inside later.

Some of the cards have little flaps on them so you can tuck them to stay together. This pink card flips open and as the journaling card is popped with foam adhesive, the pink tab tucks under the journaling card to stay in place.

Add a few Doodlebug Jewels to journaling cards to add a little holiday sparkle!

Christmas Town Layout | with Nicole

Hi there Doodlebug fans! Nicole here to share a new Christmastown project with you!

I love that this collection is the perfect combination of winter AND holiday too! I chose to use the Christmastown collection to create a wintery page about my new warm woolen mittens made from a recycled sweater!

I chose to back the patterned paper with a raspberry pink piece of Doodlebug Designs cardstock and layer in several papers from the Christmastown 6x6 paper pad.

I couldn't resist adding a fun title using several different colors of the Abigail alphabet stickers layered together with a few snowflake stickers from the Christmastown collection

The Christmastown Odds & Ends were a prefect addition to the page; I added a few snowflakes and banners to add some finishing touches to the page!

Christmas Town Layout | with Nicole

Hi there Doodlebug fans! Nicole back on the blog again to celebrate the holidays using the new Christmas Town collection!

I have this thing with patterned paper, I really hate to not use a lot of patterns, so this time, I punched several circles from various papers in the collection in several sizes and built my own tree on one side of the page.

I used foam adhesive to pop all those circle up and add lots of dimension. The variety of circles adds some visual interest and makes the tree very whimsical too! Next, I added in several stickers and bling to parts of the tree for a little holiday sparkle!

I couldn't resist adding in the fun Doodlepop Santa Claus and some Odds & Ends diecuts to the bottom area of my photo. The perfect touch to finish off the page.

Pumpkin Party Layout | with Nicole

Hey there Doodlebug fans! Nicole back on the blog today to share a Halloween project using the Pumpkin Party collection!

There are so many great patterns in this collection, so I opted to mix several of them up using my trusty circle punch and the 6x6 paper pad. I used my 1 1/2" punch to punch various patterns from the paper pad, and then trimmed them in half to create a fun border on my page.

I couldn't resist using several designs from both the Pumpkin Party Chit Chat and Pumpkin Party Odds & Ends to decorate my page around the photo.

That adorable pumpkin Doodlepop adds the perfect little touch to the word bubbles around my photo.

Pumpkin Party Layout | with Nicole

Hey there Doodlebug fans! Nicole here to share a fun project using the new Pumpkin Party collection!

It is hard not to love the fun Halloween colors and patterns in this collection. I decided to create a super large title for my page using a Doodlebug Designs Silhouette cut file and a few of those fun patterns.

I used those papers layered over a black pattern in the collection to create the title and added some fun googly-eyed sprinkles to the center for fun!

I also added some Doodlebug Designs Sprinkles to the centers of the eyes for the spiders on my page that are sprinkled around a diecut spiderweb design.

I could not resist adding in a Doodlepop trick or treat sticker to finish off my page! So easy to pull a Halloween project off in a matter of time!

Petite Prints Fall Layout | with Nicole

Hey there Doodlebug fans! Nicole here today to share a fall inspired using some Doodlebug Designs Petite Prints!

Doodlebug has so many great Petite Prints patterns available and the Gingham-Linen patterns are SO perfect for fall.

I chose to the Gingham-Linen Petite Prints in colors such as Ruby, Maple, Limeade, Grasshopper, Coral, Mandarin and Bumblebee and cut them into small leaf shapes, using a Doodlebug Designs Silhouette cut file.

Once all the leaves were in place, I added a bit of Doodlebug Designs Chunky Sugar Coating Glitter  to some of the leaves with some wet glue to add just a touch of sparkle and texture to my page.

Petite Prints Layout | with Nicole

Hey there Doodlebug fans! Nicole here today to share some inspiration using the new Doodlebug Designs Petite Prints!

I am a huge fan of the rainbow of color that Doodlebug has to offer and the new Petite Prints patterns (floral-graph & dot-stripe) are a perfect addition to co-ordinate with any of the Doodlebug collections, or on their own too!

I chose to use both the Petite Prints in floral-graph & dot-stripe for my colorful project. It was too hard to narrow down which colors and patterns to use, so I used them all!

I cut the papers from the 6x6 paper pad into triangles and then started to work the rainbow and build the pattern across my page. I worked in typical ROYGBIV style and added the neutrals at the end of the design!

I added in a large diecut shape for my title and added in some Sprinkles, and die cut stickers from the Hello collection to the color blocked areas.

I just LOVE the new patterns and hope you will find a way to incorporate them into your projects too!

Using Layers Upon Layers of Pretty Paper | with Nicole

I am totally "stuck" on the new So Much Pun collection! I absolutely love the whimsical feel to this new range and I love how the papers are so different yet you can mix and match to still achieve a cohesive and fun look. And, I had a hard time choosing which papers to leave out so in the end I decided on a layered design which allowed me to use all my favourites and more.

I grabbed the 6x6 paper pad and cut some simple squares and rectangle and loved the rainbow of colors and patterns to choose from. The great mix of colors made it quite simple to layer the papers together - I added some foam adhesive behind the bottom of the layers to pop them up a bit.

How adorable are those cute little happy face stickers from the So Sweet Shape Sprinkles, they are just the perfect addition to the centers of the So Much Pun This & That stickers

Because this collection is true Doodlebug style, it's easy to add in some Doodlebug Essentials like the Boutique Buttons I added in various colors.

Hello Teen Layout | with Nicole

Good morning Doodlebug fans! Nicole here to talk about using your basics. We all have those items in our stash that are great staples, but often get overlooked with all the fun patterned paper out there.

I created this page using some of those great basics and you can too!

I used a combination of patterned papers in a few of the 6x6 petite prints paper pads to fill in my large diecut title and alternate up and down my page in various color blocking. It wasn't too hard to choose which colors to use as the double sided paper pads have so much variety in them! I used a mixture of grid and polka dot patterns for my page.

I just love the Boutique Buttons, so I grabbed the ones that co-ordinated with the papers that I chose and added some repeating rows along each color block in Limeade, Denim, Tangerine and Swimming Pool and mixed in some Matte Sprinkles from the Birthday Boy and Zoo collections too.

It is really easy to pull together a page using just the basics and it turn out more than just basic! I hope you are inspired to break out some of your own Doodlebug basics and get to work too!
