Color Challenge: Limeade Projects by Silvia

Hello, hello!!!

This is Silvia showing you a really beautiful Doodlebug color:

Limeade

Limeade and Bubblegum are my favorite Doodlebug colors.

For this challenge I combined my favorite scrapbook brand with an
unfulfilledhobby: Quilting.
I haven't learned anything about quilting, but I hope in the future
I can make something like that with fabric.

So I was inspired by this picture that I found on Pinterest

I began to work in my computer with this design in mind.

I made a SVG an sent it to my Silhouette

I started working with a lot of Doodlebug cardstock in Limeade

It was so fun beacuse it was like I was doing a puzzle :)

So I had ready the background.

I began designing the frame and my initial, and they were made in MDF and laser cut

 A lot of Limeade embellishments later, Sugar Coated Cardstock, Sprinkles, Buttons, Jewels, Pearls and Doodlebug Twine, my project looks like this

Color Challenge: Ladybug Cards by Wendy Sue

Hello Doodlebug friends!  It's Wendy Sue here today and I'm so excited to participate with the design team's color challenge!  My color will have you seeing red- ladybug red that is!  I love that this is a color that is in MANY of the different collections and it is one of the original Doodlebug colors as well.  No matter how old the products in my stash, they coordinate perfectly with the newest releases that are rolling off the press right now!  I decided to feature four different cards from the "create-a-card" system.  Each card base and coordinating envelope is ladybug red.  And I used mainly ladybug red papers, stickers, and embellishments on the cards, with just a few accent colors.

Color Challenge: Bon Bon Birthday Party by Courtney

Hello and welcome to my 2 year old's birthday party! Court from Court's Crafts here!

When asked, Emmaline said she wanted a "pink airplanes and horses" themed party. I had other ideas in mind... but when she looked up with me and so confidently requested the theme: OKAY kiddo! :)

Get ready for a lot of doodlebug bon bon love (that's the name of their brown color if you didn't know.)

First we start with an invitation. I chose to keep the front of it clean and put the details on the back. It's just a flat postcard style invitation that is A2 sized (4.25" x 5.5") so that it fits in a regular envelope. I did add a bit of dimension with the plane and the clouds and the horse. I love dimension.

When something needs a little more dressing up - doodlebug sprinkles to the rescue! 

I used the sprinkles on the eyes of the horse too! I inked up this one and added some raffia as hay at the very end. I think that horse is pretty cute in houndstooth if I do say so myself. 

Did you know that doodlebug makes "you're invited" stickers?!? If you look closely, you will see that each word is all one piece. easy peasy for mass production.

Next up... of course any good kiddo party has a banner of some sort! I decided to go with the shortened "Emma" instead of "Emmaline" as it fit my table better. You can always shorten to the monogram as well! 

Normally the holes for the banner are on the top, but I wanted a laced/horsy look so I chose to do it on the sides. 

I kept the design clean and simple adding zig-zag stitches to the two "m"s and straight to the others. I added a little crinkled ribbon and some dimension. The alphas are the loopy lou font in bon bon and were perfect for the feel I was going for. 

I cut out 8 of the horses and 8 of the airplanes not quite having a plan of what I was going to do with them. I knew I wanted to do this little pen with a horse behind it. I added some straw to the pen to hide the little stand.

I hot glue gunned airplanes to the white coffee filter balls that I made for Emmaline's 1st birthday party. My goal was that it would look like airplanes in the clouds. Waste not, want not! :) I love re-using things.

So... these polka dot doilies are new, but I had to incorporate them! These little bottles are actually yogurt bottles that I buy for Emmaline. I washed them out and thought it would be sweet for the kiddos to drink out of. I am using them to help train E how to drink out of a glass instead of out of a sippy cup. A little raffia and some fun paper straws and voila! 

Okay... maybe I got a little doily obsessed... but simply adding some teensy type letters made them lemonade stand signs!

I knew I wanted to make cupcake toppers and these just helped to keep the theme coherent.

