Inspired by Easter Decor Project by Jennifer

Hello Doodlebug fans! Jennifer here to share my "inspired by" project. There were so many amazing projects on the DB Pinterest boards, that picking just one was quite a task. I ended up selecting this adorable door sign by Shelley McDaniel.
I decided to keep the main elements of Shelley's project. The fence, bunny, "Hippity Hoppity" phase and the Easter eggs. However, I re-sized and moved things around for a new look. Here's how mine turned out.
Using my Silhouette, the fence and bunny were cut out of thin chipboard. The chipboard pieces were then glued onto some thicker chipboard and hand cut out.
The Easter eggs. chicks and carrots are all die-cuts from the Bunny and Friends Craft Kit. The kit is full of fun critters and Easter icons, that are double-sided.
The "Hippity Hoppity" sticker was mounted to chipboard and attached to the fence with some chain and hot glue. More chain was also attached to the back of the piece, for hanging.
Here's a close up of some more die-cuts and my favorite part the project - the carrot!  As you can see three carrots were stitch down the center, then folded upwards to create one 3d carrot. The leaves used are from the Spring Flowers Kit and were embellished with a flower and round sprinkles.
Thanks for the inspiration, Shelley! Happy crafting, Doodlebuggers! :) Jennifer.

Happy St. Patrick's Day Layout by Vicki Boutin

Happy St. Patrick's Day my Doodlebug friends!

It's Vicki here with two projects celebrating this very special day in the Boutin house.  It isn't special just because we love green and everything Irish.  It is special because it is my son Riley's birthday!!!

So in honour of Riley birthday I created a layout and a card using Doodlebug Design's Happy Go Lucky collection along with every piece of Limeade and green Doodlebug product that I could find!!

 Here is the layout...

1

I started by creating these "peek-a-boo" windows from cardstock and then I cut smaller windows from Sprinkles Vellum and layered them together.  I trimmed a variety of strips of paper and overlapped them on the base of the layout to create the "star bursts" that appear inside each circle. Then place the cut out circles on top of the base of the layout and position the items inside of the circles.

Here is a closer look...

The Happy Go Lucky Icon Stickers are sooooo cute!!  They are the perfect little characters and icons.  I also used Pixies with punched stars (and hearts) on top.

Here is a closer look at each circle...

The Leprechaun 4x4 squares add that special title block touch.  I layered the "lucky" sticker with a Doodles cardstock sticker for the title.  Finish it off with a few Doilies, Paperclips, Sprinkles and Jewels.

Here is a St Patrick's Day Birthday card...

I used a Limeade card base and cut a circle from it.  I cut this cute doggie from Lucky Clovers paper and places it on the backside of the card front.  I cut a circle frame from the Leprechaun paper and added it to the front of the card.

To add a little dimension I pop dotted the pot of gold from the Happy Go Lucky Icon Stickers and layered it on top of the slightly larger pot.

I finished off the card with some twine and Sprinkles!

I hope you get a chance to celebrate St Patrick's day and collect lots of photo memories!!  Happy Go Lucky is the perfect collection to display all of your St Paddy's Day fun!!

Inspired by Challenge: Sequin Layout by Traci

Hi everyone ... it's Traci and I'm so excited to be back on the blog today with my "Inspired By" project.  This month, the design team was asked to find a past Doodlebug project that inspires them, and recreate our version of the project.  This was hard to do -- have you seen how many incredible projects are posted over on Doodlebug's Pinterest page?   It took me forever to narrow it down, but I loved Mendi's sequin title on her adorable Mouse Mania layout so .... Here is my Project ... and my fab family :)
and I was inspired by ...
Isn't this title fun??  Mendi walks you through how to create this title in her original post which you can find here. Here's another close-up of Doodlebug's awesome sequins....LOVE them!
Hope we are inspiring you this month!  Thanks for stopping by! Traci www.artsyalbums.com
