All About Me Challenge: Caroli Schulz

Hello there! How are you? it's Caroli and today I want to share my take of the All About Me challenge we are having at DD.

I love the idea of this challenge because often we scrap about our families and tend to forget about documenting our own life, feelings, likes, etc. Life changes so fast, and I think it's a great thing to do to write random stuff about our current life, because is exactly that random stuff what we will forget in the future.

This is the layout I made:

Aa you can see, the main focus is on journaling. I really love to make this kind of projects and pour my heart out in a layout.  I think that in some years it will be cool and fun to read this and remember that I had a crush with Alex Turner from Arctic Monkeys or that I was so into dancing and reading , don't you think? :) (Not to mention the good laugh my kids will have reading this, LOL!)

I use Odds&Ends from different collections to illustrate the things I love right now: coffee, unicorns, baking, parties, music, magic... so many cute things!

I have been hoarding this glittery unicorn Doodle Pop for months, waiting for a project that was good enough and worth to crack it open, and I finally had the guts to use it on this layout. I'm glad I did it, it's perfect!

I love to combine my own handwriting and Teensy Type alphas, they are perfect for this kind of layouts with its of journaling.

I'm glad I got to make this project about myself and that I am sharing it here today with you. I highly encourage you to document your current life, it's fun and a nice thing to do for ourselves. Have a lovely day!

All About Me Challenge: A to Z by Traci Penrod

Happy Wednesday everyone!  It's Traci, back to share my project for the team's All About Me Challenge. For my project, I created a pocket mini album with an A to Z theme.  Each letter represents something about me ... something, or someone, I love ... something I like to do ... etc.
To make my album I used white card stock for the pages, chipboard for the covers, and Doodlebug 6x6 paper pads for the patterns.
First, I cut 26 "pages" --  5 1/4" x 11 1/4", and I scored each piece at the 6 1/4" mark.  Then, I folded each page on the score line to create a pocket.  (Tip:  don't adhere the pocket closed yet).
Next, I adhered two pockets back to back so that each "page" would have a pocket on the front, and one on the back.
Once I created 13 pages (26 sides for 26 letters), I cut my pattern paper.  I used 6x6 petite print paper pads because I wanted a mixture of fun colors and patterns throughout my album.
I cut each 6x6 piece as shown below ... the large piece for the front of the pocket is 5" wide x 4 3/4 high".  The small piece for the top of the pocket is 5" wide x 1 1/4" high, and the remaining piece was set aside as scrap to use later.
Once all of my pieces were cut, I glued them to each side of my pages, and then glued the right and left sides of my pages down to create the pockets.  I punched holes in each page for my binding rings, and then cut my journaling tags (4" wide x 5 1/2" high).
Each page has a 3x4 photo, a Skinny alpha sticker, and an embellishment.  This was the really fun part!  And by the way, sorry for the shameless plug for Artsy Albums ... it's a big part of who I am so it just had to be my "A" ;)
My journaling is hidden in the pockets, and I printed simple labels for the top of each tag.  There is also room on the back of the tag if I decide to add another photo!
I hope our design team's challenge to create a project "All About Me" is inspiring you to create something that's all about you!!  Have fun with this one and show us what you create over on Doodlebug's Facebook page!

All About Me Challenge: Mendi's Woman Cave

Hello Doodlebugs!  It's Mendi here with a layout showcasing one of my favorite rooms of the house... My woman cave as my family affectionately likes to call it.
Doodlebug Design: Yankee Doodle My Woman Cave All About Me Scrapbook Layout by Mendi Yoshikawa
I keep an album filled with all the layouts I've created about myself as a special keepsake for my girls and I've actually scrapbooked quite a few over the years.  However, when we were asked to create a project about ourselves this month I realized I had never documented about where I spend the majority of my waking hours.

I thought Doodlebug's Yankee Doodle collection was a great collection to turn to because the blues are the perfect compliment to my walls--In fact I used a piece of Doodlebug cardstock that I took to the paint store for them to match when we built our house.  ;)  I was super happy when I realized the cute jars from the collection would also be perfect for a layout about my space. For my title I paired the Skinny alphabet stickers with some words cut out from red vinyl on my Silhouette Cameo.

As a finishing touch I added the "home sweet home" sticker from the 12x12 this & that sticker sheet.  I literally squealed when I saw it because it couldn't have been more perfect.

I hope I've inspired you to document and scrapbook some favorite spots where you live.  My Mom took some photos of me sitting in the middle of my messy room as a kid and they are some of my favorite pictures.  They are a fun peek into my childhood with all the memories that flooded back of toys I had completely forgotten about.

All About Me Challenge: Tya Smith

Hello Doodlebug friends! I hope you are enjoying our "All About Me Challenge" posts! It's so fun to be the star of my project - usually I am just a behind the scenes girl! For my project I decided to make a fun photo tray project featuring some of the things that I love. I have several of these fun trays displayed around my house with various different themes - and this one is all about me! How fun! Here is the photo tray:

One of my all time favorite collections is the "Sweet Things" collection. The colors in this collection are my favorites - red, teal, pink and black are all top of my list (another tidbit All About Me! ) To start with I printed out 6 photos in black and white and placed them in the tray. I then started selecting papers, stickers and embellishments from the Sweet Things collection.I picked the tray up at a craft store. Here are some close ups of the tray and decorations:
The title of my tray comes from the paper with the 4x4 squares. I love using these squares for titles! I added a few lily white Skinny letter stickers to the square.

