8x8 STORYBOOK ALBUM PAGES | with Traci

You may remember that I recently shared my 8x8 Storybook album with you (previous post here).  It's an album I'm working on for my granddaughter and I've completed a few more pages so I thought you might like to take another peek!
For these pages, I used another Doodlebug favorite, Down on the Farm.  This line worked perfectly for our family photo shoot even though we weren't at a farm.

This 8x8 album is a great size for putting the focus on the photos.  The photos in the pictures above are 4x6.
Most of these photos on these pages are 3x4 and I love how the Storybook Album highlights them.
My granddaughter had a little stuffed pig that she brought to the park for the photos ... perfect piggy inspiration for these pages ;)!

Hope you all have a wonderful, crafty week!  See you next time!

Sweet Girl Layout | with Traci

For today's project I created a page layout about Rylee's attempt to catch a butterfly.   I knew the Hello collection would be perfect for this page ... the pink, the tiny flower print paper, and the gold!! Although white and gold are always hard to photograph, hopefully you can get an idea of how pretty the shine on the page really is.
At the bottom of the Hello This & That sheet are several rows of border stickers. That tiny gold dot border was calling my name and I was really glad I had several sheets when I decided to add it all the way around my page :)! The light pink edge down each side of the flower print is also a border sticker from the same sheet.  The adorable flowers in the upper right corner are a DoodlePop (I added the tiny pink bow from the Mini Icon Sheets), and the title is from the Chit Chat die cuts.
For the flowers in the lower left corner, I used a combination of acetate from the Odds & Ends, and enamel shapes from the Beautiful Blossoms assortment.
I hope I've inspired you to use mutiple border stickers on your next page ... and maybe a pop of gold! Have fun!

Partying It Up: Holiday Treat Exchange Party by Traci

Welcome back everyone!  It's Traci, and I'm excited to share a few ideas I have for a Sweet Treat Exchange party.  Think cookie exchange, but with any kind of sweet treat!
First, every party needs an invitation.  For mine, I used gingham and linen pattern papers for the base, and then created a print & cut using Doodlebug's Jar of Hearts design with my silhouette machine.  The font is by Lori Whitlock and is called LW cutie pie
Next, I created some cupcake wrappers and toppers.  I punched out scallop circles from Milk & Cookies pattern paper, layered them white card stock circles and icon stickers, and attached them to Doodlebug pixie sticks.  I cut the cupcake wrapper out with another Silhouette design.
For my little signs, I used the Cutie pie font to print the words, cut the card stock to 2.5" x 4" and embellished each one with icon stickers and a few doodlepops.  Each sign is matted with merry berries pattern paper.
Finally, my little banner is just 4x4 and 4x6 cards from the Milk and Cookies and Cream and Sugar collections.  I matted them with card stock, punched holes in the corners, and added ladybug chunky twine.
Thank you for letting me share a few party ideas with you today!  I hope you have fun partying it up with the entire Doodlebug team over the next few weeks!

July PageMaps Sketch with Traci Penrod

Hi everyone!  Doodlebug Designs has teamed up with Becky Fleck and the Page Maps team this month to play with some of their new July sketches.  Becky sent me a great 8.5x11 layout with spots for three small photos ... perfect for pictures of my precious granddaughter!
Here's the PageMaps July 2017 sketch:
... and here is my layout.
For this layout I used Doodlebug's Spring Things collection.  When my granddaughter was born last fall, I starting calling her "Buggy" or "Rylee Bug".  Spring Things has lots of cute little bugs so it was perfect for these pictures.
Rylee is, by far, the happiest baby I have ever met.  She is always smiling and laughing.  She truly has brought lots of sunshine to our family.
In addition to Spring Things paper, I also used cherry paper from the gingham prints collection, bubblegum doodle twine, and lots of little Odds & Ends
If you haven't tried a sketch from PageMaps, you should!  Even though you can easily change the design, the maps are fun to use as a starting point, or to copy exactly for quick inspiration.  Have fun with them and thanks for stopping by today!
