GET WELL STAMPED CARDS | with Barbara

Hello, Barbara back today with more cards using the So Much Pun Collection along with Pill Better Doodle Stamps and Doodle Cuts.

I really do love these punny stamps and had so much fun playing with them! For my first card, I stamped the band-aid image three times and colored them in fun colors then used them to “heal” a paper tear :) Two sentiments were heat embossed on speech bubbles with appropriate emojis stamped on the corresponding bandage. The center one has a heart for some warm fuzzies. I used Dot-Stripe Rainbow Petite Prints and  Floral-graph Rainbow Petite Prints for the background.

For my second card I masked a bunch of the pill bottles, added the sentiment, and grounded them all with Copic marker coloring. Once bottle became the highlight and was stamped, cut out with Doodle Cuts, colored with Copic markers, and popped up on foam mounting tape. I added some paper from the So Much Pun 6 x 6 paper pad, Some Ladybug Doodle Twine, and several Sprinkles to dress it up.

My third card is clean and simple with a patterned paper-covered base, an image, and a sentiment. I made it special by paper piecing the tissue box, cutting a slit with my craft knife and inserting a piece of real facial tissue through the slit. I added some grounding with Copic markers and an aqua sponged background.

WREATH CUT FILE LAYOUT | with Tegan

I couldn't wait to use the Doodlebug Design French Kiss collection again because it is just so very sweet! Sure it has some Valentine's Day pieces, but it has so many other general themed elements! Here I used the collection to document my sweet little senior pooch. I used the Doodlebug Simply Spring Flower Wreath cut file to create the fun and colorful background design on my page.

​ I used the Simply Spring Flower Wreath cut file to die cut the wreath out of white cardstock. I used the French Kiss 6x6 paper pad and Citrus colored Textured Cardstock to back the die cut shape with lots of colorful papers. I embellished the wreath with Chocolate Box Shape Sprinkles, Mini Icon Stickers, and Odds & Ends pieces adhered with foam adhesive. I then adhered the wreath to a sheet of Petite Prints Patterned Paper in Swimming Pool. I used more Odds & Ends pieces (my fav!) and Shape Sprinkles to embellish the photo of my pooch and I.

​I used the 'SWEET' Odds & Ends die cut piece for the first half of my title. I used my die cut machine and French Kiss 6x6 Paper Pad to cut out the rest. I added a little strip of the adorable Special Delivery Washi Tape under the word SWEET to add a little color to the bottom of my page. And, of course, I had to use the little doggie Odds & Ends piece!

MINI ALBUM USING LEFT OVERS | with Shellye

Using just a few pieces of leftover patterned paper and sheets of heavy card stock, this mini album is so quick and easy to put together!  The assemblage is similar to a child's board book and is also very accommodating  for layered embellishments!

To begin I cut five sheets of 110lb. white card stock to measure:

9.75" X 6.25"

9.5" X 6.25"

9.25" X 6.25"

9" X 6.25"

8.75" X 6.25"

Next, I placed each of the sheets onto a scoring board. Each sheet was scored at 4.25" and then turned 180" and scored again at 4.25".  After folding all of the sheets along the score lines, I started building the pages beginning with the longest sheet first.  I added an extreme double-sided tape between all of the sheet's score lines and began assembling the pages.  

For all of the pages I used a 4" X 6" mat of patterned paper  and adhered to the center of the page.  As shown above, I cut a small strip of 1.25" X 6" paper and attached.

Below is a peek at all of the inner-pages that are photo-ready!  

I decided to leave a few of the pages blank so that larger photos could be added.  

The top of the album was finished off with a trio of Jelly Clips and now it's all ready for gift giving!

SIMPLY SPRING - TEACHER APPRECIATION CARDS | with Karen

I just cannot get enough of Doodlebug's new stamps and dies! I tend to be one of those crafters who picks up a stamp set and uses it once or twice before it hits the storage bin, but not with the new Doodlebug stamps. They have been out on my crafty table from the moment they arrived and I have lost count of the numbers of times they have been used for projects. I just cannot get enough of them! So it should come as no surprise that I am featuring them again on these two little cards that I designed as end of the year thank-you for a couple of great teachers in our lives! Up here in Canada, we still have until the end of June before the kids are home for summer break, but given how crazy the month gets, it seemed like a good idea to get ahead of the game! The oh boy! and flower girl doodle stamps make the perfect little images for summer themed cards! Birthdays, thank-you, anniversaries - these sets will have you covered! As usual, I coloured them up with my trusty alcohol markers, but any colouring tools will do the trick! Team them up with some adorable patterned paper and a few embellishments like the adorable mini paper clips and some sprinkles (I used the swimming pool assortment) and you will have a set of cards that will be very hard to part with!

