I was really eager to work with the Cupcakes and
Candles collection; it is so colorful, and I fell in love
with its birthday designs the moment they were
released! Today I used a cartonnage technique
to create this birthday cake-shaped box.
To cover the cardboard structure, I used the solid cardstock assortment from the collection along with
some of the patterned papers. I created flaps in the center to
hold the birthday person's photo and decorated
with puffy words, chit chat, and odds. & ends. The result
is beautiful and so colorful, I love it!
For the top, I made a bow using various ribbons from my stash, and
add the new Doodlebug wired pom-pom trim. Look
how beautiful it looks on the bow; it is absolutely
adorable!
In the center, there’s a space to add a little gift for
that special someone!
And it closes with the acetate box I created for that
surprise spot!
