GINGERBREAD KISSES HOT COCOA SET | with Jen

I love the Sticker Doodles which are new to Doodlebug this year. They are heavy duty stickers that stand up to washing, so they're perfect for water bottles! But what do you do with the holiday ones? A neighbor gift of course! I used the Sticker Doodles for a gift set of hot cocoa mugs and some hot cocoa mix. I found the mugs and the mix (in that super cute bottle) at TJ Maxx.

I made sure the mugs were clean and also wiped the area where I wanted to apply the Sticker Doodles with rubbing alcohol to make sure they would stick down permanently. I used the Merry Christmas Sticker Doodle on each mug and then added Santa and Gingie as well.

I decorated the bottle using the 6x6 Gingerbread Kisses paper pad. I added a little circle element from the Chit Chat pack to the top. I finished it off with a tag from the Bits and Pieces that I wrote the hot cocoa directions on and then decorated with Ladybug Alphabet Soup stickers and Gingerbread Kisses Puffy Icons. I tied it on with three colors of Doodle Twine.

I completed the set with a tag made with the Christmas Cocoa Doodle Cuts set. I added some paper shred, marshmallows, and chocolate spoons as some extras! Now add it to a cute basket or wrap it in some cellophane and you're ready to gift to a teacher or neighbor!

GHOST TOWN "BOO'D" BAG | with Shellye

You've been boo'd!  What a fun way to share surprising little gifts with neighbors and friends this Halloween!  The concept is quite simple: fill up a bag, basket or box with treats and a message that they've "been boo'd"...in turn, they pay it forward by boo'ing someone else.  

For my box, I've upcycled a cereal box and incorporated pieces from the "Ghost Town" Collection:

To start, I began by cutting a cereal box in half (it's easiest if you disassemble the box, cut and glue).  

The box then measures 7.5X2.5X5.5. I covered the half-box with patterned paper before re-gluing.  

The front was decorated with the "BOO" cut-apart cards, Doodle Pops and letter stickers.  I also added paper handles to the sides.

To the inside of the basket, I tucked a little premade notebook that I covered with strips of washi tape and added a Jelly Clip to the top!  Next, I used one of the larger Create-A-Card envelopes and added paper treats inside :)  The outside was decorated with one of the sweet die-cut houses, sticker letters and held together at the top with two mini clothes pins.

I wanted something to hold small bars of chocolate, so I die-cut a pillow box from patterned paper, wrapped it in ribbon and made a cute tag!

Finally is a package of handmade bows!  I made these using two of the Doodle Cuts Mini Tags and a large brad:

From the set of little dies, you could actually create an array of different sizes and shapes.  For these particular bows, I folded the rectangular tags in half and glued. I lined up all four of the tags (for one bow) by matching up the tabbed holes and then inserted a large brad through to hold them all together!  I left the tails so that they could be positioned out horizontally or folded down.

I used one of the 4X6 cards as a base for attaching the bows. By using a repositionable glue dot, the bows won't slide around and can easily be removed. The sheet of bows was placed inside a cellophane bag and topped with a fun bag topper!  I make my bag toppers by simply folding a piece of paper in half and stapling to the top.

Now that the bag has been filled, I can add a typed note of instructions (found on Pinterest) for how the recipient can boo the next person! What great fun...I hope you'll try it!

Holiday Gift Idea: Neighbor Gifts with Courtney Lee

Happy holidays everyone!!!! I am SOOO excited to have just moved into a neighborhood where people are focused on community!!! I cannot wait to give out these neighbor gifts! Courtney Lee from Court's Crafts here to share a little neighbor gift inspiration with you for both adults and kids!

The girls had this cute idea to give gold sparkle nail polish. I loved it. To Pinterest I went and found this pin that used the mistle "toes" pun. I am one for puns so I thought this was really fun!

I had my Cricut do the write and cut feature which made this project very fast and fun. 

I tied them on using bubblegum doodletwine. 

While I was on Pinterest I found this hilarious phrasing about red and white wine and just had to use it. So I grabbed a bunch of bottles of champagne ('tis the season!) and made these cute tags!

I had my Cricut Maker do the writing for me (I am not blessed with that adorable cute writing most of the DT has! lol!) and wrote it on vellum so that the cutest Doodlebug paper would be the focal point. All of this paper is from the Milk and Cookies collection.

I adhered my vellum and while most of it stayed hidden on some of the tags, the adhesive was showing. No one wants that. So I used liquid glue on the edges and added tinsel glitter for some snowy fun. 

Then I decorated my trees with sparkle sprinkles and shape sprinkles and just had so much fun with it! Lastly I tied them to my bottle using some awesome doodlebug chunky twine. 

Now, just write your name and holiday wishes on the back and leave them on someone's doorstep! I am so excited to have something both for adults and for little ladies!

Sugar Plum Collection: Popcorn Neighbor Gifts

Hi Doodlebug friends -It's Tya here up on the blog today. I can't believe that Christmas is just several weeks away! Where has 2015 gone?  Every year I say that I am going to start my holiday planning early and this quick and easy neighbor gift that I have to show you today is simple enough that you can whip up a whole bunch of these little guys in an afternoon. These boxes hold a package of microwave popcorn and then I added a gift card to the movies in there as well - such a fun and practical gift idea that everyone will love!

I have included a tutorial to show you the steps that I used to make the boxes. You will need a scoring tool or scoring blade, some sticky strip,  a crop-a-dile or hole punch and some ribbon. And of course some fun Doodlebug supplies to dress them up and the popcorn and gift card (if desired).

Step 1-
Take a 6x 9 inch piece of paper and on the 9 inch side score the paper at 3 3/4, 4 1/4 , 8 and 8 1/2 inches.

Step 2 -
Fold the paper on the scored marks and add sticky strip on the edge as shown.

Step 3 -
Fold the box up as shown.

Step 4-
Using a hole punch, punch a hole about 1/4 an inch down from the top and in the middle. Squeeze the paper together and punch both sides at the same time.

Step 5-
Take a piece of 24 inch ribbon and lace the 2 ends through the holes you punched.

Step 6-
Add the gift card to the popcorn. Place the popcorn into the center of the ribbon and push the popcorn all the way down until it is covered. Tie a bow or knot at the end.

The fun thing about this package is the popcorn slides out of the box even with the bow still tied. It is super fun!

Step 7-
To add a belly band of pattern paper to the box, I took a piece of 4 1/2 x 9 inch paper and scored it again at 3 3/4 , 4 1/4 , 8 and 8 1/2 inches. Add the sticky strip to the end like we did  on the cover and wrap the pattern paper around the base.

Step 8 - Have fun and decorate the covers! I used the cute 4x4 inch square papers for the bases. 

I then had fun adding Icon stickers, sprinkles, doodle sentiments, frills and sentiments from the This and That sticker sheet to dress them up. And what festive package would be complete without a jingle bell to top it off?