Color Challenge: Autumn Sweetness in Lilac

Hey crafty friends! Our assignment was to choose one of the great Doodlebug colors and create a project with it. I chose Lilac since I have three little girls and I have a LOT of photos of girls in purple clothing. Plus, purple has always been my favorite color!

I loved these Fall pictures of my youngest cutie but since Lilac isn't a traditional Fall color, I added in touches of gold, brown and green. I used a couple of cute little doodlepops from the Happy Harvest collection. Have you ever seen a hedgehog with earrings?! In the scrapbooks in our house, all animals have earrings because we live in a girl world! 

I'm still having a hard time using my gold glitter Sprinkles! They are so pretty and easily one of my favorite colors of Sprinkles! 

My new favorite Doodlebug supplies to play with are all the font stickers! I find them so easy to use to make creative titles on my layouts with. 

 

I couldn't believe how many different patterned papers there are in each of the Doodlebug colors. It was so easy to pull together enough purple papers to make a great layout.

Color Challenge: Limeade Green Monstah Layout

Hi Everyone, it's Kathy today with my take on Doodlebug's Design by Color Challenge.  The Design Team was asked to pick one color from the Doodlebug palette and create a layout/project/card  that was at least 75% that color.  It was a hard choice (I love ALL Doodlebug colors...) but I chose Limeade.  And as luck would have it, I had the perfect picture to complement my color choice!

For those of you who are not sports fans, or familiar with Boston landmarks, the Green Monster (properly pronounced "Monstah" in Boston) is the left field wall of Fenway Park.  My husband and my daughter recently attended a concert at Fenway and were kind enough to get their photo snapped in front of the wall! (ok, let's be honest, I sent them with explicit instructions to do so...)  I started by searching through my Doodlebug stash for all things Limeade!  I found many papers including some from the Petite Prints, Kraft in Color and even some from 2011's Monster Mania collections.  (I realize I've just outed myself as a Doodlebug hoarder....) 

I added a Limeade Chevron Treat bag to hold a hidden journaling tag which is embellished with some Limeade Doodle Twine.

I had a fun time going through all my Doodlebug goodies looking for more Limeade!  I found some stickers from the Kraft in Color Collection, some Limeade Fancy Frills, and a couple of Stickers from the Day to Day Collection.  Best of all, I found this ADORABLE Monster Doodle pop in my stash from the Monster Mania release!!!  He was the perfect addition!!

To complete my layout I added some Limeade Shin-dig Sugar Coated alphas, mixed with some Limeade Teensy Type letters for my title.  This was a really fun layout to create...I had a great time figuring out how to make it all work!  That's it for me today, make sure to keep coming back to see more inspiring project from the design team!  Thanks for stopping by!

Color Challenge: Tangerine

Hello Doodlebug Friends!  It's Wendy Sue here, hosting today's color challenge, which happens to be TANGERINE!  Tangerine is one of my favorite Doodlebug colors - I did a quick search about the color orange (tangerine's roots) and found out some interesting things...Did you know the color orange is associated with joy, sunshine, and the tropics. And orange represents enthusiasm, fascination, happiness, creativity, determination, attraction, success, encouragement, and stimulation. I love it - it's no wonder I've always felt like orange was a happy color!!

I pulled out all of my Tangerine supplies and put together some sweet little mini cards.  Here's a peek at the result:

I started with the sweet little 3x3 mini card bases from the "Create-A-Card" collection.  I used papers from the Petite Prints line for each card as well.  Each card also features a "Doodles" cardstock sticker sentiment. Then I added additional embellishments to each individual card.

This card has an ice cream cone mini icon sticker from the Sugar Shoppe Collection.  I tucked some paper frills behind the patterned paper and also added a tangerine jewel over the cherry on top!

In addition to the main elements, I added paper frills, a Springtime Flower Icon Sticker, and a sweet flower shaped button to this card.

This card has some paper frills, brads, and shaped sprinkles to make it unique!

And last, but certainly not least, this little card has a sweet umbrella sticker from the Springtime collection and some little sprinkles for raindrops!

No matter which Doodlebug color you choose, creating projects based on a single color is so much fun because of ALL of the options Doodlebug supplies give you!
