Cut Files | Two New Releases

Introducing:
Digital Cut Files

FIRST SNOW LAYOUT | BY TRACI PENROD
using
Frosty Friends Digital Cut Files

It doesn't snow every year in Georgia, but when it does, it's a big deal.  And seeing snow for the first time ever, is a really big deal!!!
I created this layout of my granddaughter and loved using the Frosty Friends cut files to bring the page to life.  I created the title on my own using Lori Whitlock's Everyday font and Doodlebug's Snowflake from the Here Comes Santa files.

I layered the pieces with foam tape and a little bit of Doodlebug's sugar coated glitter, used paper and sprinkles from the Polar Pals collection, and tucked a little journaling tag behind the adorable penguin.

WINTER YUM LAYOUT | BY KAREN HANSON

Working with cut files can be so much fun!  I love that you can adjust sizes and put shapes together in new ways.  The Snowflake and Snowflake 2 cut files were the inspiration for this layout.

I adjusted the sizes of the four different shapes and then welded them together for a large die cut that became the background for the layout.  I added some Petite Print paper behind some of the snowflakes for a bit of interest on the textured cardstock background and then finished it off by using the Winter title file and adding some glitter for a bit of winter sparkle.  It's winter yummy indeed!

Frosty Friends Repurposed Wreath

Hi There Doodlebug Friends! It's Tya here to share with you my Frosty Friends project. I just adore this line so much!  So - I just have to say that I am so blessed to be surrounded by such inspirational and creative friends - I was totally inspired to make my project after I saw my amazing friend and Doodlebug Design Team Coordinator Lori Allred demonstrate how to make this adorable and absolutely super creative way to make this cute wreath on one of her upcoming My Craft Channel segments. If you haven't checked out her awesome Inspired by Pinterest shows you should!

Now at first glance this looks like just an ordinary wreath - but let me show you what I used to make it - you will be amazed :)
This wreath is make using a 12 inch foam wreath form and these microfiber dusters (like a Swiffer) that I picked up from the local Dollar Store!  I LOVE how the dusters resemble a flock of fluffy snow! Perfect for the Frost Friends line!

To make the wreath you just need to peel apart the duster portion. It comes apart very easily and you will get 2 of the strips like the one above, out of each duster.  Then simply hot glue the dusters around the wreath form until it is completely covered.

I then had a lot of fun using all sorts of elements from the Frosty Friends line - I cut out a huge paper snowflake from my Silhouette digital die cut machine and then layered a snowman from the Mix and Match Snowman Craft Kit. I added some stickers from the Frosty Friends This and That Sticker sheet and the Icon Sticker sheet.
I then added some folded paper rosettes and topped them with some cute winter critters from the Frosty Friends Doodlepops. I also added some Winter Sprinkles and some Sugar Coated Cardstock circles that I punched out with some paper punches and added Snowflake Doodlepops and beautiful white buttons tied with bakers twine.

Thanks for stopping by today and don't be afraid to think out of the box when it comes to crafting! I had so much fun repurposing the dusters into a fun and fluffy winter wreath! Happy crafting!

Good morning, Doodlebug friends!  It's Wendy Sue here with you today, sharing a fun little project I created with the fabulously sweet and wintery "Frosty Friends" collection.

We're six days into November, and that's just about early enough to start planning neighbor/friend holiday gifts.  I love coming up with lots of different ideas to give away - and this is the first one I've created for this year - little "frosty friends" hot cocoa packets.

I started by making several tags.  I used patterned papers to create the 3" x 6" tag bases.  Next, I cut 3"x4" pieces from coordinating papers in the 6x6 pad.

That's when the real fun started - I added different elements - stickers, washi tape, mini doodle-pops, mini paperclips, sprinkles, etc. to embellish each tag.  Many of the papers and embellishments have glittered elements - love the little bit of sparkle and shine added to these tags!

At the top of each tag, I place a mini doodle-pop snowflake and a colorful clothespin.  I purchased several of these awesome little glassine bags from a local store.  They are just the right size to tuck a 6x6 paper inside - and you can see it through the frost bag!

Next, I added a packet or two of hot cocoa mix; I loved that these Swiss Miss packets had blue images and text on them - they matched the collection perfectly!  Next, I folded over the top of the bag and clipped the tag right on to it.

These tags would be cut on any package, card, or even as a little garland!   There are just so many fun possibilities with the frosty friends collection!!

Frosty Friends: Ornament & Card

Hello!  Shellye here to share a Frosty Friends Gift Set that includes a handmade card and altered paper mache ornament!  Whether you're in need of a Christmas or New Year's gift, this idea will suit either to a tee!

I love to keep my snowy friends out long after the Christmas holidays.
This easy-to-make ornament starts with an usual shaped paper mache ornament that I purchased at Hobby Lobby.  I traced around the design onto a 12X12 paper and cut.