Doodlepops make great decorations. This glittery heart and flower were the perfect touch! (And see that lovely lady in the glasses - that is my dear friend and Doodlebug owner Cynthea. I am lucky enough to get to work at the Doodlebug home offices and I treasure this company so much and the chance to represent and design for them is such an honor. Seriously - the best company EVER!

I love being a wife and mom! My family is the center of my world and I am so glad I get the chance to be in their lives. We have a lot of fun together.
My Fur Babies - Love these cute faces...I love animals of all kinds!

I was going to type my journaling - but I wanted to add a more personal touch to this tray with my own handwriting on the journaling spot. And of course, I had to add a photo of my favorite boy wizard. Another All About Me tidbit is I am a HUGE Harry Potter Fan!
Hopefully I have inspired you all to get yourself and the things you love recorded! I wish I would have had something like this to look back on of my loved ones who have passed on. Tell your story friends! And add some Doodlebug cuteness in to make it pretty! Happy Crafting everyone!

All About Me Challenge: Wendy Sue Anderson

Hi Doodlebug friends!  It's Wendy Sue here today, joining my fellow team members in the "All About Me" challenge!  Before I share my project, I need to tell you a few things about ME!  I was the little girl who saved her allowance and then begged her mom to go to the office supply store.  It was heaven to me.  I drooled over notebooks, pens, paper clips...I loved it there!  Now, when I saw this challenge, my first instinct was to create a layout and talk about my love of all things office-supply.  But then, I decided that I wanted to make something - something for ME!  Seriously, as often as I am crafting and making fun things, they usually aren't for ME...so I got really selfish and used some of my favorite new(ish) Doodlebug products to whip up a few fun notebooks!  You see, in addition to be an office-supply lover, I am also a total list-maker.  (Seeing a trend here??)  Anyway, here's my totally "all about me" selfish challenge project:

I made these fun little notebooks with the "At The Zoo" collection! I did a little bit of mixing and matching with patterned papers, doodle-pops, paper doilies, and doodle twine!

This koala is probably my favorite of all the little zoo pals!

Although this guy is a close second! ;)

I used a variety of "Teensy Type" letters on the covers too:

Just a quick little run-down of the process, in case any of YOU need a sweet little personalized notebook to throw in your purse or backpack or car - or all of the above! ;)

Cut the cover from patterned paper - 4 1/2" x 12" - then score 2 1/2" from the right edge and 3 3/4" from the left edge - this will allow the two pieces to slightly overlap on the front.

Cut five pieces of regular printer paper to 4" x 10" and fold in half.  Use a sewing machine to stitch along the center and attach the papers to the cover:

Now you can add clips, washi, stickers, or anything else to embellish the inside!

Use coordinating twine to create a tie-closure for each notebook!

Let me know if you have any  questions - and please let me know if you're an office supply junkie too! ;)

All About Me Challenge + Process Video: Anita Bownds

Hi their Doodlebug peeps,
Today I'm sharing a layout all about me, I've chosen a photo of me when I was little feeding rainbow lorikeets
That gives you a hint something about me....

With my layout I started with my white cardstock and using clear gesso and a stencil
I applied it to my cardstock then sprinkled glitter over the stencilled clear gesso
Then I matted my white cardstock on to the grey polka dot patterned paper and machine stitched around the edge

I layered several bits of patterned paper on top of each other creating a layered affect
And I stapled them together to keep them together
I matted my photo on patterned paper and add a few doilies behind along with a flower tucked underneath
The top right hand corner then I added a shape sprinkles to the center

Using some of the pretty twine I tied a bow and added it to the top of the photo with a mini peg

I added another flower in the bottom left hand corner of the photo with some leaves cut from white cardstock

Then lastly I added a few sequins around the background

All About Me Challenge: Planner Love by Jomelle Gomez

Hello Everyone! It's Jomelle and I'm super excited to be starting this week off sharing another Doodlebug Challenge Project. You can read all about me. I recently celebrated my 38th Birthday on August 11 so I decided to use the Fairy Tales Collection since it's loaded with  many super adorable goodies for my planner.

I decided to use my Tiffany Blue color Kikki K A5 planner since it's my favorite color.

I am not embarrassed to say my age. I am proud to show how I can age beautifully.

I used the Sprinkles with alternating colors as bullet points to list some fun facts about me.

I decorated this page using odds & ends, Icons cardstock stickers, teensy type alphas and little unicorns washi tape. I then cut the pink doily in half and placed them on each side of the right page.

I was scheduled to work on my birthday. Since I work night shift, we decided to have lunch to celebrate my birthday.

I think the light blue pen matches perfectly with this collection. I love how it turned out.

Being a planner girl that I am, there's always a need to create a dashboard.

"Pocket Love"
I can't skip stuffing my planner pockets with all the odds & ends and other goodies.

Adorable paper clip in the shape of a castle. Super cute.

Close up of the dashboard showing the Unicorn with the balloons. I used more sprinkles placing them randomly next to the unicorn.

Another super cute Paper Clip in the shape of a Unicorn.

Have you seen the Unicorn and Rainbow Collectible Enamel Pins? They are just irresistible. Gotta collect them all.

That's all for today. Thank you for stopping by and I hope you enjoy reading some fun facts about me in my planner. See you next time.
