HEY PUMPKIN HALLOWEEN DECOR | with Tya

Hi there, crafty friends! I’m so excited to share a spooktacular home décor project I created using the Hey Pumpkin collection! This collection is packed full of smiling pumpkins, cute little ghosts, colorful candies, and the happiest Halloween icons ever. I thought it would be so fun to showcase all of those darling elements in a framed paper sampler — perfect to display as part of my Halloween décor.

 The Full Sampler

Here’s a look at my completed Halloween sampler! Each of the nine squares features a playful little Halloween scene, all layered over cheerful patterned papers. The bright plaid border ties everything together beautifully and makes the whole project pop against a simple black 12x12 frame.

 Top Row Details

Pumpkin Mug Block – I started off with the sweet Pumpkin Latte Doodle-pop, layered over stitched mats in orange Textured Cardstock, and tiny colorful dot black paper from the 6x6 paper pad. I added a tiny spider hanging from baker’s twine for a touch of Halloween whimsy and finished it with a floral accent from the Bits and Pieces.

Haunted Candy House Block – Next, I built a cute candy-colored haunted house scene! I used some Bubblegum Gingham/Linen paper for the back square and some green Textured Cardstock. The house is from the Icon Sticker sheet. I popped the house up with foam tape for dimension and added tiny gems from the Mini Jewels to a few parts of the sticker. The candy details make it all the more fun!

Cupcake Duo Block – On the top right, I used two Halloween cupcakes layered over a scalloped circle.  The green scallop circle is from the Bits and Pieces. The green cupcake is from the Odds and Ends, and the orange cupcake is from the Icon Sticker Sheet. I mounted these on a 2 1/2 inch scallop circle I punched out of some white cardstock.  I added in a tiny spider from the Halloween Night Shape Sprinkles for some spooky-cute flair and added the “Happy Halloween” speech bubble from the Odds and Ends for a cheerful sentiment.

Middle Row Magic

Little Witch Block – Isn’t she the cutest? I layered several pieces here to frame the adorable little witch sticker from the Icon sticker sheet. I punched out a 3-inch circle from some white cardstock and then layered up a 2 1/2 inch scallop circle punched out of black cardstock, and then I added the white scallop circle with the black outside from the Bits and Pieces. I then added a pink heart and a yellow heart sticker from the This and That sticker sheet and the sentiment banner “Have a Magical Halloween," which is from the Chit Chat die cuts.  This whole piece is mounted on some cute green spider web paper from the 6x6 paper pad.

Center “Trick or Treat” Block – This is the centerpiece of the sampler, and it’s the one that ties everything together! I used the colorful Trick or Treat sticker from the This and That Sticker Sheet and decorated around it with tiny candy pieces and enamel dots from the Trick or Treats Shape Sprinkles for a pop of sweetness.

Floral Cluster Block – To balance out the middle row, I created a floral block filled with bright blooms from the Bits and Pieces,  a spider web tag from the Bits and Pieces, and a bow made from black and white twine. I also added a large yellow sprinkle from the Halloween Assortment pack for some shine.  I love how the layering and textures make this section come to life.

Bottom Row Fun

Ghost & Kitty Block – These two are best buds! I paired the happy ghost with the little cat peeking out of a pumpkin die cuts from the Odds and Ends, layered on black patterned paper from the 6x6 paper pad for contrast. The “Boo” word strip sticker and mini bat  Sprinkle from the Halloween Night Sprinkles add extra charm.

Pink Car Block – Up next, a fun pink car filled with Halloween friends! This is the Boo Cruise Doodle-pop, and I loved adding this dimensional piece to my sampler!   I  finished off the clouds found on the sticker with a couple of Mini Jewels.

October 31 Block – The last square features the bold “October 31” circle layered on pink polka dot paper.  The circle is from the Chit Chat, and the paper from the 6x6 Paper Pad. I added a crescent moon Icon Sticker, florals from the Bits and Pieces and star Sprinkles from the Halloween Night Sprinkles for sparkle. A strip of candy and flowers from a die cut in the Bits and Pieces along the bottom of the frame ties the entire sampler together perfectly.