I don't know if you are having as much fun with the new stamps sets as I am, but can say that I can't wait to see the next set or two that Doodlebug has up their sleeve! In the meantime, you can bet that these cuties will make an appearance on a few more projects of mine!

Do you have a large collection of cards?  I must have 100 cards in a basket that I've made for various assignments.  But when I needed a get well card, could I find one... of course not.  I decided I needed to "remedy" the situation (yes, pun intended...) and make a few cards using the fun new Pill Better Stamps and Dies.

Instead of coloring my stamped images, I decided to paper piece them.  The combination of cute Doodlebug stamped images and fun papers... it's certain to make anyone feel better!  I started with the band-aid stamp.  I stamped it on both sides of the different petite prints papers, then hand cut the images to add them to my card.

My next card is a fun shaker card.  I paper pieced the prescription bottle and then added some Dot Stripe Petite Prints to half of the cute little pill stamps.  I made a shaker with the pills and some colorful Doodlebug Sequins.

My last card, in my opinion, is the funniest... 

I paper pieced the tissue box with the blue checked paper from the Simply Spring 6x6 pad.

There are so many different images and sayings in this cute set, the possibilities are endless!

8x8 STORYBOOK ALBUM PAGES | with Traci

You may remember that I recently shared my 8x8 Storybook album with you (previous post here).  It's an album I'm working on for my granddaughter and I've completed a few more pages so I thought you might like to take another peek!
For these pages, I used another Doodlebug favorite, Down on the Farm.  This line worked perfectly for our family photo shoot even though we weren't at a farm.  

This 8x8 album is a great size for putting the focus on the photos.  The photos in the pictures above are 4x6.  

Most of these photos on these pages are 3x4 and I love how the Storybook Album highlights them.  

My granddaughter had a little stuffed pig that she brought to the park for the photos ... perfect piggy inspiration for these pages ;)!

FRENCH KISS SHAKER BOOK MARKS | with Nathalie

I love the French Kiss collection and I have been wanting to dust off my fusing tool to make shaker bookmarks for a while so I recently spent a short afternoon making these. I think they turned out so cute now I'm hooked, I want to make more!

They measure 6.5x2 inches and are decorated both on the inside and outside of the plastic sleeve.
I had the idea of pairing some die-cuts with book related quotes. I typed the quotes on white cardstock using my manual typewriter (but you can also use a computer) and I glued them on the patterned paper.

After making individual pockets with my fusing tool and an old page protector, I added a mix of Sprinkles, sequins and glitter inside along with the patterned paper. I then adhered the selected diecuts on top of each pocket.

I then machine cut small hole reinforcers from matching papers using a die from the Pill Better metal die set and attached tassels created with various Doodlebug twines.

They make fun gifts for book lovers but once you're done you might want to keep them for yourself... I'm not speaking from experience of course! ;)

VIKING PARTY CENTREPIECE | with Jennifer

Hello Doodlebug friends. Today I'm sharing a project that was a lot of fun to create. It features a mixture of Petite Prints, the Dragon Tails collection, a Doodle Cut, and even a little stamping.

This party centerpiece was made using Doodlebug's Viking cutting file, some foam board, and chipboard.  Below you can see how he was put together.

1. Using the Viking cutting file, a chipboard pattern was cut using my Silhouette. The pattern pieces were glued onto some foam board and then cut out by hand. The body and head were then covered with patterned paper and cardstock. Some handstitched detail was added to the mustache and beard. After gluing the pieces together, I covered the sides and back of the Viking with cardstock and patterned paper.
2. A boot pattern was drawn out onto some thin chipboard, they were then glued to 1" thick foam board and cut out.
3. After covering the boots with some patterned paper, some twine/ribbon was wrapped around the ankle section of the boot. 1/2" dowels were used for the Viking's legs.
4. For the title, I used one of the planets from the "Far Out" stamp set to make the wood disc shape in the center of each piece. Each disc was then embellished with die-cuts, alpha stickers, and sprinkles. Thin wire was used to hold all the pieces together. The title was then hot glued onto the front of the boots.

For the faux leather detail, the band-aid die from the "Pill Better" set worked perfectly.

For the shield, I used the same stamp as before. I stamped around the outer edges and in the center with some dark brown ink.

Here's a better look at the title and stamped details. The piece will stand without a base, but I decided to add a oval wood one, just to make it more stable. Thanks so much for joining me today. Happy crafting everyone! :)
