Here Comes Santa: Christmas Tags by Corri

Hi Everyone!  It's Corri today with some fun Christmas Tags featuring the new Here Comes Santa Claus Collection

I started with a cut file from Lori Whitlock for the tags.  Using my Silhouette, I created an internal offset to cut the papers from the 6x6 Here Comes Santa Claus Paper Pad.  Then for the fun part, decorating!  Here are some close-ups...

For my first tag, I used some of the Odds & Ends to decorate.  I just love how many goodies are in this package!  I finished it with the Merry Christmas Sentiment from the Santa Celebration Double Sided Cardstock.

For my next tag, I used some of the ADORABLE stickers from the Icons Sticker Sheet.  I just love that little reindeer!  The sentiment is also from the Santa Celebration Double Sided Cardstock.

For my final tag, I used the Dear Santa Doodlepop.  I just love that little mailbox!  To finish the tag I added some stickers from the Icon Sheet and a shaped sprinkle!  I hope you've enjoyed this fun Christmas project!

Here Comes Santa Claus: Three Cards by Courtney

It's Beginning to Look a lot Like Christmas

My mom calls and sings that song after she has found a Christmas present and wont tell me what it is! Courtney here from Court's Crafts with three Christmas cards to jump start your creativity.

Te first one was totally inspired by those little birds. I LOVE THEM!!!

This heart background paper is my new fave and I just had to get it in as the background of the card. The heart Cute Clips were JUST the thing needed. There is even one hiding in the wired ribbon!  I grabbed my daughter's tinsel pipe cleaners (shhh.. don't tell!) and snipped a bit off to ground my birds - like birds on a wire. :)

This is one of those cards that comes together organically and quickly. I took out the snow globe (Odds and Ends) and I cut the sentiment out from the 6x6 paper pad. And then they sat on my desk together...for like a week. haha. Then I saw this advent calendar paper and wanted to make something different (I was going to make a door hanger countdown thingy) but then I thought... quilted background!!!

Or maybe I should call this a faux quilted background as I just stitched in between the squares making it look like that! I added a border strip from This and That, a scrumptious candy cane sprinkle and a paper clip to the snowglobe and attached them all to a tag. Sweet!

Dear Santa
For this card I really wanted to decorate a Christmas tree.. somehow that turned into this. lol. The creative process sometimes cracks me up and I was totally cracking up at myself as I put this together.

Those candy swirl sprinkles though!!! And did you see Santa's candy cane exhaust? haha. Most of these were die cuts from the Odd's and Ends. :)

I hope this inspires you to break out your Here Comes Santa papers early and have some holiday fun! I LOVE Christmas!!!

Here Comes Santa Claus: Advent Calendar by Jennifer

Hello, Doodlebug fans. Jennifer here and today I'm sharing my Here Comes Santa Claus project with you. I knew I wanted to create a countdown with the Christmas Countdown 12x12 paper, so I looked around the Silhouette store and found this cutting file by Lori Whitlock. I liked the size of the advent calendar because it was perfect for adding something fun on top. Here's the finished piece.
I kept most of the 2x2 images from the countdown page the same, but a few had to be changed because of color or design issues. Since I planned to have a scene on top of the calendar, I made the large storage box out of foam core.
The scene was drawn out to scale then hand cut out of foam core. The pieces were then covered with patterned paper and glued together.
Some of the die-cuts (like the reindeer, snowman, and mailbox) were mounted to chipboard or foam core, before being added to the advent box.
Twine was used around Santa's hat, face, and mustache. I also used the twine to make two pom-poms for his hat.
Peppermint, candy cane, holly and berry sprinkles were all added throughout the project, as well as round ones.
Here are a few more close-ups of the project, before I go.
Thanks for joining me today. Happy crafting, everyone! :) Jennifer

Here Comes Santa Claus: Album Ornament by Traci

Happy Tuesday Doodlebug friends!  It's Traci and I'm happy to be back on Doodlebug's blog today.  For my Here Comes Santa Claus project,  I decided to take my favorite project and shrink it down a bit to create an album ornament for my Christmas tree.
I used two pieces of 4.25" x 5.25" white chipboard for the front and back covers, and then made white card stock pages for the inside.  I used a Here Comes Santa Claus 6x6 paper pad to cover each page, and then loaded the album up with stickers and Odds & Ends die cuts.
I punched two small holes at the top and used chunky twine to bind the album and hang it on my tree.  I love finding unique ways to include pictures on my Christmas tree, and I can't wait to add this little album this year!  Stop by Artsy Albums and say hi sometime!

Hi friends!  It's Wendy Sue here with you today - and I am excited to be invited back today to share my latest little Christmas project.  I, like all of you, just about fell off my chair with excitement when I heard about the Doodlebug Silhouette shapes - so you can bet I was absolutely thrilled to be asked to share a project featuring one of my favorite shapes!  It took me a while to narrow down my list of ideas and focus on just one to share with you today - so I hope I chose wisely!  I'm sharing my Christmas countdown!

I used the "Santa in Airplane" Silhouette Cut File to create this fun countdown calendar!

Of course, I used the "Here Comes Santa Claus" papers and embellishments to dress up this cute Santa & Plane!

Instead of cutting out the banner flying behind the plane, I opted to cut out 25 little banner flags, and the numbers 1 - 25.  I embellished each little flag, then clipped them onto a long piece of chunky twine with miscellaneous coordinating clips.

I love the idea of Santa flying around, watching the kids to make sure they are being NICE (not naughty) each day until Christmas arrives.  Every night, we can unclip one of the numbers until the big day finally arrives!  It would also be fun to make this into a type of advent calendar by writing an activity on the back of each number.  I may have to add some fun activity ideas to my countdown before December arrives.

In the meantime, I'm counting down the days until I can hang this cute Santa up on the wall to stay!

Doodlebug Design Cut Files: Oversized Die Cuts for Decor by Kathy

Hi Everyone!  It's Kathy with a fun project featuring some
FABULOUS Flea Market Cut Files available in the Silhouette Design Store and SVG Cut Files through Lori Whitlock Shop.

I was so excited to realize that with these new cut files, I could create Doodlebug critters and embellishments in ANY SIZE I wanted!!  These were perfect for the bulletin board outside my daughter's dorm room.  Every room has one, and the girls can decorate them as they wish.  So of course we supersized some of the files!  Here's what I cut...

It's hard to tell from the picture, but that fox is almost a foot tall!  Here are some close ups of the different files.

Leaves

Fox

Pumpkins and Acorn
I pieced them together using Gingham-Linen Petite Prints, Swiss Dot Petite Prints and some older Dot-Grid Petite Prints.  I can't wait to send them to her!!  That's it for me today, thanks for stopping by to peek!