 Finishing Touches

The entire sampler is matted with the colorful Plaid It's Halloween 12x12 paper from the Hey Pumpkin collection, and then framed in black to really make those bright colors pop! Each little block tells its own mini Halloween story, making this piece the perfect handmade décor to display throughout October.

Thank you so much for stopping by today! I hope this project inspires you to create your own Halloween sampler using the Hey Pumpkin collection. It’s such a fun way to showcase your favorite Doodlebug icons and bring a pop of handmade happiness to your holiday décor!

Happy crafting and have a magical Halloween!

HEY PUMPKIN GHOUL FRIENDS LAYOUT | with Brianna

Hey friends! Brianna here today and I'll be sharing another fun Halloween layout using the Hey Pumpkin collection.  This collection is so fun and I've always loved the witch embellishments in it! I decided to document a cute photo of me and my friend Jessie at our work Halloween party back in 2017! I can't believe how long it's been. I thought the witches would be the perfect embellishments on this page:

To start, I went through the patterned papers and chose the B side of the Boo-tiful Bouquet paper. I then took the the Lily White cardstock from the Solid Assortment pack and use that as my actual foundation page. I really wanted to pull a lot of patterned paper into this layout, so having the white as my foundation, would help keep it toned down a bit! I trimmed it down to an 11x11 and then added 1x12 strips of the B side of the Halloween Haul paper to the left and right sides.

I  trimmed down the Moonlight Magic and Hey Pumpkin papers and stacked them together in the center of my page. It's a lot of pattern, but they all work together and I love how it turned out!

Next, I went through the Odds & Ends pack and pulled out some of the adorable witches. I arranged them around my page and popped two up on foam tape for some dimension and interest. Since this was a girly page, the witches were perfect.

For my title, I kept on with the girl theme and chose the 'ghoul friends' pieces from the Chit Chat pack. I thought it was such a cute title and I love the font. It really pops off of the page! I pulled in a few more phrase pieces from the Chit Chat pack and included them around my page.

For some finishing touches, I pulled out both the Icons and the This and That sticker sheets and sprinkled in a few pumpkins, candies and the adorable stars.  This turned out to be such a fun, playful page and I love it!

Here's one last look:

Thank you so much for stopping by today, I hope I've inspired you in some way. I'll see you in my next post friends!

SWEET & SPOOKY BOO LAYOUT | with Tarrah

Halloween is always one of my favorite times to scrapbook — the costumes, the candy, and all the spooky-cute vibes! Today I’m sharing a layout that captures all of that fun using the Sweet & Spooky collection!

For this page, I wanted the title to make a big statement, so I went bold with large 'Boo' titles in a cut file repeated across the page together with a spider web. The cut file was cut from black cardstock and each 'Boo' word is backed with different patterned papers from the Sweet & Spooky 6x6 paper pad — I just love how the mix of stripes, dots, and subtle prints add personality to each 'Boo'!

Some of my favorites include the soft purple stripes and the cute polka dots filled with Doodlebug’s signature colors.

To give each letter its own “spooky friend,” I added die-cuts from the Sweet & Spooky Odds & Ends and Bits & Pieces packs — including ghosts, pumpkins, and even a worm! I also added puffy stickers, This & That stickers and also some gorgeous Doodle-Pops too. These playful touches really bring the layout to life.

The photo is from a past  Halloween night — my little ones dressed up in costume, ready for trick-or-treating! I printed it slightly smaller to allow plenty of room for embellishments and let the title shine.

I grounded the photo with a small cluster that includes a 'Halloween' banner, a cute gumball jar sticker, and a sprinkle of mini pumpkins from the Shape Sprinkles set. Every little detail ties into the sweet and spooky theme.

To finish the layout, I added a few enamel dots around the page, a 'So Much Fun' sentiment, and stamped the date below the photo. A simple hand drawn black border helps everything feel complete and keeps the focus on the bright, happy colors.

This layout makes me smile every time I look at it — it perfectly captures the fun of Halloween with that signature Doodlebug charm! Happy Halloween crafting!

SWEET & SPOOKY DISC BOUND MINI ALBUM | with Niella

Hi BOO crew! Come one, come all! With just three weeks to go until Halloween; we have officially gone into countdown mode! Eeeek, SO hex-citing! So gather around sweet witches, crafty ghoulfriends, darling wizards and cute ghosties whilst we take a look at what I've created for this week's project! A 6x4 disc-bound mini album with cutie pie Sweet & Spooky Halloween collection! Check out the full album in my video at the end of my post, yay!