For the face and body I die-cut oval shapes from one of the 6X6 Paper Pad papers.  I added them to the front of the ornament with foam adhesive.

The fun comes in decorating the snowman.  You can choose from any of the cute stickers to add to the center of the body.  Stitch on some Doodle Twine if you're inclined.

Give your snowman any face that you'd like...enamel dots come in very handy here!

For the scarf I took different colors and several strands of Doodle Twine and
braided them into one length.  The two ends were knotted off and trimmed and then
wrapped around his neck.

Make a quick little card to go along with the ornament!
Here I've used some 6X6 papers and one of the Mix & Match Snowmen Craft Kit's
snowmen and placed him on a snowy hill.

Pile on the cute stickers to complete the scene!

Frosty Friends: Sticker Collage Layout

Welcome to our second week of the 'Frosty Friends' release party... it's Melinda with you today and I am kicking of the week with my winter layout complete with critter collage. As soon as I spied 'Frosty Friends' I knew exactly what I wanted to do and couldn't wait to get my hands on all those itty bitty penguins, polar bears and snowmen!

I know I promised I'd slow down on the collage based layouts but I don't think anyone can begrudge me this one... I mean really, those little Frosty Friends were impossible to resist.

How lucky am I to have a well travelled niece who just happened to visit America recently during winter. I had so many lovely photos to choose from so decided to do a little montage using small polaroids across the page.

If you take a closer look you will notice the new 'Sprinkles' epoxy dots have glittery sparkles which are simply the icing on the cake for this gorgeous collection.

Now, if you are wanting to get your hands on the new Frosty Friends collection then here's a recap on the giveaway details...

Frosty Friends: Double Snow Globe Inspiration

We are excited to feature two amazing ideas today on the blog featuring "Snow Globes". Both Sharm and Amanda created a couple of darling projects with the new Frosty Friends Collection. You will want to share these to copy for later!!

Snow Globe Window Cards
by Amanda Coleman

Christmastime is (sort of) almost here and that means it's time to start cranking out holiday cards.  Inspired by the snow globe sticker in the Frosty Friends collection, I made a trio of bright and happy snow globe window cards to send to friends and family this Christmas season.

Is there anything cuter than a Doodlebug snowman?  I used the adorable die cut snowmen from the Mix & Match Snowmen Craft Kit as the focal point of each of these snow globe window cards.

I started with a card base and die cut a circle in the front of the card.  I then trimmed a white panel and die cut a circle slightly larger than the one in the card so it would create a nice border around the snow globe.

Each card has a complete scene on the inside.  I adhered a piece of patterned paper on the inside of the card and then trimmed a piece of sugar coated cardstock to create the snow.  I assembled and adhered the snowman to the background and added some fun sticker details.

I die cut the snow globe bases from woodgrain patterned paper from the Friendly Forest collection.  As an alternate to die cutting, you can simply cut a strip of patterned paper at an angle.

I chose not to use any foam squares or add any dimensional embellishments on these cards so they would be nice and flat and easy to mail.  If you are giving these cards in person, pop up some elements of the snowman or add some fun embellishments to add texture and dimension to the cards.
Use the print and cut function on your die cutting machine to create a custom sentiment.  Mat your sentiment with cardstock to really make your sentiment pop.  Don't have an electronic die cutting machine?  Bend your clear stamps to follow the lines of a curvy banner.

Thanks for stopping by today!

Frosty Friends: Sticker Collage Card

I wish I could say "brrr", but it's SO hot right now! It's unseasonably warm here in Carmel, CA and it has been like 90 degrees! None of us have AC so it has been.. interesting. But that hasn't stopped me! Courtney from Court's Crafts here with a card to share! I fell in love with the embellishments in this collection and wanted to showcase as many of them as possible!

Frosty Friends is SUCH a darling collection! Doesn't it just scream "Frozen!?" Well, today I am channeling my inner (fellow DT member) Melinda Spinks and I created an embellishment cluster. The card is supposed be a decomposed snow globe. Can you see it?

My little circle of love. Isn't. It. So. Cute.? I used Melinda's idea of putting down a circle and indenting around it slightly to give me my edge. You can see it slightly where the bird is top right and also bottom left. You cannot see it at all in person.

You can also see the sparkles in the pink and dark blue sprinkles

The sentiment was made up of a section on the fancy frills (winter) and "warm" and "winter" are teensy type letters in lily white and blue jean.

Check out all the dimension and sparkle! The sprinkle shapes are fantastic (snowflakes) and the sugar coating on the bird's earmuffs. yum. The little sugar coated dots are on the icons sheet and the one held by the paperclip was part of the fancy frills. :)

The glitter accents on this collection are AMAZING! Here is the sentiment and winter is covered in sugar coating. Scrumptious.

I thought I would show you the overall dimension of the card.
