Color Challenge - Bubblegum Scrapbook Layout by Tya

Hi Doodlebug friends - it's my turn up on the blog today to show you my project for the Color Challenge. I chose the adorably named Bubblegum for my color of choice. Now usually I go for black ( it is my favorite color after all :) but I decided to stretch myself and do a bright pink layout! I knew the exact photo that I wanted to use and it was a perfect match for all the bright and happy bubblegum products that I had. So I am lucky enough to not only be on the design team for Doodlebug, but I do get to do some work at the home office and this year I got to attend the winter CHA trade show in Anaheim with a few of the Doodlebug crew. Everyday we dress in a different color polo shirt that matches the booth and we took a "selfie" of a few of us girls in our bright bubblegum shirts. I love how this layout turned out :)  Here it is -

As you can see I used several different types of pattern papers including Petite Print, a Bubblegum Heart print from an older Valentines day line and a few different papers from the Kraft in Color line. Of course the thing I love the most about Doodlebug products is even if my Bubblegum papers were from a recent release or a few releases ago - the shades always match perfectly! I love that!
I used several different washi tapes to make this fun banner. I used the regular size and the thin size on a length of bubblegum bakers twine. My title was made with Bubblegum Skinny Cardstock Stickers and a glitter sprinkle for the dot on the "i"
I used a few different heart Doodlepops and stickers as well as some Bubblegum jewels and pearls. The title is made from Bubblegum Chippers letters.
I mounted my journaling on a doily and some awesome textured cardstock. I added some more bakers twine around the cardstock for a fun touch.

Thanks for stopping by today and I hope I have inspired you to add a little "pop" of Bubblegum pink to your next scrapbook or paper craft project! Have a great day!

Sweet Enough to Eat! Mendi's Color Challenge Layout

Hello Doodlebugs!  It's Mendi here today with a layout focusing around Doodlebug's Cupcake color!  The soft pinks found in the cupcake color group are so pretty and were the perfect compliment for my cherry blossom photos.
To create my layout I used a fun sketch by Allison Davis at Scrapbook Generation and pulled out as many things I could think of in the cupcake color.  As I was creating I kept thinking of more items I missed (like washi tape, buttons, brads, clothespins, paper clips, pearls & paper frills to name a few).
For my tree branch and flowers I used Doodlebug's new Sizzix Tree with Flowers, Heart & Leaves die.  I simply cut the branches apart and pieced it together to lengthen it.  For the flower centers I alternated jewels, glitter sprinkles and sequins topped with mini pearls.  I love the sparkle it gives my page!  A little birdie sticker from the Sugar & Spice icon sticker sheet was the perfect finishing touch.
For my title I paired the "beautiful" sticker from the Kraft In Color Sticker sheet with the new Cupcake Skinny Alphas.  For my twine bow I was liking how the tails were naturally falling and I wanted it to stay like that so I used a glue pen to adhere it to my paper. I cut my little birdhouse out on my Silhouette using THIS cutting file and was able to hide the knot for my baker's twine by sandwiching it between pieces foam tape under my roof.  For my heart, I used a die-cut from that same Sizzix die.
I hope I've inspired you to take a closer look at the Cupcake color and to try a monochromatic project of your own.  I was pleasantly surprised by what a fun challenge it was!  :)

Color Challenge: Jennifer Rocked the Bon Bon Brown

Hello Doodlebug fans. Jennifer here and today I'm sharing my project for the "color challenge". The color I chose to work with was Bon Bon Brown.
As you can see I decided to created a card / gift card holder. This cute beaver was cut out on my Silhouette, using a mixture of brown patterned papers and cardstock.  Brown Boutique Buttons and black sprinkles were used to create the eyes and the cardstock nose was coated with a crystal lacquer, to give it a nice glossy shine.
Two pennant stickers from the Happy Campers collection and some twine were attached to a pixie straw for the beaver to hold.
Then leaf and sentiment stickers were applied to the card. More buttons and sprinkles were added for some texture.
To hold a gift card in place a mini pocket was added to the back of the beaver. Then a piece of folded cardstock was glued to the back of the piece and trimmed, allowing the card to stand.
Here's one last look before I go.
Happy crafting, everyone!  Jennifer