I start my covering two pieces of 6x4 chipboard with a 1.75 x 6 chipboard piece as the spine onto a 12x12 patterned paper, in this case I used the how sweet it is paper. I love the lilac/lavender colour and all the candies.  Score the paper on both sides for the spine and that helps close the cover.  Line the inside of the cover with a contracting piece of paper. Next, I punched some disc insert holes for the pages. You can also punch holes and use ring binders for the pages if you like. Give it a go!

Time to add the special effects to the cover! Here I like to add coordinating cardstock, then decorate with sprinkles and here I used some washi tape for the Halloween tab, so cute! I topped off the cover with the Spiderlings doodle-pop! Darling!

Don't you just love how the cascading pages look! I start from the bottom up and each page in front is smaller than the last page. This makes sure you can see peek-a-boo pages when all the pages are piled to close your mini album.  I loved using the 6x6 paper pad, odds n ends ephemera, icons and all the pretties in this collection to decorate the front and back of every page. You can make your album as fill as you like.  The good thing about loose bound pages is you can add or remove pages.  Fun!

I love all the characters and fun elements of this collection.  Each face has a personality and every bit of this collection, like all Doodlebug collections, matches perfectly.  The hardest part is what you'll choose to use and that is why I love to make lots of the versions because each collection is plentiful!  What is your fave Doodlebug Halloween collection?

Thank you again for visiting crafty crew! I hope you've found inspiration today! Please remember to tag us in our your Socials when you create with Doodlebug so we can all admire your creativity! We love seeing your creations. Until next time; doodle BOO!

SWEET & SPOOKY TREAT CONTAINERS | with Karen

It's the most wonderful time of the year! Nope - not Christmas...it's Halloween. Now, don't get me wrong, I am also a HUGE fan of Christmas, but there is something so fun about crafting at Halloween that it is definitely my favourite crafting season. And with collections like Sweet & Spooky to work with, it's no wonder!

Today I decided to see if I could make some little treat containers with the Sweet & Spooky 6x6 paper. Often when I am making treat containers I use 12x12 paper, but I love the little detailed prints you can find on the 6x6 paper. And given that the treats you can buy this time of year seem to be getting littler and littler, it seemed like it could all be a cute little combination.

Well, what do you think? Cute? Each one of these bags is made out of only one sheet of 6x6 paper and fits two mini treats.

I embellished these with some adorable Doodle-pops and topped them off with a Mini Paperclip and some ribbon from my stash. They were really easy to make too! Want to find out how? It's your lucky day because I took pictures along the way.

Here's how to make them:

  1. If your paper is directional, make sure the pattern is facing up. Score a 6x6 sheet at 2", 2 3/4", 4 3/4" and 5 1/2".
  2. Turn the paper 90 degrees clockwise.
  3. Score at 3/4" and 4 1/2". Turn the paper back to it's original orientation.

4. Take the top edge of the paper and fold it down. This will create the top edge of your bag. Create a wedge cut on the right side on the top tab only.

5. Along the bottom edge, you will see 3 small tabs that have been created by your fold lines. cut up the the 3/4" score line on each tab, creating a wedge cut on each. Completely trim off the one on the right side. The purpose here is just to make the bottom easier to fold together.

6. Use a bone folder to crease all your fold lines.

7. Add some glue to the long tab on the right side. Glue it to the opposite side of the treat bag to form the "cylinder". The little tab at the top that you created in step 4 should not be glued down yet.

8. Working with the little tab now, add some glue to the top of it and tuck it under the longer top edge.

9. Add some glue to the bottom tabs and fold them inwards. Take your bone folder and stick it inside to press down all the tabs.

10. Flip the bag over and pinch in the sides. This will take a bit of effort because there are a few layers of paper here.

Then fill them up and seal them with a Mini Paperclip like the Beetle Black ones I used! I also embellished this one with the cute Hello Sugar Doodle-pop, but there are so many in this collection you can choose from!

Let's see, I teach about 100 students - I wonder if I should make one for each of them?! Oh Halloween - here we come! Thanks for stopping by! Hugs,
